Elena Possokhova y Zoya Volkova: apartamento con arte

Elena Posokhova y  Zoya Volkova diseñaron un edificio de 86 metros cuadrados. metros en una casa nueva en el territorio del complejo residencial "Mishino". La zona residencial cerca de Moscú está ubicada en un bosque: el pueblo consta de edificios de apartamentos privados de madera y de poca altura.

El interior fue creado por iniciativa del estudio de arte ART MADE para presentar el concepto de introducir las obras de artistas contemporáneos en el interior. El propio cliente es muy aficionado al arte, por lo que apoyó la idea de colaborar con los autores. Además de la demostración de objetos de arte, se suponía que el apartamento también se convertiría en un lugar para relajarse y reunirse con amigos, artistas y diseñadores.

“Queríamos crear un espacio vivo y ligeramente ecléctico que pudiera complementarse fácilmente con nuevos objetos”, dicen los autores del proyecto. "Tenía que ser un interior que siguiera el ritmo de las tendencias modernas en arquitectura y diseño".

The title of the exhibition refers to the specific space of the Kunsthalle as a former swimming pool building and at the same time to one of the current tendencies to get closer to nature - 'forest bathing'. The central theme of the international set of art videos and films is body and nature. In their audiovisual works, artists record personal or shared bodily experience, physical contact and even immersion in nature. The body and nature are represented by a different approach, from a documentary record to an intimate statement.

In the introductory video, we immerse ourselves together with the artist Endre Koronczi into the waters of the Ploubuter Park National Park, which has become an experimental place for his work. The author draws attention to the environmental issues through the absurd installations made of transparent plastics.

Also in the case of the videos by Anton Čierny and Otto Hudec, the artist's entry into the country points to the consequences of the impact of human activity in the broader context of political and environmental contexts. Through music, Oto Hudec creates a dialogue with the majestic but every year smaller Adishi Glacier. Anton Čierny's video is an intimate memory through which the author deals with current social problems such as the economization of the country and its drastic change based on political interests. Josef Dabernig's film presents a landscape disrupted by industrialization, the intersection of a river and cement blocks with fragmentary body images. The documentary quality of the film material avoids the aesthetization, it wants to be a section of everyday reality in its unadulterated form. The documentary material appears also in the work of the author duo Elena Mazzi & Sara Tirelli, which depict the ever-changing geographical and morphological structure of Etna through a fictional character who becomes a thread of the narrative structure of the video.

The movement of the body in the country as a metaphor for the process of navigation in the field of emotions is the subject of video works by both Vanessa White and the artist Pepe Beas, whose voyage in a frozen river is a journey into the spiritual depths of the human soul. For Myriam Moreno Martinez, the body itself is an integral part of nature. In her work, the author seeks her own identity within feminist-spiritual concepts.

The effort to erase physical boundaries and merge the body with nature, in this case by immersion in the stream of digital emotions, is found in the work of Svetlana Spirina. The body as a tool that changes meaning within different concepts is the domain of the performative artist Sajan Mani. The shore is becoming a specific space that raises questions about immigration, transnationalism, borders and identity.

Video works of Weronika Izdebská and Zuzana Križalkovičová will take us to the cold countries of Iceland and Finland. While Weronika Izdebská prefers a poetic narration of body and nature, Zuzana

Križalkovičová's performance is a record of the creation of a new reality in connection with the natural phenomenon of aurora borealis. Video as a medium that allows bridging time and space and at the same time is a record of the author's performance, is also used by Šárka Koudelová who sensitively indicate the connection with the soil of the country where she comes from.

Description of the project

In her works, the artist often appeals to manual labor, and her favorite technique — embroidery — is the basis of the concept of the chair „Es Borador” The image of the hoop, a traditional tool for classical embroidery, became the determinant. It formed the basis of the shape of the chair. The fabric used for the upholstery, conveys the essence of the artist's creativity.

The textil was created in collaboration with artist. The work embodies the artist's interest in perception of universe. In the artist's work, the snake represents a woman's nature changing under the circumstances, which is enclosed in an unshakable stereotype, a terrarium where the behavior depends on the norms and rules established by the patriarchal society. A limited collection of fabrics conveys this philosophy. The pattern and texture resemble snake scales, yet they are adapted to any interior. All of it was developed at the manufactory in the homeland of the artist, in Valencia.

MY LIFE, MY RULES

Thanks to last year’s Aristocrazy Design Bootcamp we met Myriam Moreno, a young doctorate student with her own jewellery brand. Conceptual and creative, her pieces show the development of ideas and concepts from the visual arts and performance.

The Valencian searches to build a renewed imagery for women and, after falling in love with her artefact that made us own the passing of time, we invited her to develop a capsule that celebrated women, equality and gave us a voice. There’s where My Rules was born.

