tricky words I always see misspelled in fics: a guide
Viscous/vicious – Viscous is generally used to describe the consistency of blood or other thick liquids. Vicious is used to describe something or someone who is violent.
Piqued/Peaked/Peeked – To pique someone’s interest is to catch or tease their attention. When something peaks, it reaches its total height or intensity. To peek (at) something is to look briefly, or glance.
Discrete/Discreet – this is a tough one. Discrete means to be separate, or distinct, i.e., two discrete theories. Conversely, when someone is discreet, they are being secretive or cautious to avoid attention.
Segue/Segway – one is a transition between things, the other is a thing you can ride at the park and definitely fall off of.
Conscious/Conscience/Conscientious – to be conscious is to be awake, i.e., not unconscious, or to be aware of something. Your conscience is the little voice in your head telling you not to eat the entire pint of ice cream. Finally, to be conscientious is to be good, to do things thoroughly, to be ruled by an inner moral code.
Hope this helped! Please add more if you think of them!

JURASSIC PARK
Jurassic Park, The Lost World, III & World (haven't seen the 5th and 6th movie yet)
Last week I'v watch the movie series and I would like to quickly express my appreciation. The CGI is insane!
Something I would like to highlight that I've noticed through out the movies: it shows why capitalism is a bad thing. Men in suits with lots of money exploiting the dinosaurs until they pay with lives of innocent people.
Each movie made me realize that and it makes me giggle. What do you think?

GIRL FROM NOWHERE
A Thai show (2018) available on Netflix. It seems that in this show we are learning important lessons thanks to our main character: Nanno. (Played by Chicha Amatayakul). Nanno is an adorable, extremely intelligent, and a bit creepy high schooler. She is not afraid to expose anyone and everyone!
Episode 3
Episode 3: Pride & Plagiarism. Do you already feel what this episode is about? This time, Nanno's school is obsessed with talents and geniuses. Nanno is a genius too, but that is not important. Here we see what happens when you simply don't tell the truth to your friend. Before I begin, I would like to say that: it is okay if you don't have a special talent. It's okay if you haven't won any awards. Some things are immeasurable.
Two friends with no talents. That is how they are portraited. Suddenly one of them wrote an amazing novel. She wins prizes and is highly praised by her teacher. She receives fame and is also allowed to go on a fancy dinner with her teacher. Her friend feels indignant. Since when did she become such a good writer? Even worse, her teacher is pressuring her as if she's now the only talentless person at school. Geez, leave that kid alone.
She talks with Nanno and it turns out that the writer-friend "got some inspiration from Google." I honestly think this is normal. For teens. At least, I admit that for some classes, I also got some inspiration thanks to Google. Writing an essay can be difficult, so it's okay to ask for help. What isn't okay is to lazily tap crtl+c crtl+v. Unfortunately, our talentless girl doesn't realize this. Actually, I think she is one of the dumbest characters I've ever seen.
Basically, she printes out already existing paintings and adds a little splash of red paint. Sigh. You know what? It's actually fucking hilarious. Later in the episode, when the school wants to see her paint live, a girl from a different school comes up ready to expose her with the original painting. The school head claims that she's just jealous and is doing a false claim of plagiarism. This is funny to me because it clearly shows that the school doesn't know anything about art. Now come on, a great painting with a tiny splash of red paint... Even an imbecile can tell that something is off.
I'm getting a little too far ahead of myself. Everyone is curious about how she creates those magnificent paintings. Why not a live performance? Nanno suggests that it should be streamed too, live on Facebook. Oh Nanno, you cruel monster... When you watch the episode you can see how our little painter breaks her hand. A pity for her fans, isn't it? No need to worry, as she still has her other hand free.
The end of the episode surprised me. Through all the humiliation, tears, mental pain, physical pain and pressure, she still managed to paint a nice flower. (I personally think she did a good job.)
The price she paid? Basically what I just summed up. Good thing she's just a child and not an adult.

