From self-discovery to self-acceptance. living a life full of non nuclear, non-traditional family including being the best and coolest daughter, big sister (including my fur sister), cousin, granddaughter, and aunt i can be, travel, and stay-cations, making friends and building current relationships. Trying new life experiences and events while partaking in current hobbies and interests. fully exploring and coming to terms with who I am while healing from my trauma and not repeating cycles of abuse. forming healthier habits and sticking to them. living life to the fullest but also taking time to rest and recover when needed. This is my life after turning 30.

Voting day! I'm super on edge and I don't think that feeling will immediately go away no matter who wins, but I definitely know who I'm voting for and I have good feelings about how she will do over all.
I'm not angry or hateful for people who vote for the other candidate, but I read project 2025 and that is a plan to take away most of my most important rights and freedoms.
She speaks of plans to keep or reaquire more of my rights and freedoms and is pushing to keep services that literally keep me alive and healthy. I'm sure I can find a way to pull through and make due with life if things don't work out how I hope, but it would definitely be an up hill battle, with the hill being set on fire and full of scary twists and turns.
In any case, if you live in the U.S. no matter who you vote for, remember to vote like your life depends on it.
Also, if you live in New York State like I do, flip over your ballot and vote about prop 1, the updated Equal Rights Amendment for New York state. (Actually, no matter what state you live in, flip over your ballot as their may be important stuff on the back of your state's ballots as well.

I may have spent a lot more money than planned today, but I got a lot of good stuff, too. I got taco bell, I got stuff for my emergency bag, stuff for a spa day tomorrow, a basketball, food from my local Asian market, and school supplies that I'm using partially for school, but I need more notebooks. The 3 I got today already have dedicated uses now. Pretty good day over all. Now I'm just spending time with my family's dog.

This is a hard lesson I've had to teach myself, but I'm learning it and feeling it more every day.

One thing I've done in my 30 years and several months, has been going to as many concerts and live shows as I have been able to, from big packed stadiums, to small town bars, from big time legends, to local musicians just starting out.
The most recent concert I was able to see was one I was working at as volunteer concert staff. It was a Justin Moore concert the first of this month, with 2 local opening acts.
I really love all of the genres of music that I have listened to so far. That being said, I haven't been listening to country music as much as I used to in the early 2000s. I was happy, though, because I knew many of the songs all of the bands were playing.
The concert was great overall, and the organization that puts on these concerts always treats the volunteer staff really well, especially that night when it was extremely hot and sunny outside. They kept us well fed and hydrated at no cost to us. Plus, the money goes back to the organization so they can help individuals with developmental disabilities and their family members.
Justin Moore was also amazing. He sung really well and was really nice about signing stuff for fans. The only issue was that the drunker people got, the less they followed the rules or listened to us concert staff.

So today was kind of interesting; a friend of mine from high-school (like 11 years ago) invited me to a community potluck. I didn't know what to expect, but she said she found out about it from a group of people running a booth at our first 2024 downtown block party.
Since the potluck was at a unitarian church, I was expecting it to have something to do with religion. For quite a while I have had no religion, but I do practice a spirituality of sorts, but I was going to go and support my friend, plus I saw it as a good way for us to catch up.
It turns out she's not religious either, and this was actually an event for lgbtqia+ people. As it also turns out, the unitarian church is a place for people of all faiths, not just one particular one.
So moral of this story is, don't pre-judge an event based on where it's held (at least not in this case); I ended up having a good time and getting to know others in my physical and social community who were all the furthest thing from judgmental. And I had a great time even though my friend and I were the youngest ones there.

