Do you have any tips for drawing bodies?
I have additional info in my FAQ, but I use Reilly rhythms and build anatomy off of them. Here’s an example from ImagineFX:

I learned this method from Watts Atelier, they have some videos that show it in action that may be helpful if you can’t take a class or do the online program.

I’m so happy with how this turned out. I love that I spent the day playing with color and not the structure of the face. Really happy I found the Reilly method. Keep learning!!

A friend introduced me to the Reilly abstraction and sent me some helpful practice vids. Not sure how I like it overall yet, honestly, but there are definitely aspects of it that I can see myself incorporating a lot. Videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RmHOvmPJjE&feature=youtu.be

Reilly method studies from Jack Faragasso’s book.
(I’d like to think that with each page I suck a little bit less.)

I’m learning a new way to do portraits. I happened across the Reilly Method on Pinterest and it’s honestly the only method that has ever truly made sense to me. I chose this portrait specifically because I have ALWAYS struggled with portraits at this angle and at the same time I’ve never produced something so realistic so fast (under 1 hour).

I put this worksheet together a bit back when I had the privilege of teaching some cool young people. Everyone has their own unique way of learning facial anatomy, but for me I found that the Reilly abstraction and those rhythm lines crystallized everything for me! If you’re having difficulty understanding this stuff, I hope this helps out. Â

I know this one is a little rushed, but… When I left Berlin, a bus drove in front of me. A small family of ducks was almost completely on the other side of the road, only the last three chicks were lagging behind. if the bus would have waited only 2-3 seconds or just slowed down a bit they would have made it, but it ran over them. Please brake for Ducks. They’re just little families who want to live their lives. I should add that, of course, please do not endanger yourself and others while driving! But if there’s a chance to go a tad slower for a duck family, please do.

pacific rim was really like "our giant monster-killing robots are powered by the tender, intimate, powerful connection of soulmates - romantic, platonic, or familial" and i've never recovered from how the sheer brilliance of that concept made me feel

“Society and, by association, social media tells us sexual intimacy equals love. And the crux of this representation is that sexuality is normalised, mainstream. Which means asexuality is the opposite of that. Stigmatised, and anyone who doesn’t want sex, doesn’t like it, isn’t attracted to it, or is even repulsed by it, is labelled as not normal.”
