Hi Deja, This is an amazing piece of art you did. I indeed agree with you that the environment we live in today is very quick and fast-paced in general. Even though the pandemic has stuck its ugly nose into our lives, we have managed to keep pushing our limits and keep the world moving forward. Thank you for sharing your perspective on this with us and good job!

Title: Moves with or without you
I want my message to focus on personal and somewhat of a social issue, based on how our society is run and the fast-paced movement of the world. My inspiration for this work was focused on the passage of time and how the world is constantly moving regardless of if you’re in motion yourself. The story behind this is how during this pandemic everyone is still trying to move on and continue living under these situations. I have some personal feelings related to this just because, during this pandemic, it’s been an emotionally trying time but life continues on. I want viewers to see themselves in this piece and be able to relate to what we’re experiencing during these tough times. My overarching goal as an artist is to make people take a step back and see think twice about things and maybe even think a third time to analyze. There is never just one answer to anything, so finding multiple aspects of concepts is important to see. This work will tie into other work I created by pushing that once more that idea of how our society is so quick and fast-paced when it comes to living. It’s important to take a step back and realize that with or without you the world will always keep trying to press. Even in times like these.

Hi Nicole R You reminded me of my middle classes and childhood. I used to have that problem of erasing everything I wrote just cause I made one single mistake writing. It was so frustrating and annoying to have to repeat every sentence just so I can have a clear written paragraph haha. Today I have mastered my hand writing and I wanna thank you for sharing this with the class!
I will only write in pen.
My senior year of high school, I developed the habit of erasing and rewriting what felt like everything I wrote down. There was no rhyme or reason to this, and I knew that, but I also knew that not acting out this behavior was just as stressful as acting it out (and it wasn’t something I was ready to work on at that point in time). Because this behavior was so exhausting and frustrating, I wasn’t sure how I would feel during this performance. I thought that I would be frustrated, as I so often was during my senior year, but instead, I felt as though I understood my own intentions in a better way.
youtube
My intention with this performance was always to show others the exhaustion that comes with compulsive behaviors, since it’s not uncommon to minimize both the emotional and physical effects of compulsive and repetitive behaviors. Oddly enough, I’ve dealt with compulsive, repetitive behaviors for as long as I can remember, but I don’t know how many times I’ve given myself breathing room and tried to be understanding with myself, instead of blaming myself (which results in nothing but more stress). My hope is that others can consider repetitive and compulsive behaviors in a more forgiving manner, whether it’s ourselves or others who are dealing with them.

Hi @littlenothin, this is a very interesting and good video you made for this project. You’re not the only one who feels like that when it comes to self-reflecting into the mirror. I also hate some times when I look at myself and feel like I am not enough or perfect in some ways. But like you said we just have to embrace who we are because of how little we can only change about our selves physically. I want to thank you for bringing such an idea and sharing it with the class!
The Figure in the Mirror: who am i
For this project I went with an endurance piece, sitting in front of a mirror for an hour. As somebody who hates looking in mirrors this was a very hard and intensive thing to do especially for other people to see but I realized not only did I need it but its the best way to be real with others. I have always struggled with body images and anxiety in way where I just never thought this external body really reflected who I am. By looking at this mirror I had to come to terms with the fact that this who I am to others and not much can change that. A common concept that came up in this is that when you look in the mirror you cant help but touch your face and that is something I couldn’t stop doing. It wasn’t until I watched all the clips over that I realized I was moving pretty much the entire time. So this helped me realize the importance of grounding and that maybe looking in a mirror isn’t such a bad thing.

Hello beautiful people!
I hope everyone is doing fine, staying busy and healthy in these tough times of social isolation. As you are all aware, the art world has been strongly affected by the corona crisis, a pandemic that’s been feeding off human lives to spread all over the globe. With this pandemic spreading around, the internet has become our main source of connecting with each other and the best way to share our knowledge and creativity.
My name is Audry Malize, an African American musician based in the Denver area. I have been a musician playing Drum-Sets for about 5 years, and having the opportunity to exhibit and share my talents with the communities around me. This is also something that has truly made me feel blessed and very important in this world. To promote social distancing, I decided to record myself making a Hip-Hop type of beat live for my Performance Art Project. I used a software known as “Ableton Live 10 suite”, A mini keyboard and a speaker as shown in the video. As far as my experience in making beats, I have only been making beats for about six month, and I’m still trying to master it. There is a lot for me to learn in the future and I am hoping to own my own music studio and become one of the best music producers in the future.
Thank you all for watching my video and remember to stay safe, healthy and wash those hands!

This project explores the relationship between the expected and the unexpected of our surroundings. I created a private island for sale know as “Furaha Island” around the back of my house where most of my housemates relax while they smoke blunts, or just simply hanging out with their hosted guests. This location is also located close to a road sidewalk that leads people to a basketball court and park. The concept of this project was to create something more unexpected that triggers anyone’s mind into a state where they want to believe something, but also not believe it due to that it’s not an actual Island. To push the aesthetic of the island, I created signs that would scream out loud and attract anyone walking by the house or sidewalk that there is wonderful and adventurous island for sale. And lastly as an artist, I worked hard to develop this project both to me and to others about the beauty and existence of this lovely private Island that’s for sale.

