Writing For Interactive Media
This class successful taught me how to develop my stories, create a foundation for each story I write, and build my freelance brand. Week one we focus on building our brand by drafting an about me page. This assignment and discussion made us hone in on our skills and list them in a concise about me page. Week two focus on creating and conducting a story with an interview. This was an exciting assignment! It lead me to research and use our resource tools on interviewing tips, writing a story and all the other resource provided by our instructor to improve and practice our writing skills. I like to look at week three as a preparation week for our assignment and discussion for week four. Week three was all about preparing our big story for week four. Our story for week four had to be semi lengthy and it was mandatory to conduct two interviews. I enjoyed having to write another story and conduct more interviews since this is all great experience for myself and for whom ever is the interviewee. As an interviewee you learn how to properly answer questions and multiple things can be learned from these sessions depending on how much your interviewee as interviewed and what you are interviewing them about. My first story was about White Hat Hacking. I conducted a group interview with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Networking Engineer at Ignition Creative. Both have useful information to share regarding hacking in general and I was grateful to be able to learn more about this topic for two knowledgeable tech guys. My second story I covered a HackerNest Social. HackNest is a non-profit organization that host tech events to build up local tech communities in the area. This HackerNest Social was hosted at Hulu’s Santa Monica office. I was able to interview multiple people including the host, Hulu talent representative, and three attendees. Being able to get out and attend these events for school purposes is awesome! I enjoy meeting people and discussing how they feel about a certain topic. This class has improved my writing and journalism skills by allowing me to start my journey with two stories were I conducted interviews. The instructor also provided many useful links, infographics, webpages, etc.to help the class improve our writing. Overall this was a great course for my journalism career and the instructor did well on the structure of the class.

Internet Marketing Fundamentals Mastery
Going into my first core class of Internet Marketing Masters at Full Sail University my objective was to learn the basics of internet marketing. Selecting a company to follow throughout my masters is one of the first steps introduce to students pursuing this degree. I choose Nimble, a social CRM company based in Santa Monica, California. The first week of the course is centered on learning more about your company you choose to study for the entire degree. After the first week, I learned a lot about the CRM industry and inbound and outbound marketing strategies.
The second week was the focus of scams or fraudulent activity related to internet marketing. It is ridiculous how people find ways to make fast money. Our week two assignment focused on click fraud, the research I found on the topic was unbelievable! This is an internet scam that is relevant and constantly ruining reputations of companies. From week two I learned that it is important to keep a clean digital identity in a socially connected world.
Going into week three I was having a good understanding of internet marketing fundamentals. Doing the Lynda sessions, reading my E-book, and doing the assignments was all beneficial for learning about internet marketing. Our week three discussion was the focus on online reputation and the assignment was about competitors. The discussion was helpful for me to know the responsibilities of an internet marketing rep at a company. The assignment taught you how similar or different you are from the competitors, which is key information when analyzing the success of your company.
Finishing Internet Marketing Fundamental – Online in week four the course taught me the fundamentals of how to start my marketing campaign final project. The information in this course gave me a ton of ideas of what to do and what not to do while developing my campaign for the final project. Week four-course work was analytical and usability focused. This information will guide me in the direction needed to create relevant content for my marketing campaign. I enjoyed the course and the coursework. I will try my best to understand more about internet marketing and apply myself towards my studies throughout my degree program!

About Me
Born in Redondo Beach, CA raised in GA, I am a music business professional. I have been around the music business my whole life and I plan to make it my career. I am creating my path to become a music supervisor. Music business is my passion and pursuing a job in music supervision is a one of my personal goals. I have other interest in design, marketing, and business analytics but ultimately my career goal is music business. I worked for Peer Music, a music publisher where I gain experience in music supervision, cue-sheets, contracts, and royalty recoupment.
I recently moved to Los Angeles and I am working in advertising. I always had interest in design but being in advertising my interest in design has grown. So now in my free time I learn more about photo/video editing. I have been doing marketing for a while but learning about new methods of marketing is interesting and I plan to utilize the knowledge into my own way of internet marketing. I am a big tech geek I follow tech blogs and educate myself on the latest technology. This is why I have interest in business analytics. Business analytics is a great field of study and can be used in most industries. I initially wanted to pursue a Masters in Business Intelligience but realize my passion for analytics is a hobby not a profession.
I enjoy watching sports, anime, YouTube channels, and documetaries. I also enjoy active activties like gym workouts, fishing, basketball, and beach volleyball. I come from a family with a handful of atletes so I like to watch sports when I can. I am actually more into E-sports more than any other competitive sport at the moment. I do not watch much TV so I supplment TV with Netflix, anime and Youtube. I like personal stories so my favorite genre of movies are always true stories and documentaries. I hope by reading this you learnt about me I apperciate your time and feel free to comment, upload submissions or ask me anything.
Sincerly,
Eugene James