Episode 1 & 2
Episode 1: In this episode, Nanno arrives at her new school. The school has the title of 'purest' school. Interesting title. Nanno goes with a fellow student to help out Mr Win making yoga videos. Another student, Mei, seems like she wants to stop Nanno, but she's too apprehensive to speak up. It turns out that Mr Win sexually harasses his students and with videos he makes he can sabotage these girls. Mei is pregnant and wants and an abortion. There's another student, whose name I forgot but you will notice her admire Mr Win. I am not sure if he harassed her too. If he did, is she then blind? Too busy idolizing her teacher, not being able to see his ugliness? Perhaps he didn't and chooses his victims carefully. Although for him, touching Nanno was a big mistake.
Nanno starts stalking her teacher. She finds out where he lives and dines with his family. I loved this move. She was getting in his personal space, and leaves us in excitement, starting her plan of justice. She tells Mr Win's family what a great teacher he is. Mr Win is careful with his words. Mr Win's daughter Vaew is amazed by her dad and Nanno. She asks if Nanno can help her with her homework, one of the assignments is about how her dad is her idol. The story only gets better from now on! It turns out that Vaew has a boyfriend. One evening, when Vaew's parents aren't home, Nanno suggests that Vaew and her boyfriend should study at a different place. I'm guessing it's a motel room. Nanno leaves "for a moment" and lets the two alone. Nanno goes to school, ready to sabotage her teacher. Mr Win may have footage of her, she has even better footage. It turns out that there's a camera filming Vaew having sex with her boyfriend in the motel room. Mr Win is outraged and goes as fast as he can to the motel room to rescue his daughter. When he gets there, Vaew is shocked. Imagine your parents walking in, embarrassing! Then Vaew gets a text from Nanno (she used Mr Win's phone) and here we see the video Mr Win filmed. Nanno isn't afraid to send more videos. Vaew is disgusted. Her hero turns out to be a perverted villain.
The price Mr Win pays for his behaviour? Vaew runs away but unfortunately gets hit a by car. A heavy penalty.
Episode 2: We're back at the sexual harassment, but this time it's slightly different. In short, this will be about jealousy gotten out of hand. The handsome basketball boys have their eyes locked on Nanno. She is so gorgeous. In Nanno's class, assuming this is a different class from the previous episode, there are two girls. One is a bit small (Taew) and the other one a bit chubby (I-Tim). These girls have a crush on the basketball boys. The boys notice that Nanno sits with these girls. They use them to get Nanno's attention. However, she is not interested. The boys then offer concert tickets to the girls, hoping they can convince Nanno. As the good people they are, they decline. Unfortunately, their hearts turn black. They're tired of Nanno stealing their crushes. They go to the boys and accept the tickets. I mean, how could you possibly miss out on a concert by this fantastic band?
When jealousy goes wrong. The boys, girls and Nanno come together at one of the boys' house and have fun with alcohol. They try to get Nanno drunk but that seems impossible. Then the girls "are getting snacks". This time they're going to put sleeping pills in her drink. 1? 3? 5? 8? This somewhat bothered me. They added way too many pills in Nanno's drink. We have to remember that Nanno is intelligent, so there's no way she didn't notice.
Nanno's passes out. The boys wanna "see her body". The owner of the house goes first. He starts unbuttoning her blouse. Suddenly Nanno wakes up. 100% sober. She wants apologies from him because he didn't ask for her consent. He tries to ask for her consent and literally says "I love you." LMAO why is this kid so stupid? Nanno is tired of his bullshit and walks away. She knows the others are listening. Nanno can't leave until she had sex with every boy. The boy, Hok, grabs her and starts performing sex. Nanno starts laughing like a hyena, mocking him and Hok covers her mouth. Then he grabs her neck and eventually, he chokes her to death. This wasn't supposed to happen. They start panicking.
Now, this is where it gets weird. The group first hide her body. Somewhere out of town, they dig a grave. They cry and apologize. Nanno wakes up while they are covering her in the dirt. This where these kids could've changed their minds, helped Nanno and sincerely apologized to her. But no, honesty sucks and it's easier to kill her, right? The next day at school they're still traumatized. No shit. Then Nanno shows up like nothing happened. The girls are freaking out. Everyone is scared of her. She might go to the police. According to Nanno, she doesn't remember what happened after she passed out from drinking too much, besides having fun. She wants to party again.
She is not here to party. When she arrives at Hok's house she immediately walks toward the bedroom. She's here to "pick up her phone". Do I really have to explain this one? Afraid of this horrible incident coming out, these idiots manage to kill Nanno again and bury her in the same place. They apologize while covering her up in dirt again. She wakes up. Very much alive. Here we go again slightly different. They kill her, but a new Nanno shows up. Again & again. The group flees.
In conclusion, your apologies have zero value if you keep repeating the same mistakes.
