MLP AU Pt. 1
This is my AU based on what happened once the show ended.
First things first- who are in relationships and if they have children
Rainbow Dash x Apple Dash- 3 children
Flutter Shy x Discord- 2 children
Twilight Sparkle x Sunset Shimmer- 1 child
Pinkie Pie x Cheese Sandwich- 2 children
Starlight Glimmer x Maud Pie- none
Thorax x Sunburst- 1 child & 1 adopted
Sweetie Bell x Spike- 1 child
Rarity- none, but has a very strong bond with her niece
Big Mac x Sugar Bell- 1 child
Plot Points
Starlight is the principle at the School of Friendship
The Cutie Mark Crusaders teach at the School of Friendship. They teach a shared class about cutie marks, but also their own subjects. Scootaloo teaches an adventuring class, Sweetie Bell teaches music, and Apple Bloom teaches potions
Apple Bloom also helps to create new breeds of apples
Apple Jack runs Sweet Apple Acres. She takes care of where to plant apples and that agriculture stuff (I know nothing about apple orchards lol). She also takes care of trade deals and stuff
Big Mac deals with mostly the physical side of running Sweet Apple Acres, but he also deals with the upkeep of their buildings. He’s also the main pony who organizes Apple Family Reunions
Rarity chose to focus on her career and build her brand, becoming one of the most well known fashion designers in Equestria. She designs and makes all of the royal family’s attire for formal events. Her niece is her apprentice, and Rarity plans to leave her business to her.
Pinkie now owns Sugar Cube Corner, but that doesn’t stop her from throwing bomb-ass parties. Pinkie and her family travel to visit the Yaks at least once a year.
Rainbow Dash recruits and trains for the Wonder Bolts. Dashie and AJ travel for work together. Rainbow to recruit Wonder Bolts and oversee competitions and events, and AJ to look at potential business deals for Sweet Apple Acres
Twilight maintain portals from the Castle to each of the girls’s homes (including Starlight’s) so they can meet up frequently. They can also use the portal as a type of ‘facetime’. Soon after Twilight becomes the ruler of Equestria she recruits Sunburst and Sunset as her advisors
As Twilight and Sunset spend more time together, and Twilight spends less time with the rest of the Mane Six, they grow close and eventually fall in love. Twilight holds meetings with the rulers of the other kingdoms in Equestria, and during those meetings Thorax and Sunburst became good friends and eventually husbands
Flutter Shy still runs the Sweet Feather Sanctuary. Discord and her travel to find and save almost extinct and mythical creatures. One one of these trips is how their children are made (a blessing from a mythical creature they saved). Flutter Shy also works with multiple schools to host adoption events
Maud and Rarity have a business deal where Maud supplies Rarity with gems, and Rarity sponsors Maud to go on excursions to discover more gems
This first part is just for the foundations of my AU, the next part will start to get into the children.

MLP Pokemom Teams pt.2
Since the Cutie Mark Crusaders and Spike are still kids, I don't think they'd have a full team. But I do think the CMC would come across quite a few Pokémon while trying to get their cutie marks.

Princess Celestia and Luna are good Princesses
I have seen multiple people say that Celestia and Luna (mainly Celestia) are bad princesses, and I'm here to come to their defence.
They do their job. They raise the sun and the moon, Luna protects peoples dreams, and Celestia takes care of equestria (with the help of Luna).
The sisters literally created harmony for Equestria and maintained it. The rising of the sun and moon literally simbolize balance, and any time the schedule for the sun and moon rising is off, something is going on- which literally shows that if Celestia and Luna weren’t there, Equestria would be fucked (plus Discord would still be ruling).
Tumblr media
Celestia and Luna no longer have the elements of harmony. When they did have them, they were able to defeat multiple threats to Equestria. However, now that the Mane Six have the EOH, they no longer have that ability to defeat the threats themselves. It’s been shown in multiple episodes that if the Mane Six did not have the EOH they would be as ‘useless’ as Luna and Celestia.
“Celestia is a bad mentor to Twilight”- I imagine that when Luna became Nightmare Moon is when the sisters lost their connection with the Elements. Not only is Celestia strong, she is smart. Of course she would know that without the elements (and her sister) she wouldn’t be able to deafeat the threats to Equestria like she used to. She knew that she would have find the next ponies that would connect with the Elements and protect Equestria, which I’m assuming is why she founded the School of Magic. When Twilight passed her test Celestia was able to tell that she had a connection to the Elements (my theory is that when the sonic rainboom happend that initially ‘woke up’ the Elements of Harmony and connected them to each girl, and that because of Celestia’s prior connection to them she was able to sense that.) And that is why she directly taught Twilight and sent her to Ponyville. Also, Celestia doesn’t just ignore what Twilight struggles with (loss of control and stress) there are multiple times that she has tried to show Twilight that she can relax and not everything goes as planned and that it’s okay. Celestia genuinely cares for Twilight, she lets her guard down with her, encourages her, and lets Twilight see her true personallity. All the instances where Twilight is stressed about Celestia being a Princess and her mentor and teacher, Celestia is chill and happy to see Twilight (besides during the Gala, during which she was doing her job as the ruler of Equestria).
Tumblr media
all of this is to say I’m tired of the Celestia hate.

