Best Hair Care Tips
Tumblr media
Regular Trimming
Trim your hair regularly. Removing damaged ends is the easiest way to keep wavy hair looking its best. Long hair can often go two months without a trim, but the shorter your style the more frequently you will need a trim. If you use chemical processes on your hair or frequently heat style, you won’t be able to wait as long between trims.
2. Shampoo and Conditioning
- Identify the shampoo based on your hair type. Different hair types like dry, oily and combination require different shampoos. Wash your hair with a shampoo containing silicone. These shampoos are typically labeled for curly hair or as smoothing formulas. Silicone smooths the hair shaft, preventing excess moisture from entering the cuticle. Excess moisture causes the hair shaft to swell, which leads to frizz.
- Apply conditioner to the ends of your hair and gradually work it up toward the scalp. Hair by Joey, a Seattle salon, suggests a formula with soy protein. Use your fingers to detangle your hair gently as you work the conditioner through the ends. The less you have to handle your hair while styling the easier it is to avoid frizz. Squeeze any excess moisture from your hair with a towel after you rinse the conditioner out, rather than rubbing your hair vigorously to dry. Twisting or wrapping wavy hair in a towel encourages frizz.
- Deep condition your wavy hair once a week, allowing the conditioner to soak into your hair for 10 minutes before rinsing.
3. Styling
Apply a gel or mousse styling product to your hair before blow drying to help smooth the hair shaft and prevent frizz from developing.
Be wary of using too much hairspray, which creates a stiff and unflattering look.
Handle your hair with care when styling, don’t tug or pull your hair.
4. Drying
Dry your hair with a diffuser attachment on the hairdryer. A diffuser is ideal for wavy hair because it helps create lift and body in the hair without over drying it. Over drying wavy hair leads to frizz.
5. Care
- Cover your hair from harsh environment.
- Always use a bathing cap while swimming.
- Avoid sharing brushes.
- Brush your hair before taking a shower so that you don’t have to deal with knots later.
- At night, spend a few minutes brushing your hair before you go to sleep.
- A healthy diet will lead to healthy hair. Include Vitamin B12 rich foods in your diet to avoid premature balding and hair loss.

Nail care naturally – Tips for healthy nails
We often forget how important nail care is. Nails reflect our overall health so it is essential to keep them strong and healthy. Very few people take nail care seriously, a manicure once in a while does not help in avoiding unhealthy, chipped and discoloured nails.
Here are a few tips for a way to healthy nails:
Diet: Calcium, gelatine and B-complex vitamins are vitally essential for healthy nails. If you have a balanced diet that contains all the necessary nutrients, you don’t need to worry about your nail health. In case you suffer from nail ridges (the cracks in the skin along the sides of the nails), hangnails or split nails, folic acid and vitamin C cures it. You can also Drink diluted cider and paint them with two coats of fresh lemon juice daily to strengthen them.
Keep nails clean and dry: Keeping nails clean and dry prevents bacteria from growing under them. Being in constant contact with water can result in split fingernails. If this cannot be avoided, you can wear cotton-lined rubber gloves before getting your hands into water.
Nail Hygiene:Cut nails straight across, and then round the tips at the curves for maximum strength. Use a sharp nail scissors or clippers. Keep nails shaped and free of snags by filing with an emery board. Do not bite fingernails or remove the cuticle as it can damage the nail. Avoid using your nails as a tool, for example to open pop cans.
Moisturize: When moisturizing your hands, rub moisturizer into your nails and cuticles too.
Tips especially for Toenails:
Trim toenails regularly: Keeping them short will minimize the risk of trauma and injury. If you suffer from ingrown toenails, avoid digging them out especially if they are infercted and sore. See a dermatologist for treatment.
Footwear: Healthy toenails depend on the kind of footwear you choose to use daily.  Wear shoes that fit properly. Also alternate which pair of shoes you wear each day. If you are at a pool or in public showers, wear flip flops. This will reduce the risk of infections caused by a fungus that can get in your toenails.

