Watching G1 Transformers "Starscream's Brigade"

Little Domestic Squabbles.

A Starscream episode! YAY!! IT's been way too long.

Anyway we open with Screamer whining about how much everyone likes Shockwave. Wow where did this come from?

Wow we get a very sexy shot of Megs showing off those giant legs by kicking Screamer over. They squabble over leadership and Screamer runs off swearing revenge.

Screamer gets dropped off on and island and decides to basically make his own army. And he actually does it!? God Damn he's such a genius!

He basically makes a whole new crew of Decepticons and successfully blackmails them into following him? Damn Screamer where was this side of you the last 40+ eps?

"Swindle" is another name I've heard in fanfic. So we now have a fourth giant combiner team?

Yay OP has a statue now. Which Screamer immediately destroys.

Screamer isn't a half bad manager actually? Says something encouraging and breaks up the infighting?

Shocky gets to cameo again here to give Megsy the news. Was wondering why they brought him up.

"Optimus Prime Memorial" can something be Too Soon if it happens BEFOREHAND?

We have this hilarious conversation between Megs and OP being like "what are you talking about" it's hilarious and Megs figures out who's really responsible actually so I guess he took his smart pills this ep.

"Their little domestic squabble is none of our concern" LOL OP apparently ships them.

Screamer somehow sweet talks his way out of his own army turning on him. He's such a smart boy.

"He couldn't lead them in a parade" OMG TFA MEGS GOT THAT LINE FROM SOMEWHERE

HAHA the Stunticons are like "screw you we're having fun".

"WHO IS THE NEW DECEPTICON LEADER!" Damn that was cool.

Anyway Screamer outright corners Megs and almost successfully takes over. Damn Megs you're lucky the Stunticons picked you.

And he just exiles Screamer to an asteroid with an army. Because as t:One Orion would tell you that's what you do to someone who tries to kill you. Maybe they really are married lol, what other explanation is there for why Megs keeps letting him get away with all this.

Watching G1 Transformers "Kremzeek!"

Bout time Megsy got a pet. Gotta get over the divorce somehow.

OK, after that heavy punch of the last two eps, we get back to business as usual. Megs and Screamer doing some science experiment that...creates...wtf is that.

Great job Megs. Maybe leave the science stuff to the scientist. Though Megs immediately tries to adopt it and it's kinda cute?

Anyway he traps him in a box and damn I never knew I needed Megs to have a weird pet but here we are. Ravage is gonna get jealous.

Anyway he plants him in the autobot base and it's actually pretty effective. It's also kind of annoying because it keeps saying its own name.

Optimus walks in being shot from behind at a very fabulous angle swaying his hips and all. Anyway Sparky makes him immune.

Well Megs that didn't last long. Do the autobots work like Batman, they just magically have cures lying around for whatever Megs has planned? "Hand me down the shark-repellant Autobot spray"

Anyway the thing gets into the not-Internet and screws up all earth comms. Haha. Imagine how deadly this thing would be now.

The thing invades Japan, no doubt inspiring half of all anime.

Aw Megsy is so proud of his evil lil pet. I think he's been nicer to things thing in two minutes than he's been to Screamer in 50 episodes.

Does this thing have a toy? Also OP headbutts someone AGAIN in this ep. I wonder if he's gonna start taking circuit-damage at this point.

Not relevant to anything but Screamer's hips are especially fabulous in this episode.

Are the Japanese people actually. Not speaking English? Wow that's improvement. I mean I don't think it's actual Japanese either but. Progress I suppose? Though there's plenty of obviously white blondes hanging around Tokyo.

They meet a somewhat stereotypical Japanese scientist, though I guess it could be worse. Guy helps em out.

The energy thing duplicates itself and OP has such a headache. Go call up your ex and tell him to put a tighter leash on the new pet.

Anyway the cons are working with their latest Superweapon. Given Megsy's track record I'm assuming it's gonna blow up in his face in the next five minutes.

Wow hey it's basically a giant EMP. Not bad for one of Megsy's dumb toys. Still think it'll blow up in his face.

Anyway the bots unleash Megsy's new pet straight at the energy weapon and he blows it up. HAHA. Hoist by His own Petard.

Bumblebee actually calls him cute and OP is like "KILL IT NOW" Wow once again G1 Prime shows off his darker side. I mean he doesn't want to look but still. Guess the whole "freedom is the right of all sentient beings" thing was a later development.

