Week 5

The Alyssum did not survive. Most of them were falling over or already laying down. I decided it was best to just lay them to rest. (AKA cut their pods open and dispose of them in the backyard) I've put an overwatering section into my new plants word doc.

The morning glory is going great, tho! Except for the squirrels. I was able to watch from my window while one torn a plant out of the pot. I was at 8 plants in the pot and now there are 7. The decorative rocks have helped, but I've seen other types of damage😑. I am now at war with the squirrels

Week 4

My morning glory has survived! The Alyssum is struggling. I will admit I have been overwatering them both because of the heat here. I haven't been in the South for a summer while growing plants in 3 or 4 years.

The Alyssum has completely stalled in growth. Just the smallest signs of growth. I've been letting them dry out completely. Let's hope they can get to full size.

The morning glory is doing great. I'm just trying to get them to climb. I used some spare yarn to keep them on the trellis. I know they'll eventually grab on and grow up on their own.

Week 3

Decided to transfer my seedlings to a pot. I woke up late and did it during the hottest part of the day🥹 The roots were poking out their little dirt pods so I really needed to do it. Hoping the water will help them recover.

The alyssum are doing the worst from sitting on the shaded porch. They're all stretched and leaning from the move. South Carolina has tropical weather and I've never dealt with it before plantwise.

I've been growing stuff forever so I know they have a good choice of recovering and living. But still. It sucks to see them struggle.
