Sitting here critiquing some of my past events and I came across this candid from a lil’ under a year ago when I had my very first @thesimplethingsproject pop-up experience at @ourfavoriteshop. So many people came out to support and I was kinda overwhelmed by the positive feedback, but it also gave me the confidence to really step on the gas with this project. Last night I had the opportunity to go support the soft opening for my boy @andythenguyen's latest restaurant at the new @steelcraftlb space. I honestly have lost count of how many restaurant locations he has now - from @Aftersicecream to this (@pigpendelicacy)...dude is killing it. It's been so inspiring watching Andy's journey and it's still crazy to think that we actually met about 10 years ago when he was dominating the streetwear fashion game with his then baby, @imkingclothing. Every time I try to walk away from my first love @thessentialman and focus on a new project I get some kind of affirming message (in the form of a new customer sale or purchase order from a new retail client) that encourages me to not move on just yet (or at all). Several months ago (maybe even a year ago) my brethren @teronstevenson told me that we was in the process of launching a men’s accessory shop and that he wanted to carry TEM. and I said of course. Very thankful that the stars aligned for me last night because I had the opportunity to go see @dannyixxi perform live despite it being a sold out show and me by having a ticket. Bittersweet feels for that poor girl who couldn't get in that I ended up buying my ticket from 🤦🏾‍♂️ - as I digress...the show was amazing and the crowd was live...LA definitely showed up last night and it was dope to see Kali Uchis come out and perform her part to everyone's favorite song! I was too sick to post this yesterday but today I’m feeling a lot better. Just reached another milestone. In 2015 and half of 2016, I spent a lot of time working at @okthestore and I spent even more time merchandising their AMAZING art/coffee table book collection and since day one it has always been a dream of mine to have something I created sold in the store…well yesterday that dream came true and now I’m so pleased to announced that @okthestore is officially carrying my “Simple Things” zine!