Tips For Safe Hair Removal
Shaving
Tumblr media
When you shave some portion of the hair is left behind and this technique doesn’t take the hair out from the root. The hair that is left behind causes widening of pores, skin darkening and in-growth. This leads to big dark pores on the skin which leads to skin darkening.
To avoid these problems, follow the following steps:
-          Get a soft dry brush and run it in circles over the dark pores on your legs.
-          Then soak your legs for some time.
-          Finally, apply your skin removal cream or use a new razor and only shave when you have already been in the warm or hot shower or bath for a while.
Doing all of this will help to eliminate these pesky pores from showing up.
Pumice stone
Tumblr media
This is a very effective method of cleansing your skin, eliminating dark pores and getting rid of unwanted hair if the growth is less. Exfoliation helps get rid of the dead skin cells and also allows fresh skin cells to resurface. You can exfoliate in several different ways. First, use an exfoliating scrub that has tiny beads in it. Then, you will want to use a pumice stone followed by a washcloth or loofah to run the sudsy exfoliating scrub all over your legs. Rub in circular motions just like you did with your dry skin brush.
Epilating
Tumblr media
Another way of removing body hair is to use an epilator – a handheld device that acts like a super set of tweezers which pull out the hairs one by one from the root. The evident problem is that it comes with a lot of pain. But luckily, there are some things you can do to reduce this pain. Begin with a numbing topical cream that you can purchase at your local drug store. Apply this several minutes before using an epilator to numb the area. If you don’t want to use these methods, make sure to take a shower beforehand and make it hot! This will open the pores so that the hairs come out easier.
Waxing
Tumblr media
Followed by most of the women, waxing is the most common method of hair removal. But despite being a good method, it causes pain and skin redness. What really must be done is exfoliation before you wax or shave your legs. You also must make a point to exfoliate even in between waxes or shaving sessions. This will help to keep those pores unclogged.

This phenomenon appears all the more stranger when these unexplained bubbles appear to respond to certain sounds and rise faster with each clap. Beauty Secrets For Amazing Hair
1)      Cut It More Often
"The ends of long hair have been styled and colored so many times that they get dry and frizzy quickly," says hairstylist Serge Normant. Ask your stylist to snip less than a half inch every other month (since your hair grows faster than that, you won't lose any real length). If you wait too much longer between cuts, split ends could resplit, which means you'll have to trim away more later on.
 2)      Care for Your Scalp
Scalp treatments may sound clinical (and a little gross), but massaging a serum (like Kérastase Initialiste) or even a shampoo (try Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy Strong Lengths Nourishing Shampoo) that contains essential oils, such as avocado and coconut, into your roots a few times a week will "nourish the scalp, creating the right foundation for healthier, stronger hair with less breakage," says Francesca Fusco, a dermatologist in New York City. And don't skimp on the massage part—aim for a scalp rub that lasts a minute or two: "It stimulates circulation and promotes better scalp health," Fusco says.
 3)      Cut It Right
If your hair is in that awkward growing-out stage, ask your stylist for long layers that skim the bottom of your cut. "Long layers in the front give you the illusion of length," says hairstylist Sarah Potempa, who's worked with Julianne Moore and Brooke Shields. If you already have the length, it's sexiest when the back falls into a soft V shape that starts with face-framing layers at your cheekbones (to thin a round face) or chin (to soften a square jaw). From there, you want blended layers down to the ends. Your ends should come to a gradual point in the middle of your back. "The shape and layers keep thick hair from looking heavy on the bottom and add body to fine hair," adds Potempa.
 4)      Dry Shampoo and Dry Conditioner
Yes, dry conditioner is a thing—and you'll be happy that you know about it on day three of a blowout. Your ends start to look dry right around the same time your roots get oily. Spritz a dry conditioner, like Oribe Soft Dry Conditioner Spray, over your length but never the crown, and focus on the ends to make them shiny and soft. As for dry shampoo, it's a lot easier on hair than cleaning the old-school way, which strips away natural oils along with dirt. Mist it on your roots and massage it into your hair with your fingertips. Then do the same thing on the pieces around your face. "Long hair is so heavy that it gets weighed down easily, and the dry shampoo will also add volume," says Normant.