Watching G1 Transformers "Cosmic Rust"

Oh you think this is traumatic, kids? Just wait. The movie isn't out yet.

Oh dear. Cosmic Rust. That's a term I've heard in fanfic - and not in a good way.

So anyway we join our fearless heroes main villains on another quest for a MacGuffin on a dead planet.

Screamer what happened to your brain, you're supposed to stop Megs when he does stupid things. But no here you're all "I see your stupidity and I will top it"

The comments all point out how Screamer's smart scientist brain figured out an ancient console in seconds flat. We love our (usually) smart science boy.

Anyway they get a warning to "not mess around with this planet dumbasses you will die", and being stupid, they mess around with it.

Megsy gets a piece of the rock in his shoulder and gets infected. And holy shit Frank Welker's performance is SOOOO good in this episode!? Like legitimately his best voice acting so far.

I'm guessing it's because he's allowed to show an emotion other than "screaming at the top of his lungs" as he gets infected.

And shit the build-up is so good. Such great horror tension, keeping him in shadows, back to the wall. Letting us build it up.

OH SHIT Geez it really is scary. Poor Megs. For once I feel bad for him. THEY LET HIS HAND FALL OFF. OMG. Soooo scary.

WHAT THE FUCK RESEARCH TELLS ME THIS WAS AN AIDS REFERENCE!? Holy shit. Um. That got dark.

I mean, is it even saying anything about AIDS other than "Sure would be nice if an alien scientist invented a cure for it". I mean yeah. It would.

Anyway Megs kidnaps preceptor and takes his cure, then infects the Autobots deliberately, being an asshole.

We basically get back to business as usual, and they don't really play the horror element of the Rust plague with the Autobots so much. Just kinda turns into your typical action plot, unfortunately.

I meant's nice and all but I would've liked a more 'creepy horror movie' episode. They started off with those vibes why'd they stop?

I guess "It's ok for kids to see Megs horrifically decaying because he's the villain and they don't care but the autobots would traumatize them"

Then again they clearly didn't care about traumatizing kids what with the movie killing everyone off and all, so I don't know why. Guess it needed more action.

Statue of Liberty climax? Torn between Saboteur jokes and Planet of the Apes jokes. Anyway they all get cured, happy ending, forget about the horror movie stuff kids. One day this stuff will actually be used to kill off beloved autobots, but not today.

Watching G1 Transformers "War Dawn"

Is this why people are gonna be shipping us for 40+ years?

OMG it's the backstory episode!!! Yes yes let's GOOOO

LOL Megs captured most of earth's world leaders huh? Honestly you can have em Megs. I for one welcome our new alien overlords.

The aerialbots go all fanboy over the Cons lol girl same. Though actually it is an interesting idea - they're new, so they don't really understand what makes one side good or evil.

Screamer you are such a bad actor lol the only reason anyone is fooled is that your adversaries are kind of stupid.

Megs you can probably find an easier way to take care of these mild annoyances than "throw them back to the start of time potentially upsetting the space time continuum". It's always go big or go home with you.

BACKSTORY FINALLY! And haha "Who could this Orion Pax guy be". I feel like this 'twist' has less impact now.

G1 Orion actually reminds me a bit of Tf:One D16? The guy who just wants to do his job, not bother with the bigger picture. Very interesting - And a very different origin for Orion than t:One?

"Keep away from her" geez Orion creepy much!? I guess this was less creepy and possessive back in 1985, now it makes him seem like a bit of a jerk.

WAIT HE ACTUALLY KNOWS WHO MEGATRON IS!? HE ADMIRES HIM AND LOOKS UP TO HIM? HOLY SHIT I WAS JUST KIDDING ABOUT THEM BEING DOOMED YAOI IN THIS CONTINUITY, THEY ACTUALLY DO HAVE A CONNECTION!?

Seriously I'd thought G1 Megs and OP barely knew each other. This is actually quite a revelation to me. They've always had a backstory connection, even from day 1? Wow.

I mean it's not as intense as other continuities, which seem to keep topping themselves in terms of how close they were. Still though.

And hey with the D16 parallels, Megs here is kinda like, for Orion what Sentinel was for him. The guy he looks up to who ends up betraying him.

