In five years, I want to be an aspiring UI/UX designer, using my designs to inspire and help others who are into editing. Right now, I'm focused on learning as much as I can at school, making mistakes along the way. I'm also making sure I manage my time well by waking up early and staying focused on my goal, not letting distractions get in my way.
As a student who is aspired to becoming a UI/UX designer, my artistic vision is being creative and prioritize user first. i aim to make my designs not only aesthetically pleasing but also serves an effortless experience for users. I aspire to create a design where i can really connect with the users, understand them and how they feel by establish a deep connection with them. In the future i aim to create an AI for users with disabilities who are interested in designs. The AI will help them in their design work by providing tools and features made just for them. For example, a feature like voice commands helps them by controlling their design vocally and making the process simpler and more accessible.

Create a Critical Thinking Skills B manifesto. Question 1
From my understanding of what a manifesto is like making a statement where people or groups shares what they believe in and what they want to accomplish.
For my personal manifesto is who i am and what i aim to accomplish till the day i die.
My personal/design manifesto:
Challenges I faced when creating a personal/designer manifesto:
trying to avoid using cliches as i sometimes tend to overused phrases that are not even meant to be in the manifesto. The solution i made to avoid using cliches is believing in my own values and expressing myself.
getting feedbacks from others has always been a challenged to me as i have to take a deep consideration on their criticism as they have their point of view. The solution i made to solve getting feedbacks from others is trying to be open minded as i feel that their feedbacks can be a learning process for me to improve on myself.
For our group manifesto we decided to do on "Art must have meaning behind it" Matin and I agree that it should have meaning behind it as Bella denies it.
Group Manifesto:
Changes that i will made for our group manifesto is doing "a design without purpose is like a design with just decorations" as i feels like it relates to our course/modules.
i will do a values that design has a purpose for example;
our "Believes"; i believe that design should have a meaningful goal whether communicating through messages, solving problems etc.
The most impactful and particularly week for cts would be about analyzing creative practice (week 9) as i would have to speak about my representative work and design interest to other classmates as we were assigned by a number.
I feel week 9 lecture has impacted me by making me having more confident talking to my classmates, helping me on my communication skills, I also had the chance to learn from my classmates on what they are good at so that in the near future if i ever need help i know who to find.
This manifesto has benefit me in other modules like Studio; For studio we were tasked a group work to create 3 official poster, mockups and a app. I partner up with matin as he is good at creating posters.
In Summary, this manifesto has guided me through collaborative effort with Matin in studio, ensuring purposeful and align design choices in the creation of posters, mockup etc.
As a designer, this manifesto has help and contribute me by defining my values as it has help me grow to be a better designer. It has also help me have a clear guidelines for how I make choices and act in my designs. (Word Count: 459)

Connecting Practice with Society
From my understanding of what is connecting practice with society is that it involves integrating practical initiatives, actions, or activities into larger social, cultural, and community contexts. It highlights the notion that organizational or individual practices ought to be in line with the requirements, principles, and welfare of society as a whole.
Encounter that I faced connecting practice with society are:
Littering:
Encounter that i found when people were littering is that they are not afraid to throw things anywhere even though Sg has quite a high percentage of cleanliness. I feel like they take things for granted knowing sg is well known for their cleanliness, One thing that i would do to keep the percentage down from littering is maybe placing more rubbish bin and increase the price of fine for littering to minimize litter.
For todays activity we were tasked to create a short video about a local issue, Our group plan was to raise awareness about smoking kills and littering. I feel in todays society littering and smoking has been common all around the world. Fun fact about smoking; it kills more than 8 million people each year, including an estimated 1.3 million non-smokers who are exposed to second-hand smoke. As a designer I feel like to at least try them to stop smoking or littering is by creating an informational campaign by creating a informative brochure, poster or a social media post about awareness of "smoking kills" and the importance of responsible waste disposable. Connecting Theory and Practice
My personal identity:
The theory of my everyday activities are usually what i do on my daily life like waking up from bed, brushing teeth, showering and etc. It is also on your behavioral thoughts like being sad, happy, angry, anxious and so on.
My Social identity:
For social identity, its more on where you were born, your age, religion, race, culture and ethnicity. It also can be like putting a fake face of you by not showing your true colors; for example, when i am working, i always put a fake smile for the customers and my colleagues to show that I'm always happy to be there and happy to serve the customers.

My overall theory is basically that i believe that everyday is a chance for me to grow and self discover myself. I want to live my life by being true to myself and setting goals. Lasalle is a part of my journey, where i learnt to embrace myself from facing challenges that i have to overcome, making connections with others and making a positive impact and becoming the best version of myself. Creative Practice and Critical Thinking
From my understanding of what creative practice is that its a technique and method where users experiment, explore new ideas and enhance our craft.
From my understanding of what critical thinking it that it involves the ability to analyze and making smart choices based on good reasoning. Its mostly using your common sense and good judgement to decide what's best for your design project.
similarities between creative practice and critical thinking:
creative practice focus more on your skills and expertise to create while critical thinking focuses more on what you know to make informed choices.
A social issue that i discover when i was doing my project for photography:
For this solution on how critical thinking can be creative is by doing more research first and creating a mind map so that you will have a rough idea on what to do and identifying that i need to have a better lighting and brighter backgrounds.
On how creativity can be critical is that the solution i made was to have my classmate pose on a chair with hands covering parts of his faces.
As a designer i feel creative practice and critical thinking help me in a way by using creative practice it helps me to create a beautiful design where else critical thinking helps me make sure that those design works and easy to understand for people. In conclusion, it helps me create a design that is not just nice to look but also useful for people to understand. (Word Counter: 250)