A sterling silver medallion where to engrave a message, in 22 characters, to tell whatever we want. A jewel that gives us the freedom to express ourselves individually in a way that makes us feel comfortable, accepting that we are different and must not fit in a preestablished pattern.

This commitment with ourselves is what makes us capable of creating our own path towards our destiny. Let´s celebrate the now, who triumphs today and the support to the changes that brings us all together as equals.

The oceans, origin of life, fertile womb of the Earth, deep and full of mysteries. For many tribes big snakes live in the depths of the oceans and their movements are those that move the water, generating waves and produce calamities like tsunamis. Snakes are not always present physically but as beings or gods that are outside our field of perception. They are always, they are the source and strength containing the balance and creates chaos.

Connecting with our origin.

The water, source of life, maternal womb, what unites us and conforms. Feminine energy that flows through the world as the myth of the great water snake, possessor of knowledge. In this series composed of pieces of jewelry, lotus leaves, with serpent skin, are vessels, chalices that collect water, as yoni is a vessel of creative energy. A collection, that from the universality is nexus between cultures. Archetypes, unconscious ideas that are repeated throughout the planet, a clear reference to our connection as Valencians with the East and one of the first civilizations of humanity emerged on the banks of the Yellow River, China. Culture of merchants and sages that soaked our land with customs and elements that characterize and differentiate us. Our rice, our emblematic orange, silk and our love of gunpowder, we owe it to our oriental mother. A tribute, a reflection of how close and far we are to each other, “Mare Lotus”.

Art, jewelry, portable art?

If it is true that our culture has drawn a line between the applied arts and the proclaimed “Fine Arts”, when we talk about Contemporary Jewelery many times the line is blurred, we put a foot or even the two across the border. The applied arts, by their own definition, are those creative procedures that become a useful object, a definition that positions painting or sculpture as a creative manifestation without a clear material utility, but is considered an instrument to excite or stimulate the manifestation of the spirit. Both definitions and this clear differentiation that puts one over the other in an intellectual and even spiritual sense, does not correspond to the most contemporary artistic manifestations.

The rupture of sculpture with space and its relationship with the body open the doors to other disciplines such as performance or body pieces. And is that when we talk about Contemporary Jewelery we should not understand it as a decoration, an addition to our body or a display of status. Contemporary Jewelery is sculpture applied to the body, or inspired by it and itself. Pieces that are not always portable, collectible items that can end up in collectors showcases, as the exquisite pieces of René Lalique ended up in the Calouste Gulbenkian collection. And it is, just at the beginning of the 20th century when, like art and avant-garde, jewelry taked another path, it begined to question itself.In a context where the loss of local crafts and when some of our traditional applied arts have disappeared, it is imperative to generate discussion, conversation and creative laboratories to recover and reinvent our arts. To recover the tradition in a global context through the internationalization and the exchange to reactivate the local economy, the love for our culture and the respect for the others culture.

Art Made proposes with this exchange just this, the revaluation of the jewelry as art through the collaboration and exchange between the local artist and jeweler Myriam Moreno and the French visual artist Robin Lopvet.

Equal Passes

Texto por Alba Braza Boils: Equal Passes, o pases igualitarios, es un proyecto que consta de lo siguiente: sesenta pases con cinco mensajes diferentes que ofrecen cinco situaciones que no siempre se conceden a las mujeres; encuestas dirigidas a recoger y analizar la experiencia de las mujeres que se han ofrecido a llevar un pase; información sobre cuestiones relativas a la desigualdad de género y un buzón de sugerencias presentados en una mesa de información que cuenta con la presencia de la artista. Equal Passes surge a partir del concepto de joyería comprometida y reivindicativa. Una joyería, o adorno corporal, que se entiende desde la construcción de uno mismo, desde la mirada y la provocación en el otro. Adornos que colocamos para mostrar quiénes somos y qué lugar ocupamos en la sociedad en que vivimos. Tal y como la artista describe, «la joyería es ese arte que se mueve en todos los ámbitos, desde lo íntimo a lo público. Un medio que rompe con el marco arquitectónico para formar parte del cuerpo y con el cual se pueden reivindicar y visibilizar injusticias con el propósito de cambiarlas. Una disciplina que se encuentra entre la performance y la escultura». -White Pass «Un día sin agresiones». -Black Pass «Permiso para respon- der». -VIP Pass «Un día sin piropos». -Silver Pass «Permiso para hablar sin ser interrumpida». -Gold Pass «Permiso para hablar sin ser interrumpida» y «Tratamiento igualitario».