Curious how D and G1!Orion kind of have the same experience in a lot of ways? Their idol turns out to be a bad guy, they get betrayed. Maybe it was Megs gunning down Ariel and Dion that kept Orion from, you know. Ripping him in half.

And this origin for Orion also kind of reminds me of like, the difference between Steve Rogers and Tony Stark. Like Tf:One Orion is very Steve - the already noble hero who just needs the power to do good things, while g1!Orion is more like Tony, the flawed anti-hero who has to learn a hard lesson and become a hero. Very different arcs in a way.

I'm glad they threw in that line about Ariel becoming Elita. Stopped them from just Fridging here, did something infinitely cooler.

Guess they still fridged Dion though. Wiki tells me there are infinite fan theories for what the hell happened to him.

Anyway OP shows up all Optimus Primed (Hey, Alpha Trion built him here, just like he gave Orion and co Cogs in t:One! Another connection!) Oops Megs you accidentally made your worst enemy.

I feel like in-universe if the Aerialbots told this story they'd get yelled at for their self-insert Mary Sue fanfic. Like "sure you guys saved Optimus Prime, sure you're the reason he survived. Unrealistic!"

Fascinating little lesson Orion/Optimus learns here about how Might Does Not Make Right. Again, the D16 parallels are so interesting to me. D also looked up to Megatonus and Sentinel for being strong, hence the whole Decepticon philosophy. Again, I think Megs killing Dion and injuring Ariel is a big factor in Orion turning into Optimus and not. Y'know. Ripping in half and all.

Anyway the Aerialbots get back to the present and how does this time travel loop even work who cares we got backstory we got flashbacks we got the origins of the doomed yaoi and of Orion (and Elita, though they didn't do a ton with her). YAY! Great episode.

Watching G1 Transformers "Trans Europe Express"

Oh scrap no 1980s Americans trying to portray other countries. This is gonna end badly.

Anyway Megs and Soundwave are in Istanbul threatening people for info. Everyone inexplicably speaks English. (Including the alien robots which I've always kinda wondered about?! Why do Megs and Soundwave bother with it?)

This sage guy is kinda cool. Gives Megs a cryptic warning. Why do Megs and Soundwave feel more like the protagonists than the autobots at this point?

Oh Paris now! I guess we are running around Europe as our protagonists villains go on a quest for the MacGuffin. And meanwhile the autobots are racing humans and getting yelled at by stupid humans. Our species is so obnoxious.

This guy is such a dick he's yelling at the autobots for racing for charity. You're somehow making Megs look more heroic by comparison.

For real tho Megs IS more heroic than plenty of humans out there. Also the Stunticons are in this ep again.

Dead End is the second Stunticon name I've learned far. Trying to keep track of em as best I can. They sure have been around a lot the last few eps haven't they?

This ep is so weird one half race ep one half Megaton Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Pearl.

Megs given your track record of Ultimate Power in this series so far I wouldn't really count on this latest McGuffin being any better. Also with this and the ruby Megs sure likes his fancy jewelry.

Ooh but wait it's Cybertronian!? Holy shit how much Cybertronian scrap landed on earth in the past!? Megs wants to become Storm!

LOL THAT SHOT OF MEGS JUST. Holding Bumblebee like that.

Weather machine duel ensues fight fight fight. Apparently climate change is Megatron's fault.

I feel like Menosaur gets used less as the Big Combiner Form than Devastator does in other media. Maybe it's the name?

And resident jerk human has a redemption arc I guess.

That was fun but OMG THE NEXT EPISODE IS THE BACKSTORY EPISODE!? Holy Shit. Cannot WAIT to see how it compares with tf:One. How do they become doomed lovers in this universe.

Watching G1 Transformers "Masquerade"

Optimus is gonna need one hell of an icepack.

Screamer is back! Damn I was getting worried for him. No mention of the 'attempted murder' bit, so I guess we'll just forget it.

Fandom informs me that the Stunticons are fairly well-liked characters, so I will try and learn their names lol (be patient w/me, there's like ten million characters in this franchise and I'm new)

Megs why are you stealing rubies. Do you just want to look fabulous?

Holy shit OP that looked like it HURT. What the hell is Optimus made of he just took a headbutt from a Con his own size and walked off.

Wow the bots are gonna impersonate the stunt icons!? So that's why the episode has that name!

Breakdown - the one name I kind of know now - breaks them out of prison haha. Also damn I would NOT want to be fighting the autobots, look at those cells. Megs is braver than I am.