Summary of World of Ideas and Imagination
My experience of WOII has been quite a ride as its peak my interest on what were going to learnt. When I heard that we would be going to use tumblr for our submission instead of google docs, I was quite surprise as it was quite a new thing for me. As I only use tumblr to get inspiration of ideas on art and design.
To be frank I was not really looking forward on the module of WOII as I thought there would not be any benefit on me but I was wrong. Every module on WOII has taught me on how I can be a better designer and express myself on ways how design works fundamentally and technically. For example one of the WOII module topic has taught me to embrace on my design and not takes too hard on people critique as some people has their own taste of art/design.
I would like to thank Edmund on guiding me through this module as I have learnt a lot of things through him and the other lecturers. Once more again I would like to thank Edmund on helping me through the module when I have doubts and unsure on what to do. THANKS EDMUND!!!

Week 12 - Art Ecosystem
From my understanding of what art ecosystem is that it includes entities that almost every art platform or organization interacts with, even if those entities are not specifically related to the arts. The most important thing before starting a company/creating a product is to know who your main consumers/ target audience are. You need to have network and connections to built up your product so that you have recognition to upsell your product/design.
I feel as a designer/student it is important to make connections from other courses so that we can collaborate in the future and help each other out. What I like about it(Art Ecosystem) is the process of starting your own design and seeing the end product of your hard work.

Week 10 - Poststructuralism
From my understanding of what Poststructuralism is that its a way of thinking that emphasizes the extreme unpredictability of knowledge, especially language, and holds that the concept of "truth" is not static but rather constantly shifts depending on your cultural, political, social, and economic standing in the world. What I dislike about it its that who has the power to control what is true and what is not. For example if you read a storybook about power and rights, some books will say that men should be leader and the women should be subservient. I feel like in todays society a lot of people stands up for what is right and wrong. For example, Women's independent's day, women's nowadays are able to find their own happiness without needing approval from others or society.
As a designer, I think Poststructuralism may help me by:
Taking into account the social context: Poststructuralism emphasizes how cultural and social contexts influence meaning and interpretation. This might inspire me to think about the social and cultural contexts in which my designs will be used and to create them with those contexts in mind as a designer.

Week 11 - Postmodernism
From my understanding of what Postmodernism is that there is no real truth to it. For example I invent a wallet some people can say that its a card holder. People will tend to believe different things and think that its the truth. We should not force people to believe that the item that we had is correct and other peoples opinion are wrong, it will just meant that we are just trying to get power over them.
I feel like in todays society people are trying to be always right and not listen to other peoples opinion on it, knowing there is no right or wrong answer when it comes to art. People nowadays like to reinvent people products/design knowing that they can do a better design.
As a designer I feel postmodernism is important to me because we can break a few rules regarding about the style we have because not all people will like the style you have.

Week 3 - Semiotics
From my understanding of what semiotics is, the systematic examination of sign processes (semiosis) and the construction of meaning is known as semiotics (also known as semiotic studies). Semiosis is any activity, conduct, or process involving signs, where a sign is defined as anything that conveys information to the recipient of the sign, typically referred to as the sign's meaning. Intentional meanings include words spoken with a particular intent, while unintentional meanings include symptoms that point to a specific illness. In addition to communicating meanings, signs can also convey emotions, which are typically not thought of as meanings.
I feel by using semiotics we can interpret on what the sign means and how it can helps us in today society; for example a speed limit sign that shows not to go beyond 50 km per hour knowing it can cause an accident if you go beyond it.
As a designer by applying semiotics to design we can create a more effective in conveying an idea such as:
making meaningful designs: we can make designs that are full of meaning and appeal to our audience by carefully choosing and combining signs and symbols.

Week 2 - Aesthetics
From my understanding of aesthetics is that there are different types of aesthetics. For example; Indie aesthetic, Grunge aesthetic, Soft girl aesthetic, Y2k aesthetic, Dark academia aesthetic, Baddie aesthetic, Kawaii aesthetic, E-girl aesthetic. This aesthetic is mostly used in fashion aesthetics.
Can we really define what is aesthetics as there are many different types of it. Like art, architecture, design, crafts and other elements of human creative expression.
From Cambridge Dictionary, the meaning of aesthetics is a set of principles concerned with the nature and appreciation of beauty. Both the natural and artificial sources of our experiences, as well as how we judge them, are covered by aesthetics.
Aesthetics examines how art can influence our emotions or even our beliefs, as well as why some pieces of art are appreciated more than others. What exactly is art, or a work of art, is a question that both aesthetics and the philosophy of art attempt to answer.
I feel like in todays society people have their own aesthetic fashion and interest on what they wear. As a designer, its good people have their own taste of aesthetic, so that we designer know who to attract our consumers/ people we want to collaborate with in the future.
