A ToS refresher for anyone who hasn't been on Tumblr since 2018

Tumblr revised its community guidelines this year to allow breasts and nipples, and relaxed restrictions on nudity.

Blogs that post too much explicit content (intercourse, gore, etc) can get mosaic filtered, which is in essence getting shadowbanned. Your avatar and banner will get censored, and you'll be pulled from search results. People can still follow you and reblog from you, but they have to find you first.

As of 2023, Tumblr gave users Community Labels. Any user, be it OP or someone reblogging, can add Labels to a post. The current options are "mature" with no specificity, then sexual themes, drugs, and violence. These types of content are still allowed, but Label toggles gave users the ability to opt in/out of certain types of content. (It toggles these Labels invisible by default for users who are still minors.) These toggles are in your settings, if you ever would like to customize that aspect of your browsing experience.

Make sure that if you're reblogging explicit content, you're not reblogging from bots! Porn bots are worse than ever here, and many of their posts persist and circulate even after staff has deleted their account. You'll develop the intuition pretty quickly to be able to discern at a glance whether a user is a bot.

Which: Make sure you make your profile look like you are a real person! Change your avatar. Make at least one post. Put something in your blog description. These can be literally anything, but even that bare minimum can be the difference between someone auto blocking you because they think you're a bot. (This goes double if you intend to reblog high volumes of explicit content. If a user clicks through to your blog and sees no avatar, no description, and tons of porn, that will cause a vacuum explosion noise how fast many will block you!)