So I was able to go to the fair last week. I actually had a great week for the most part. I started going to the fair on Thursday evening to see the first of 2 demolition derbies heald at the fair every year. It was pretty good but the action wasn't super intense until the last 20 minutes when the 9 cylinder cars were on the track.
It went 4 cylinders, 6 cylinders, and then 8 cylinders. I don't know much about cars, but that event taught me that 8 cylinder cars have a lot more power than the other 2 types of cars. I also had the best barbecue food I've ever had that night, I also had a fair fried dough and a large slushie.
The next day, I picked up my mom from the bus station, which is conveniently located right across the street from the fairgrounds. By the time I picked her up, it was 5 pm. So we went to the fair as there was a comedy show we were going to see that started at 7. Thè picture of the stage behind the net is the picture of the comedy show, they had it in our towns Baseball field, and only like 20 people came so it was real intimate, but it was also really hilarious. Plus, he's good at singing. (His name is Mike Bova; Look him up).
Before the comedy show, we caught the mid to end of an acrobat show, which was pretty incredible. The last act was the man with the stars jumper being shot out of a cannon. I got to talk to all of the performers in the acrobat show, and the comedian was really nice and talked one on one with everyone there, including my mom and me. Before we went to the show that night, I took my mom to the bbq place so she could taste how good it was, we also each had a souvenir pepsi cup thats like 40 ounces, but she didn't take hers with her when she left so now I'm stuck with 2.
The next day, Saturday, my mom and I went to the fair, starting at 12. Our plan was to ride the rides all day that day, see the exhibits, eat our favorite fair food, and then go to the last of the 2 demolition derbies. In reality, most of that happened, but there were some deviations in the plan. We did ride all the rides that we were able to age wise, but I had planned to ride each ride at least twice before I left as that is what I usually do at the fair. We did ride the bumper cars 2 times, but my stomach started getting sick after the other rides and eating, so I didn't want to go on any of the other rides more than once. My mom was also pretty tired out and needed her inhaler before we left.
We did have fair food, nothing too crazy, my mom got her first funnel cake, and I tried deep fried oreos, plus we stayed stocked up on waters and we each had a couple slushies again. I don't think we got anything else before we left because we were both feeling a bit full. But she did get me a pack of 10 special pokemon cards and a binder for them; I definitely wasn't expecting that, but I was happy. We had 2 quarters, so we tried my favorite coin pushing game that I like to play at the fair, I didn't want to waste more money on it. I did end up winning a few quarters, but I lost them again.
We also didn't end up going to the demolition derby, by 3:30pm we were feeling faired out and wanted to go back to my place (at least I did; if she wanted to stay or was bummed out about not going to the show, she didn't tell me). We ended up giving our tickets to 2 of my cousins whom we ended up running into before we left.
That was the end of my fair adventure but it was not the end of the visit with my mom, the next morning we took a bus to see my uncle who lives about an hour away and we stayed there until the next evening. It was good to see my birth family again (at least the ones who are the safest for me to be around) but I was also glad to be home with my adoptive mom and youngest brother where I feel most free and comfortable to be myself.

I'm supposed to be going to the fair tomorrow for the demolition derby, and for the day on Saturday, but it seems like the rain, tornado warning, and flood warning may have other plans for me. At least my birth mom is coming for a few days regardless of the weather.

Recently (last week), I traveled to virginia on an unplanned trip that my family was supposed to be to Florida to see family, and then a quick stop in Virginia to see family friends.
The trip was fun and interesting, but there were some major obstacles in the way as my mom and I didn't bring all of our necessary meds, we never made it to Florida but went straight to Virginia, and we left a few days early.
Also, I (pretty much the unofficial family photographer, didn't take nearly as many pictures as I planned on. I guess the last part could just be because I was too busy living in the moment most of the time, which isn't a bad thing.
Here are some of the pictures I did take.

As you can see, most of these pictures are from the Hooters we went to (it was my first time) and the Lakeside Wilderness camp we stayed at for a few days with my mom's friends.
There I took my brother and his friend fishing (I did not fish because i don't know how, but they needed supervising). I went Kyaking, I rode on a water trycicle, I swam in the water, and just had a lot more out door fun than I usually do. (I did not wear sunblock, though, so I am all kinds of burnt).
While in Virginia, I also ate too much at a Golden Coral and got a bit sick in the car, went to Hooters obviously, and went to an amusement park called King's Dominion. I had a lot of fun there, but my brother and his friend wanted to leave before the day was over, so I did not get to fully explore the park. I was supposed to go again with just adults yesterday and stay the full day, but we ended up leaving virginia Tuesday morning.
So, as you can see, several things went wrong, but I still had a great vacation. And plan on having a great, unplanned, but incredibly jam-packed summer. I will be updating this Tumblr blog often to share my life experiences, as well as my mental health blog fight4mylife.net to bring up life events and situations related to mental health and wellness.
