The Disappearance of Virginia Carpenter
Virginia was a bright young student at the age of 21.
Excited and full of life, she decided to enroll in college. Little did she know that her goals would be lost forever. While on a train in Dallas , Virginia met a middle aged teacher who also happened to be enrolling. Once they reached the train's final stop, it was decided that they would get a cab to campus together. Reaching their destination, it was discovered that her bags had been left at the station. She took a cab back only to find that her bag was on another train and would not be delivered till the next day.
She once again rode back to campus, unaware of what awaited her. She got out of the cab and approached a cream colored convertible with two men inside. The cab driver may very well have been the last person to ever see her alive again.
Virginia's boyfriend hadn't heard from her in a few days and decided to try contacting her through her mother. After calling the campus, she found out that her daughter never enrolled.
Panicked, she called the police and started driving that same night.
News of the missing girl spread like wildfire as what started out as a missing persons case turned into a state wide man hunt. Calls often came in with claims of her burial site and even her sightings.
One theory even suggested that she had fallen victim to a serial killer named "The Texarkana Phantom" as several of her friends had fallen victim themselves.
It is unlikely that she will ever be found as she would now be 91 years old and her family has all passed as well. Was she kidnapped? Murdered? Sold into the sex slave industry? We may never find out, but who knows. In this world, anything is possible.