So You Want To Read Batman Comics But Have No Idea Where To Start
So: you’re new to the DC Comics fandom and are interested in Batman and his family. Maybe you already know a bit about them and are just looking to figure out where to start reading actual comics. Maybe you know nothing. Maybe you know a whole lot about one character but want to start reading more about another one.
Whichever it is, I’m here to help! There’s a wide range of Batman/Batfamily comics (for all ages, moods, and types of people), and I’m happy to meet people where they are and help people dive into comics. On that note, brace yourselves, because this is going to be a long post. Recs start under the cut.
—IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT READING COMICS—
Superhero comics are traditionally written in what’s known as runs; an author gets to have an extended period on an ongoing (or limited) title where they (traditionally) write in 4-8 issue story arcs; think of these arcs as chapters in a potentially never-ending book. These individual issues are colloquially known as floppies. So when I talk about “Tom Taylor’s run” on the Nightwing title, for example, I’m talking about the (as of now) current writer, who’s been the main author on the Nightwing title since March 2021 and whose story arcs begin with Nightwing #78. Every so often, titles end, the principal author on the titles switch up, or they’ll have “guest/interim authors” come in to do single issues or a single story arc.
These story arcs are then collected in hardcovers or ‘trade paperbacks’ (generally referred to as trades, occasionally TPBs); both collect the entire story arc (plus bonus/behind the scenes material, in some cases) in a single paperback/hardback book. Trades are super useful if you want to read an entire story at one time, want to be economical about your comics spending, and/or want to read things in order. Occasionally, if a writer has a particularly long run on a title or a big company event happens, you get published omnibuses that collect an entire event or run (or part of it, if the event is big enough); omnis are very expensive up-front, but ultimately they tend to be good deals and are often curated well. These collections are all generally also released digitally. Frankly, unless you’re into comics collecting, want individual issues for their pretty covers, or are supporting a currently ongoing run, I would default to buying trades/omnibuses where possible. It’s simply cheaper and easier for reading.
List Notes: Each character list is sorted vaguely chronologically according to a combination of IRL publication dates and the character’s personal timeline. Big caveat that these are not all-inclusive reading lists nor are the inclusions inherently indicators of quality; I’m just trying to hit major character highlights. You should also note that many comics contain multiple Batfam members due to the ridiculous number of crossover events and the solid integration of the Batfamily as a whole into each others’ books in the post-90s era. Comic rec tl;drs are given at the end of each character’s list. Most of the links will take you to Amazon/Comixology, but I also talk about various ways to access and read comics at the bottom of this post.
Secondary Note: DC Comics works in three universes: the pre-Crisis universe (everything published from the beginning of DC Comics until the Crisis on Infinite Earths event in 1986), the post-Crisis universe (everything published between 1986 and 2011), and the post-Flashpoint universe (2011-now).
In 2011, DC completely rebooted their universe following the ‘Flashpoint’ event. This new universe (interchangably called the New 52 universe, post-Flashpoint universe, or Prime Earth) drastically changed many characters’ histories, personalities, and relationships with each other (sometimes for the better, most of the time for the worse). The early years of the post-Flashpoint universe are an absolute incoherent mess continuity-wise; DC’s been trying to sort it all out over the past few years with the Rebirth and Infinite Frontier events (with varying degrees of success), and there are definitely some bright bits and pieces, but it is not my favored universe (though I will certainly recommend it where needed or when it’s good).
Now: let’s get started, shall we? Lists below the cut (please click here to view the most updated version of this post on desktop via my blog instead of on mobile/the dashboard, for easy readability and formatting purposes):