 5)      Avoid Topknots
Sorry, but "when you've got a ton of hair, a big knot isn't proportional to your face," says Garren. "The ideal spot for a bun or chignon is at the nape of your neck—anything in between there and the crown looks matronly."
 6)      Prevent Split Ends in Your Sleep
Satin and 600-thread-count Egyptian-cotton pillowcases create less friction than ordinary cotton ones, so your hair will be less likely to tangle or break when you toss and turn. Another option: Tie your hair into a loose loop on the very top of your head with a scarf or scrunchie. (Yup, they still exist, and they don't stress or crease your hair the way elastics can.)
 7)      Less Is More
It doesn't take that much effort to make all that hair look good. In fact, you can get away with blow-drying just your volumizer-coated roots as long as you mist the ends with a texturizing spray, such as Sally Hershberger Glam Waves. Unless your hair air-dries perfectly straight or wavy (and you're a Disney princess), that beachy wave makes all the difference. "A natural texture that's neither straight nor wavy can appear too flat and messy," says Potempa

Tomato Scrub- To Remove Acne,Pimple,Black Marks-Fresh&Glowing Skin Naturally
The thought of putting tomatoes on your face might seem strange and kind of gross at first but hear us out. Tomatoes are packed full of vitamins that are beneficial to your body and can help treat oily skin, acne and wrinkles. There are many DIY mixtures that target specific skin issues but a tomato-based scrub can be as simple as slicing a tomato and covering the exposed part with granulated sugar
 1)      Basic Tomato Scrub
 Materials Required:
·         1 Ripe Tomato
·         Granulated Sugar
·         Cutting Board
·         Cutting Knife
 Procedure:
·         Wash your face using a mild face-wash and remove any dirt or grime present on the surface of the skin.
·         Take a large ripe tomato and wash it properly under running tap water.
·         Get your cutting board ready and slice the top of the tomato with the cutting knife. The stem of the fruit can be used as a gripper and as a cleansing pad.
·         In a platter, take a single spoon of granulated sugar and make a coating of sugar on the tomato, by dipping it in the same. Ensure that the coating is even and thorough.
·         Use the tomato to make gentle rubbing movements all over the face. This will cause a mild exfoliation of the facial skin and remove the dead skin cells.
·         Once the face is evenly coated with the tomato juice, wait for a period of about 10 minutes. After this, rinse off the tomato scrub with fresh cold water and pat your face dry, using a soft towel.
  2)      Tomato & Rice Scrub
 Materials Required:
·         4 Ripe Tomatoes
·         Rice
·         A Grinder
 Procedure:
·         Soak some rice in water, for a period of about 30 minutes to 1 hour.
·         Grind the soaked rice to a coarse paste, using the grinder.
·         Wash the tomatoes properly under running tap water, to remove any grime or dirt on the surface. Cut them into fine pieces.
·         Using a blender, make a paste of the chopped pieces, until a soft puree is achieved.
·         In a mixing bowl, add together the rice and the tomato paste and gently massage it all over your face.
·         Leave the paste on for a period of about 10 minutes or until it dries off moderately.
·         Wash off using warm water.
 3)      Tomato & Wheat Husk Scrub
 Materials Required:
·          2 Ripe Tomatoes
·         Wheat Husk
·         Pure Honey
 Procedure:
·         In a small bowl, place the ripe tomatoes and mash them into a fine paste, using a fork.
·         To the mashed pulp, add the wheat husk and the honey, alternately, until a thick paste is formed. While adding the ingredients, check out for consistency of the paste. The mixture should neither have a watery consistency, nor be too hard.
·         Massage the paste all over the face and even around the neck. This paste should be allowed to remain in place for about 10-15 minutes.
