Dear mutuals and followers; I'm gonna start posting my art again soon (..ish) but should I just do it right here to my main instead of my dedicated art sideblog? Or should I use the art sideblog (@doovelackydraws)? Pros of using the sideblog: It's already there Cons of using the sideblog: Extremely small follower count (less than 20) versus my main blog (almost 300) which limits reach.

Using my main blog instead of a sideblog would mean I'd want to use it exclusively as an art blog too. Mostly this just means I'd be reblogging less from other people.

I really think that we need to be at peace with the idea of people posting online for attention. Literally every free piece of media from shitposts to art is being made for the very human need for attention and that's healthy and okay. Verily, man, this wizard peace is splendid. I just saw a guy clap his hands together and say "spirits o' field and vineyard" or something along those lines, and every one around him was showered in fresh-baked pastries and loaves, had their cups fill with aged wine, and then were soothed by a warm summer breeze. There are politicians in Australia who are using antisemitism as a weapon for potential deportation.

If you say "hate speech" a thing that is neither clearly defined nor agreed upon, you can have your visa pulled from under you. Under this proposal, this would also apply to people who have refugee status.

A lot of non-Jewish Australians right wingers enthusiastically support this.

I do not. Yes, I think that "Israel" is so often used as a very thin veil for "Jew" and that despite what some of my fellow leftists think, wishing death on a whole population is bad.

But there is no way in hell I would trust the kind of government that would think of creating this kind of law to responsibly enact it. But also, and more importantly, while I think that hate speech should sometimes have consequences, those will never ever include deportation especially when you are talking about someone with refugee status.

Like there is literally nothing someone could say that would genuinely make me think "oh good, we should send you to a place you will likely die".

Like, sure, sometimes I'll have violent wishes on hateful people. I'm a hot blooded Australian after all. But I do not actually want to see legislation passed and enacted that threatens people's lives and safety.

If something is said that breaks the normal standards then we have court systems for that. Immigration shouldn't be weaponised to make sure people don't say things you disagree with.