Los Equal Passes permiten acceder metafóricamente a distintos espacios de igualdad y tener ciertos privilegios en el Campus de Burjassot-Paterna durante el tiempo del evento. Este adorno corporal adopta la función de los pases de una feria a través de los cuales y dependiendo de su categoría se puede acceder a diferentes recintos y servicios. Los mensajes contenidos en ellos provocan y hacen visibles microma- chismos cotidianos; buscan dar lugar a la re exión crítica, a nivel individual y colectivo, forzando un posicionamiento personal al respecto. Cada uno de los pases fue entregado en la mesa de información que la artista puso a disposición en una facultad diferente cada día (Farmacia, Matemáticas, Biológicas, Química y Física). Las alumnas y empleadas del campus fueron las personas que llevaron los pases, rmando previamente un contrato de aceptación y cesión de derechos de imagen. Todas ellas fueron fotogra adas y transmitieron su relato a través de un cuestionario, pasando a formar parte del archivo de investigación de la artista. La artista a cambio les regaló el objeto en cuestión. Paralelamente se trabajó en la difusión sobre temáticas y políticas de género, generando documentación que los estudiantes podían conservar. Para ésta la artista ha generado una imagen propia mediante un logotipo y coordinando grá- camente cada uno de los documentos. A modo de ejemplo, ¿Qué es el feminismo? está basado en una de nición global y simpli cada del término, Agradéceselo a una feminista reúne una serie de derechos adquiridos por las mujeres a lo largo de los últimos siglos gracias a las ideas y reivindicaciones de los movimientos feministas. Por otro lado, Diccionario de la igualdad es un total de ocho pegatinas con la de nición de los términos: segregación en el mercado laboral, acoso sexual, democracia paritaria, mansplaining, coeducación, discriminación positiva, techo de cristal y derechos reproductivos. Dicha documentación quedaba a disposición en la mesa junto con un buzón para depositar denuncias anónimas. Para la correcta documentación y estudio que deviene de la acción, las denuncias de cada día depositadas en el buzón se guardaron en sobres diferenciados, correspondiendo a cada sobre una facultad y día diferente. Con toda la documentación recibida la artista ha realizado una carpeta que recoge todos los elementos que componen la acción, así como el estudio con los resultados del ensayo. Respecto al análisis de la experiencia extraído a partir del cuestionario rellenado por las participantes, se recogen sensaciones muy variadas al portar las piezas. Desde un sentimiento de convicción y empoderamiento, a sentimientos de miedo e inseguridad. Sin embargo, los comentarios recogidos sobre terceros han sido muy similares. El debate generado por las piezas ha conllevado en la mayoría de los casos bromas y comentarios sexistas, o del tipo «estamos bien, no es para tanto». Algunas de las participantes relatan haberse sentido con ánimo de seguir las conversaciones hasta el nal y generar debate. Cuando esto ocurre existe un cambio en el entorno, se les otorga la importancia que socialmente no se les concede a estas discriminaciones sutiles y aceptadas que generan brechas y mayores consecuencias negativas en nuestras vidas. El pase con el que más cómodas se sintieron las participantes fue “Permiso para responder”. Al portarlo no solo se han sentido con mayor libertad para reclamar su turno de palabra, sino que se generaba un ambiente de conversación más pausado y respetuoso con los turnos de palabra de todas y todos los interlocutores. La mayor interrupción de las mujeres en conversación no es un fenómeno consciente, aunque sí social, por lo tanto el verbalizarlo con un mínimo de concienciación puede ser útil para paliarlo.

VANITAS PILORUM

Lo vacuo, lo insignificante, como el pelo que queda atrapado en el cepillo. La preocupación por el aspecto y la pérdida de la juventud, efímero momento que se escapa como la arena entre los dedos. En esta serie establezco un diálogo entre lo perdido, lo que se perderá y lo que no pudo ser, entre lo que es bello y lo que es “feo” o carece de valor. El pelo que se va depositando en el cepillo, junto con otras fibras textiles, representan el paso del tiempo, lo que ya se ha perdido y no se podrá recuperar. Algo que fue bello y ya no es más. El cabello recupera su fuerza y “belleza” al posicionarse de igual a igual con las perlas, gema preciosa asociada con lo femenino. Un grito lanzado al viento que clama la exaltación del paso del tiempo, de los cambios, de la madurez femenina, de otros tipos de belleza.

Con motivo del Fem Tour Truck repetí la performance junto con un espejo que involucra al espectador. Una reflexión interna de lo que consideramos bello o aceptable, como estos condicionantes sociales distorsionan la imagen que tenemos de nosotrxs mismxs. También con motivo del Fem Tour Truck, se pasearon algunas piezas de joyería contemporánea realizadas con mi cabello entre los asistentes como “canapés” de artista. Estas piezas están realizadas con el cabello que se quedó en el cepillo, guardado y aplicado sobre una base metálica y perlas de distintas variedades. La objetualización del cuerpo llevada al extremo, un juego entre lo atractivo, lo comestible, lo consumible y lo repulsivo o no aceptado.