·         Wash off using cool water and pat dry with a soft towel. Complete this skin care regime with your favorite moisturizer

EYELINER IDEAS
Queen Cleopatra
Feeling daring? Try this one out for fun! You'll be needing the Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner and Brush set (from the above tip) for this look. Or For this look, you will need to start in the inner corner and extend the line out. Then you will need to connect the inner wing to the outer wing by lining the bottom of your eyes. This look generally works better the thicker your eyeliner is. The inner wing can be as long or short as you want. Don't forget to throw some gold glitter on your eyes to really make the look dazzle. Lash it up
    Lash it up
Here we are going to channel the iconic Twiggy eyes and draw ourselves some lashes. Use your eyeliner to mimic thicker lashes on your bottom lashes. Any eyeliner with a sharp tip will work. This look is fairly simple but a bit difficult to master because it is all dependent on your eye shape and how comfortable you feel with bottom lashes. To start things off, make sure to prime underneath your eyes.  Next you'll take your eyeliner and create dashes that stem out from your bottom lash line. It's truly that simple.
Seeing double
Layering is not just a technique for the cold months, but for some eye catching eyeliner too. The easiest way to do this is to apply a bright eyeliner then line your eyes with a thin application of black eyeliner. With practice, this look can be recreated over the course of a few quick minutes, and it will be a new favorite go-to look.
Punk-inspired
Raccoon eyes weren't totally bad, right? Well, try this one out for size: Smudged out eyeliner, but only on the bottom. Need to brighten it up? Use a colored liner instead. The grunge factor is 100 percent here with only 50 percent of the effort. To recreate this look, use Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil ($20) and apply only to the bottom lash line, making sure to smudge as you go. For a truly rocker-chic look, use your fingers and embrace the messiness of it all. To make sure people don't mistake you as a collegiette who just never removed last night's makeup, be sure every thing else is made up: Face, hair, outfit.
Floating eyeliner
This look was seen on Rag & Bone's runway show, and while not every runway look can be debuted on the streets, let alone on campus, this minimalist-yet-edgy look deserves a try. Apply the liner to your crease in the inner corner and then follow it out so that it ends right on the bottom part of your brow bone and runs parallel to your eyebrows. Make sure to apply your mascara and keep your face fresh and simple!
Color me colored
Obviously black is not the only eyeliner color out there. Any of the eyeliner looks above can be easily recreated with your favorite colored eyeliner. If all that boldness feels like too much but you still want to experiment, you can start with just a touch, like tightlining your eyes in a color and using that same shade on your waterline, before you graduate to full-on color.

Winter skin care routine
1. Scrap the soap and harsh cleansers
Deep cleansers and soap-based cleansers tend to strip our skin of essential natural oils that we need to stay hydrated throughout the cooler months. Switch to a lightweight cream-based (for dry skin) or lotion-based (combination to oily skin) cleanser and only use a pea-size amount morning and night. Massage into your skin for no more than one minute to avoid stripping away essential oils and moisture.
2. Add a moisture-trapping layer
Your skin loses a lot of moisture in winter, which is why it’s crucial that your skin’s protective barrier is intact to prevent moisture from evaporating. Serums are designed to penetrate to the skins deepest laters, where they can protect and enforce the skin’s protective barrier while treating a specific concern (such as uneven skin tone, wrinkles or dullness). Because they’re so lightweight, serums are also suitable for more oily skin types.
3. Upgrade your night cream
If you’re not already using a heavy night cream, now’s the time to invest in one. Spending all day between the cold, windy air and indoor heating environments leads to losing a lot of moisture overnight. A heavier night cream will hydrate your skin and repair it while you sleep, so you wake up refreshed and armed against the cold winter morning.
4. Avoid really hot showers or baths
As comforting as they are on a cold night, hot baths or showers expel moisture from the skin and can leave you feeling dry, and dehydrated. Opt instead for a lukewarm bath with oatmeal or baking soda which help relieve dry, itchy skin. Most importantly, apply body moisturizer immediately afterwards to lock in moisture.