Screamer IMMEDIATELY notices something's up, Megs ignores him, because of that he will fail. It is the law of the g1 Transformers show.

Optimus you are a terrible actor. The only reason you aren't caught here is that Megs is kind of a moron.

They have the goofiest "Which one is the real one" fight. I love how hilariously confused everyone is. Also are the Stunticons basically newborn kids at this point!? Are Transformers just born fully operational? Or do I need to call Child Labor Laws on both leaders now?

The damn weapon once again completely gyps Megs on the Ultimate Power deal. He really needs to get some better super weapons.

Wow and it just blows up. Seriously OP you don't even have to stop this guy he screws himself over all on his own.

Watching G1 Transformers "The Key to Vector Sigma Part 2"

So did Alpha Trion just...die? You know, it was really unclear.

For the first time in a while I feel like the autobots are showing some personality besides "cleaning up Megsy's messes". I'm actually starting to learn their names and everything.

"Silverbolt" is the one name of the new flying autobots that I recognize from fanfic. And hey now there's Jet-Autobots!

Shockwave makes a cameo! Feels like he should get to do more. So they come back to earth top stop Megs. And is Omega Supreme blowing up!? Did he just die? You know it was also really unclear.

So that's Ratchet, the Medic! Another name that shows up a lot in fanfic. OP's second most popular ship from what I can tell. They seem nice I guess.

The humans remain as stupid and annoying as always. And one of the new Jet Autobots lampshades this!? OK I like these guys.

Anyway big robot fight Car Decepticons vs Flying Autobots. Makes for interesting new choreography.

Stunticons and Aerialbots. Engaging new teammates. I know they had to do this to sell toys but the writers definitely made the most of it.

OP's such a good, cute leader. And we get a little more Soundwave, plus the new Bots watching TV and grumping about humanity.

Meanwhile Megs and Soundwave learn they can turn Earth into Cybertron 2.0. Damn this two parter is so epic!

"Gimme a visual" OP asks and the camera weirdly seems to focus on Megsy's crotch. Nice view. Anyway the comments have fun with OP's exasperated "Good Grief" here. LOL.

Wow the Aerialbots didn't take long to go Starscream on OP's ass. WTF is Screamer anyway? Megs if you deactivated him I'm gonna -

Anyway fight fight fight. Leader guy convinces the other Aerialbots to help out. Go away Car Cons you're interrupting the latest OPvMegs brawl.

Anyway air autobots vs. car cons. They unite into two new combiner forms. Menosaur vs Superion. Awesomeness. The latter looks a bit like Grimlock.

Oh and Omega Supreme too. And Megs isn't taking crazy pills for once so he retreats. Darn I was hoping for an OP vs Megs fight.

That really got sooo much more interesting so quickly. All of a sudden we're in a new genre, and I thought this ep would be boring.

Alpha Trion being kind of a goofy old man in this show is funny coming from Tf:One where he's like, this wise old god.

Megs I feel like this is going to a lot of trouble to just get some new troops. I mean do you need to take a fabled space mission to the planet's core every time you need new recruits?

SW and his cassettes do a lot in this ep...feel like I don't say it enough but - Soundwave Superior.

Both OP and Megs do some fabulous hands on hips poses in this ep.

So I guess this Vector Sigma thing is kinda neutral with regards to the fight? It just does what Megs says.

And we meet the new toys, including "Breakdown", which is the one name I've heard in fanfic before. I take it he's the favorite?

Anyway OP's all like "two can play at that game Megsy" and makes his own new squad. And humans being stupid assume the Autobots did this.

Carly's back! I hope she tore Spike a new one for all his hitting on other girls in the last set of eps.

And we're introduced to our toy advertisement for the episode, an Autobot named Hoist. Who gets a job in Hollywood. Because Mad Libs.

And hey Megsy and Screamer are in this ep at least. And wow Megs has a stick up his ass this ep why's he blaming Screamer for nothing?

I'm wondering how the Autobots even know what Hollywood/movie stars/fame etc are? Are there movies on Cybertron?

The cons crash the movie set huh. Was Megs really bored today and needed to kill time?

Megs why are you being such an especial dick to Screamer in this episode? This is kind of weird, he's normally not THIS much of an asshole.

I mean he wasn't this shitty to Screamer when Screamer tried to blow up the planet he was on. WTF happened in this ep?

