Seasons
If I'm being honest, I was so certain that I'd have found love by now. However, as I continue my journey into spirituality, new layers are revealed to me that must have been within me all along. In some instances, I've peeled them back in a haste, rushing to be this evolved version of myself without sitting with her first. I've carelessly discarded chapters of my life as if they weren't a revolutionary part of the current state of existence in which I reside. As the waves of change greet me yet again, I am awakened to the negligence in which I've treated myself with. Every adaptation has brought me one step closer to becoming the woman of my dreams. I deserve to honor each phase of life with graciousness instead of guilt and with love instead of lack. I've come to the realization that this moment in time is for loving all of me, not just current me. There is a season for everything and this one is solely about myself.

Introspection
As I’m about to embark on my next journey I am reflecting on the unexpected twists and turns that my life took over the last year and a half. I always envisioned myself as a world explorer. Making this dream come to fruition has been the most fulfilling thing I have done in my lifetime. Trusting in the universe to lead me down the path that calls out to me has yet to steer me wrong. Since I decided to become a nomad I have evolved so much as a person. I have undergone ego deaths, faced challenges that I never expected to endure, and became even more empathetic and resilient. Life can come crashing down around you in the blink of an eye but the real test is how you react to it, that’s either where magic or destruction happens. Surrendering to Source and being in a flow state will allow you to transition with greater ease. Whenever we are resistant to change that friction will produce difficulties along the way that can result in setbacks and despair. Remaining open to the unknown will land you in some pretty incredible places, just allow it.

Holbox
Upon arriving in Tulum I began meeting many fellow expats who have become my friends and my source of guidance on living in Mexico. I began hearing them speak of Holbox on numerous occasions and my curiosity started to grow. I also had the best adventure partner to explore a new place with who was equally as excited as I was about taking this trip.
In order to get there it’s a two hour drive to Chiquila and then a 20 minute ferry ride into Holbox. The drive itself was a journey. When we passed through Playa del Carmen we got pulled over at the police filtro and luckily they let us continue on our way. As we entered into the jungle away from any of the towns it began pouring rain. I kept my faith that the weather would pass and luckily it did. Driving through the small towns before you arrive into Chiquila was incredibly eye-opening. There were stray dogs standing in the middle of the streets, children playing with whatever they could find, and families doing their best to make the most of the life that they had. It was a reminder to count my blessings and genuinely be so eternally grateful.
Finally, we arrive to the ferry and head to the island. It’s visible in the distance and as we approach it we notice two flamingos in the water, just enjoying their afternoon. Once we got there we took a golf cart to our hotel and started driving through the little town. There was a lot of run down structures and construction at the start of the ride. When we got closer to where all the hotels began there were restaurants, shops, and people riding bikes because there aren’t cars on the island. Many of the buildings we passed were covered in graffiti that portrayed different things seen on the island and around Mexico, from Mayan ruins to whale sharks that are found at this time of year in the ocean surrounding us.
Our hotel was gorgeous and it was towards the end of the strip of hotels along the water which ended up being perfect. We ventured into the ocean and it was the most amazing beach I’ve ever seen. The water is shallow for at least a hundred feet so you’re able to walk out so far and it’s never above your knees. It was so calm and serene that it felt like Heaven. We got on bicycles and rode up the beach to this gorgeous resort that we came across on the way in. The entrance had this beautiful wooden aqua door and opened up to a vast outdoor area with a restaurant and bar. We had timed the trip perfectly to make it by sunset, so we had a meal, some drinks and the shrooms we took before headed out on our adventure had just started to kick in.

Tulum
My top 3 most magical places that I’ve visited in all of my travels are Bali, Tulum, and Kyoto. I love to explore the world and I find something I love about each trip that I have taken, but there was a celestial ambiance that enveloped these destinations.
Six years ago I journeyed to the other side of the world and was pleasantly surprised by the culture and the spirituality of Bali. This trip opened my heart to the beauty of religions foreign to my own. This trip changed my life. Over the course of time my curiosity peaked. I loved to research these concepts, beliefs and ways of life in depth. Once I would arrive I would submerse myself into these cultures and religious beliefs that were new to me.
Mexico is somewhere that I found myself returning to time and time again. Each trip I would experience a new city. It began with Mexico City and has now led me back for my fourth adventure to Tulum. Two hours outside of Cancun along the Yucatan Peninsula is where you’ll find this gem I now call home.
The moment I step out of the taxi and breathe in the humid air I feel like I’m right where I’m meant to be. There is an energy about Tulum that penetrates through your body directly into your soul. Each visit I have made here has brought light into situations and feelings I was previously unsure of. Everyone comes with their own idea of what their life might be but leaves a changed person. The growth that I have achieved in these times has been life-altering.
Now, I have returned with a purpose. It is my duty to fulfill a prophecy of my own. I want to become a healer. My calling in life is to utilize my pain, experiences, and my knowledge for a greater good. I set out to be a light to those who can’t find their way out of darkness. I want to return the kindness that was bestowed upon me.
This is my journey.
Meg