5. Add a gentle exfoliator to your routine
Dead skin piles up in the winter due to the change of weather, leaving you with layers of dead skin cells that your moisturiser has to fight through just so it can make its way to the deep layers of your skin. Invest in a weekly masque or gentle scrub to exfoliate away dead skin cells so your moisturiser can do its job!
6. Avoid astringents or harsh peels and masks
If you suffer from dry, tight or flaky skin and / or experience excema in winter, avoid the use of harsh peels, masks or alcohol-based astringents or toners. These strip vital oil from your skin and draw moisture out of the face. Instead, opt for a hydrating mask or a gentle exfoliator, like the Offects Exfoliating Polish as suggested above.
7. Continue using sunscreen
A lot of people forgo sunscreen in winter, however the sun’s rays are still harmful no matter what month it is – not to mention, sun exposure is one of the primary culprits of lines, wrinkles and uneven skin tone so it’s something that must be combatted on a daily basis. Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen to your face and hands 30 minutes before going outside, and reapply accordingly.
8. Pamper Your Lips
Lips are very sensitive to colder weather and are one of the first body parts to show signs of dehydration, which can worse the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth. Regularly reapply a good lip balm, and add a restorative lip cream to your routine to prevent dehydration.
9. Add a humidifier
The drier the air, the drier the skin.Stay hydrated by sleeping with a humidifier on and adding one to your office. This will help evenly distribute moisture and reduce the amount of moisture your skin loses while sleeping.
10. Look for antioxidants
If there’s one ingredient you should be looking for in your winter skin care, it’s antioxidants. Antioxidants are key from protecting the skin from environmental factors such as the weather, and as a bonus they also help maintain the skin’s elasticity, trap moisture and repair aging skin.

Tips for glowing skin!
Wash away excess dirt and grease
Washing the skin gently with warm – rather than hot – water cleans away dirt and grease without getting rid of the natural oils that keep it healthy and glowing. Try to steer clear of using harsh soaps or alcohol-based products that can have a drying effect.
Protect against the sun’s UV rays
Because the sun dries and ages skin, always remember to slap on plenty of sunscreen to protect from damaging UV rays. An SPF of 15 or more is essential for your face, and SPF15 for your body will allow you to top up on vitamin D without affecting the appearance of your skin.
Exfoliate to keep skin healthy and fresh
Regular exfoliation with facial peels, masks and scrub removes old skin cells and encourages new ones, leaving the skin healthy and smooth. Liquid exfoliants containing glycolic acid from sugar cane are quickly absorbed by skin and work in a similar way, while microdermabrasion crystals made of aluminium oxide are also good for promoting the turnover of skin cells.
 Kick the cigarette habit
Collagen and collagen production are vital for maintaining the skin’s elasticity and complexion. Smoking cigarettes can age the skin and leave it looking leathery. Research shows this is because smoking accelerates the breakdown of collagen as well as reducing its production.
Moisturise to keep your skin hydrated
Air-conditioning and central heating can both affect the skin’s moisture levels. Moisturising oil or water-based emollients improve the texture of the skin by ensuring skin cells remain hydrated. Other products containing vitamin A, bionic poly hydroxyacids and amino acids work by assisting the formation of collagen fibres, acting against the visible signs of aging.
 Enjoy a balanced diet
Prevent your skin from drying out and ensure it’s well-nourished by eating drinking plenty of water and eating well. Both will help your skin to do its job, and will leave it looking and feeling good. There are also certain foods that are known to be good for the skin. Nuts and seeds, for example, provide essential fatty acids that help to keep the skin glowing.
Get a good night’s sleep
If you’re burning the candle at both ends, this will show in your complexion. Sleep deprivation and stress can make your skin look tired and older than it should, while washing off any make-up will reduce the risk of blocked pores and infection. Sleep regularly and deeply and your skin will stay healthy.