I wonder if the writers had already got the bad news that they were gonna kill everyone off in the movie to sell new toys and this was their way to criticizing Hollywood for its stupidity? (Yeah I've been spoiled about that. How couldn't they see that was a bad idea)

Yikes. I'm starting to have a very visceral reaction every time Megsy goes full on abuser towards Screamer. I mean I love Megs but. The way he treats Screamer can be so awful sometimes. Makes me start yelling "die die die don't hurt my bb" at the screen. Yikes.

Anyway Carly continues to be the most useful human. And Soundwave just appears out of nowhere and blasts them.

And HAHA Carly outwits Megs LOL really satisfying after him being so shitty this ep to see a normal human screw him over.

JEEZ he threatens to do the same thing to someone else?! Primus wtf is up with Megs in this episode!?

Holy shit Hoist bluffs him and pretends to kill Spike and Carly that was real badass. Good on you man.

Watching G1 Transformers "Sea Change"

Tale as old as Time/True as it can be...

Wow, between this, Powerglide and OpLita the show sure has been on a romance kick lately!

LOl wow Megs how desperate were you for help to hire this shmuck? He reminds me of the vampire in the bathtub from Buffy's Bad Girls.

If this hadn't come out before The Little Mermaid I'd swear they were ripping off Disney Princess movies, with the When you Wish Upon a Star vibes.

HOLY CRAP THERE'S AN IN-UNIVERSE WAY TO TURN HUMANS INTO CYBERTRONIANS!? Or anything?! I can't believe Spike & Carly never used this.

I mean OMG guys, there's like, an in-universe way for characters to transform into WHATEVER they want. This should be a game-changer, like, it should be the big new McMuffin Megsy is after and the bots have to defend.

But LOL it's not. It's just an excuse for a goofy romance plot. It's like someone's fanfic actually made it into the show.

I do think it would be neat to have some future series use this plot device to turn some of the cool human characters into Cybertronians though. I've seen some fan designs of Carly as a transformer and they ROCK.

Megsy seriously where did you dig up this idiot. I feel embarrassed for you.

Anyway so there's this odd little mermaid-Cybertronian romance between Sea Spray and this woman called Alanna. And they both try turning into each other's species to please one another.

But in the end they decide to stay themselves and just keep on dating. Like if Beauty and the Beast didn't change the beast back. Very cute and stuff. Try not to think too hard about it lol.

Watching G1 Transformers "Triple Takeover"

Transformers Triple Takover. Such alliteration.

HAHA the main Cons put their faces on a mountain. I for one welcome our new decepticon overlords.

OMG SOMEONE besides Screamer is FINALLY questioning Megsy's leadership!? BOUT FREAKING TIME! Blitzwing and Astrotrain you took smart pills at some point?

HAHA Screamer gets tricked by them into diverting Megsy into a trap. And talks to him without opening his mouth. Anyway it's hilarious how easy Megsy is to trick.

"The decepticon who plans his escape is hardly a failure" Wow that was a great line delivery. But poor Screamer they double cross him. Screamer never trust your fellow DECEPT-icons.

To quote Agent Burns (Yes I have seen the Bumblebee movie) "They call themselves Decepticons. That doesn't raise any red flags?"

Anyway Blitzwing recruits a football coach to help him take over the Decepticons. I love this show and how awesomely stupid it is sometimes.

Blitzwing is VERY different here than his TFA counterpart. That version was a loopy triple changer who...never mind.

I wonder what the writers were smoking to come up with this plot? I guess it was supposed to promote Blitzwing's toy? What a weird proper intro to him.

HAHA OMG THIS IS THE ORIGIN OF "I'M STUPID I'M STUPID" Another Screamer scene that's become kind of a meme.

Yeesh. I'm wincing just watching Megs step on his hadn't like that. Also take a drink for "Megsy drops someone off a cliff" haha cries

Ooh OP Megs and Screamer suddenly confronting each other. AND OP ACTUALLY MANIPULATES MEGSY INTO GOING AFTER THEM. Holy shit Prime that was real sneaky.

Megsy then promptly goes Yandere on the triple changers and Devastator because OP acts like "Yes Megsy I totally think the others are cooler than you" Megsy's all like "NO NO NO I'M YOUR RIVAL NOT THEM!" HA!

