Controlling weight gain in pregnancy is therefore important for future health and well being. It is easy for women who have normal BMI to conceive as compared to high BMI women.
There is very less negative effects on mother or developing foetus if pregnant woman remain or become active. There is theoretical increase in the risk of injury to the pregnant women due to ligamentous laxity and increase joint loading but there has not been proven in any studies. Also,exercise may result in blood flow away from foetus to exercising muscle.