This is a great video for this project. It looks like a commercial or an advertisement of different bands that are going to be live in concert. I like the way you edited this video and the transitioning of each clips that you chose to use. Thank you for sharing this video.

this is my submission. it is called “nephilim wings final (hero)” it is about a fictional character who is a nephilim, who is by his own nature hated and despised by humans. this story is in emotional and metaphysical emphasis. This is a very interesting video. I used to watch anime when I was too little and the more I grew up, the more I lost interest watching anime. I am not sure if I understood the story, however I like the transitioning and overall edit in the video. Thank you for sharing.
I think you overall did a good job with your transitions
4D Video Remix

For this project I wanted to create a sort of vapor wave like video while also trying to tell a story. For the project I used all anime clips except for one. I wanted to create a story talking about losing oneself in the chaos of the modern world and what it feels like to look back at yourself and not remember who you were. Whether that be from a traumatic event that changes your life or just slowly becoming a new person. It is chaotic, violent and colorful showing how events change people in their lives. In the end though we can always know that our past selves will always be looking at us in the present, waiting to experience and live through what has made us who we are today and to not lose hope in our futures.

This is one of the best videos I have seen from the class projects. The reason why I say this, is because I am a musician and I personally love to watch people sing in music videos. I like the idea you chose to make this video where people reacted to it and made it more interesting. I also did not see any glitching and I think your video was well edited with perfect transitioning. And as much as taking risks in this video, I don’t think the original owners would be offended or feel bad. Thank you for sharing this video.

Video Remix Project
You know how to find a song you love so much and you share it with someone and they don’t respond how you wish they did?
What is WRONG with them?
Music can so easily drive us to tears or to dance in our seats. Music videos, where the artist can emote their feelings for us to see, are even more moving as our reaction is only amplified when receiving their message and intention from more than one of our senses.
I love to sing and on that note, I went for my most favorite YouTube-famous singer, Yebba. It was through Yebba’s music and voice that moved me so greatly, I understood why people watching “reaction” videos. Before, I did not understand their appeal! Now, though, I really enjoy them when it’s a singer that I adore.
Reason being, when I find a song I just love so much that I want to share, music is subjective and those I share it with might not be as moved or shaken as I am. With reaction videos, it is the easy way to share that experience and almost, re-live your own.
I learned a lot through this process. It is very nitpicky, difficult business. Through the last week of watching others work and coming back to com through my own, I now see a lot of things I wish I would have noticed and addressed before. But this ability to see those things surely comes with experience. All in all, watching people react at the same time and have these shared experiences at the same time is really fun. You feel a connection, while knowing very little about them at all, you know they have felt something, just as you have.

Module 2: Video Remix Final Project
I chose to do a video of Donald Trump because I thought it would be very interesting to make a video of Donald Trump's speeches into a song and attract a lot of viewers. This video was made for a class project and I am intending not to receive any credit from it. I view my self as an artist, a musician, and very creative in many things. Making this video was very painfully challenging, and time consuming. I used a few of Trump's video clips, a freestyle beat, and also used Ableton live to help me finish this project. I was also able to learn a lot making this video and I feel proud of my self completing this project. and lastly I hope you all enjoy this video!

Video Artist Link Response
Still men out there, by Bjorn Melhus:
- To me this video was kind of scary like I was trapped in a haunted talking house that only had flashing lights, and that all I could hear were the 60s and 90s horror stories and army people dying in a war. I feel like this video was also intense and attention grabbing, even though I could not see any images of the scenes I was hearing.
The clock, by Christian Marclay:
- This art loop installation pf Christian Marclay was a very interesting piece of art as it future the clock or time. This video reminded me of a saying that “time and tide wait for no man”, meaning that if you do no take your chances in the time being, you may never get the chance again. So I think he idea of this time loop video was to show the audience that everything has a play on the timepiece.
Still like 2001, by Sam Taylor Wood:
- This is also another interesting video with no audios in it, showing a time-pass of peaces turning into ashes as time evolves. I find this video satisfying, because it expresses Sam Taylor Wood’s idea of art through fruits and how nature sucks their fruity taste into decaying matter.
The quintet of the Astonished 2000, by Bill Viola:
- This video also expresses art through time in slow motion which I find very interesting, because it shows every movement, details, and the suffering everyone is going through in the video.
Technology/Transformation: Wonder-woman by Dara Birnbaum
- From the movie I recently watched of wonder-Woman, I find this video very amateur like, disturbing, and mostly a confusing piece of art. I liked the transformation of Wonder-Woman and her appearance in different places, but the overall video was not interesting.
Carlin 2010, by Brent Green:
- This video was mind blowing and very artistically interesting. The background guitar and vocals were very calming and relaxing. I think this was a great piece of art, because the poem and the clips used in the video grabbed my attention.
Cunnilingus in North Korea, by Heavy industries:
- This video was about sexual freedoms in North Korea and how no one in North Korea is allowed to protest or go against their government. What I found inspiring to me, Its that there is hope and with it, there would always come freedom.

A WEIWEI: Never Sorry
This is a famous story of a Chinese artist and activist know as Ai Weiwei, who cared deeply down for his country and what was happening to it. Ai Weiwei was a multi talented artist with different ways of arts, who also used his skills to challenge the government from it’s wrong down for justice in his country as part of his fame. He uses twitter and tweets a lot about his art work and the government by revealing its secrets and bad deeds to open the eyes of the citizen, and creating protests. I find Ai Weiwei’s life very meaningful and inspiring to me, because I believe artists are not just about their work, but also about how the audience feels and expresses it. I think the most important fact in the movie was to show other artists to use their talents wisely and express their works by communicating with what's affecting or what maybe destroying our environment.