"Megatron is a wimp" "So is Starscream" "Yes but I'm fast" Lowkey that was kinda cool.

Megsy actually takes the high road and doesn't kill them. G1 Megs is weirdly forgiving.

And OMG that was an AMAZING MOMENT with OP at the end. "Thrones are for deceptions. Besides, I'd rather roll." He's just THE BEST.

Watching G1 Transformers "The Girl Who Loved Powerglide"

And now robot f*ckers are officially canon to the franchise! LOL

Wasn't quite expecting the titular "Gril Who Loved Powerglide" to be a whiny Veronica Lodge style spoiled brat. Also did she just quote a 60s pop song?

HAHA the YouTube comments observe it's "Still a better love story than Twilight" yeah I'll concede that.

Astoria, much like the fanbase, immediately falls for one of the bots and starts swooning. Spike points out the whole...things he CAN'T do thing...Is this an area of the canon I should explore or will I regret it?

Spike being jealous is hilarious, though HE'S FLIRTING WITH ANOTHER GIRL AGAIN. Carly whoop his ass.

They actually do get some development as a romance, with her confiding stuff in him and her tending to him. Spike your measly species is getting majorly out-rizzed here in the boyfriend department.

"You are the worst hosts" lol. Also we get some nice low-angle shots of Megsy's giant supermodel legs. I mean, I know which Mech I'd be flirting with in her shoes... (him or Screamer)

It is hilarious how much this puny fleshling annoys Megsy. Like I've been spoiled on a bit of Tf:Prime so this all reminds me of Miko trolling the shit out of Decepticons in that show. Just the sheer comedy of bratty humans annoying Megsy is priceless.

Finally, at long last! A SOUNDWAVE EPISODE!! Waited far too long for Casette Boy to get a starring role.

We open with a bunch of annoying squishy white humans trying to be black by dropping embarrassing 80s slang. blah blah blah we're boring humans skip to the robots.

HAHA and the human girls IMMEDIATELY go to dance with the Autobots. Cause they're presumably as into them as the fanbase.

And hey Starscream is there with SW! And being Way Smarter than Megsy once again. Y'know I hope in the versions where Screamer and SW reform and get a happy ending they just. open a nightclub.

Hey Is that the same human from a few episodes back? Raoul? Wow I really do not remember the humans in this AT ALL.

SW and Screamer brainwash humans to do their bidding with MUSIC. LOL this show is silly sometimes.

Honestly Screamer and Soundwave should team up more often? They're both a ton more efficient than Megs.

And wow Screamer's been on a roll lately come to think of it! Led the cons back him on the toy planet, nearly killed OP and almost decimated Elita's squad, now he's hypnotizing humans with rock n roll? Megsy you really should just let him lead already.

We have also the Very Rare Nice moment between Megs and Screamer when he tells him the plans are going well.

We get a sound battle between SW and Blaster! Awesomeness. Though I'm not sure exactly how SW loses?

This was before "Soundwave Superior" kinda turned into his catchphrase, so he says "All Talk No Shock" instead.

And we get to hear him laughing which is just unsettling. But also kinda cute, which is SW in a nutshell. Anyway the bots ruin their club. Aw. I hope there's lots of "Soundwave Club Owner" Fanfic

Watching G1 Transformers "The Search for Alpha Trion"

Time for the laaaadiies! Our crew is Chromia, Moonracer, Firestar and Elita, natch!

G1 Elita's voice is awesome! Can't wait to get to meet her. I know her from Tf:One, which is what got me into the franchise, so interested to see her origin. Also hoping the cringey 80s sexism won't be too weird.

Very interesting dynamics here among Elita's squad, with Moonracer being something of a loose canon, Chromia more responsible, etc.

And yes. The Origin. The Meme. Shockwave saying "FEMALE". LOL.

What is up with gender in the G1 continuity anyway? Is there like, only a tiny faction of female bots? Were they all killed off? They don't reproduce sexually so what do those terms even mean to alien robots?

LOL Megsy is immediately like "Capture Elita one" Immediately goes for OP's girlfriend. I know it's to be "ahahahaha I've got you now" but in my head it's "eliminate the competition".

G1 Elita! She's so awesome I immediately love her. Very different from Tf:One Elita, but obviously man, she's been doing this for 4 million years. Has some EXPERIENCE.

Also what does this mean for her and OP? Do they have a huge age gap between them now? How devoted were they for her to still be into him 4 million years later? Are they conjunxed?

And of course Screamer comes up with a better plan than Megsy. Screamer and Megsy's dynamic here reminds me of Harley and Joker a bit, like in Mad Love. When Screamer tries to kill the nemesis he doesn't bother with elaborate plans. He GETS. SHIT. DONE.

Megsy has OP's phone number and just casually calls him up to say "I have your girlfriend" Wow what a way for them to reunite.

They got all separated when the arc crashed poor star-crossed lovers. OP's ships are all tragic and star-crossed.

Screamer is being all sinister and hitting on Elita? So she gets to flirt with Screamer AND bag OP? How lucky can one girlbot get!?

And Elita has to rescue him, because 1) she's too badass to be the damsel and 2) Starscream is an actually efficient villain who doesn't mess around. Megs and OP definitely hooked up with efficient badasses after their breakup.

SHE CAN STOP FUCKING TIME!? HOLY SHIT! I MEAN IT NEARLY KILLS HER BUT OMG. DOES THAT MAKE HER ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL AUTOBOTS!?

It's cool how OP's trailer can serve to transport people in trouble, it's a nice little character detail of his transformation.

And it looks like there are other couples separated for 4 million years. Moonracer/Powerglide, Firestar/Inferno, Ironhide/Chromia. Moonracer's talking like she and Screamer have some past rivalry, that'd be a great prequel plot.

Alpha Trion! He was in Tf;One too, and I guess he also gave OP and Elita their abilities here, or knows how they work?

Great animation in this ep really conveying a lot of OP and Elita's feelings without a ton of dialogue, excellent stuff.

And OP and Elita return. Looks like in G1 she turned into a car instead of a bike. And she immediately shoots Shockwave. That's why she punched him in the eye so much in the film.

OP and Elita part. And I feel like we need an ENTIRE storyline about the GirlSquad holding down the autobot fort on Cybertron for 4 million years.

Y'know, the ep doesn't, technically confirm that OP and Elita are dating. You could've said they were just good friends and nothing would contradict it. I was kind of expecting more overt romance.

Anyway apparently this is her only ep, really, in G1. dunno why they never brought her back? This ep was AMAZING. Definitely well worth the wait.

Watching g1 Transformers "The Gambler"

"We went a whole ep without any of the MCS? And it worked!?"

Oh My god. We pick up where the last episode left off. This....outside of two parters, this has NEVER happened before! Totally unexpected!

The bots are still in the toy rocket heading him from the prior planet and get taken prisoner and enslaved by some random villain. Wow. Plot. Forty something episodes in.

And the title is explained by A gambling bet made with one of the bots. Anyway we're going to Vegas. And the Autobots get turned mini AGAIN. They just wanted to do this plot huh.

Oh crap are none of my faves in this episode? OK new autobot let's see if you can hold my attention long enough not to miss Screamer, Megs, OP & Soundwave.

So I am kind of intrigued by the world building here. We're exploring another new planet, very much "More wretched hive of scum and villainy" vibes.

A wrestling pit! I wonder if this is where they got the idea in other continuities for Megs to be a Gladiator?

We meet a very Jabab the Hutt-esque villain. Guess Smokescreen is kind of the Han Solo of this show?

And damn he basically sold the Bots to the Jabba villain so they could wrestle. TFP Megs you got any tips for OP on how to make it?

Oh hey Decepticons! Astrotrain! None of the mainstays though. Ramjet and Dirge are the names. I'm going to assume every one of them has a million fans who I will soon offend by knowing nothing about them.

OMG world building about Autobots leaving Cybertron? Weird alien customs? A new bot with a history? Ooh color me intrigued.

"Defcon" wow a bounty hunter looking for Cons? Damn it's like the Worldbuilding just got turned up to a thousand. And the Jabba villain works for Megsy? Damn Megs how desperate are you for help?

Anyway so we get a gladiator episode plot. Poor OP and co life just seems to be fucking with them in this ep.

And wow what unique designs everyone has here. And Oh man seeing OP being enslaved is so depressing, I know the cons do that to people a lot but seeing OP that way just feels WRONG.

Thank Primus OP doesn't remember any of this.

Anyway really neat unique episode. But can't pretend I'm not more excited for tomorrow's ep because I've been spoiled: IT'S ELITA ONE TIME!!!!
