Echoes of Dissent (Ending Spoilers)

Wow. 10/10, like, best story so far. It’s not a perfect ending, it’s not an immediate fix. In fact, it’s the start of picking up the ruins of a religion that ruled, everyone swept when the rug was pulled and the wool removed.

And Dura above, this reminded me so much of Fire Emblem Three Houses and how much authority the church had, the zealousness of Velara who acts so much like Saint Serios, truly. So devoted to the cause. And the fact that the dragon, this Primordial Dragon (Progenitor, one could say), worked together with Dwarves who used them and made weapons and armor out of Azkarion’Sol’s kin reminded me of the Relic Weapons.

And the Queen’s descent to madness, how a thirst for power started from good intentions, mutated her and led this reign of suffering between nobles and Commoners.

I am saddened that the dwarves kinda got kicked aside, like I get why as we stopped them but… I kinda wanted to see them get some sort of punishment for oh I dunno, killing like, eight people? Or aiding in killing eight people?

The fact that the general guy just left? Wack.

Also Indris, my heart is eternally charmed, but the golden outfit is… meh.

Nevertheless! Gotta be my favorite story so far, as always, Wilders are the best and no one can change my mind!

In other news, I really like indris so far and this plot. It’s by far the darkest and most intriguing so far

Lady? She reminds me of Lady Rhea or Serios from Fire Emblem. Praising the Goddess, cruel to those who rebel or act out of turn. Her devotion to this Queen whose gatekeep, gaslight, girlboss-ing her kingdom and its citizens.

As Divine Dew is from Dragon Eggs, I wonder (As at the time of writing this, May 30th), if the problem of running out of Dragon Eggs will ever show. The eggs must have lasted centuries, but do they simply take that long to hatch? Or is the mother in the Essail’s clutches, forced to relinquish her eggs? Does she simply not care?

Also, I honestly didn’t expect them to kill off Feli, I really didn’t. Also blood?? They showed blood? I was surprised by that too.

I like Indris so far as he isn’t under full control of the faith, as his background as a Commoner himself he shows mercy and understanding, turning his back to find truth even if it brands him a traitor.

(Also I now really like Valen, Cyran, Eironn and him so… Magister is running out of hands. If I gotta S-Rank one it’s gonna be a hard pick.)

SPOILERS FOR CHAINS OF ETERNITY

I must admit, This may be my favorite season yet. The writing, the environment, the storylines and Characters…. I loved it. Sure, by the end I was really disappointed to not see Lorsan and Faramor but that’s my biggest grievances. It sort of felt like Faramor was pushed away from the plot, and he’s a new character. Lorsan was understandable, we’ve seen him before. I just feel like they did Temu-Brand Blaidd the Half-Wolf dirty.

Smaller nitpicks

That Valka is an A-Rank Character. She’s a Hero of Legend in the town, I felt like she should’ve been S-Rank instead but that’s from me really not wanting to grind 20+ Soul Sigils

That characters (not your own, but other people’s), are in cutscenes. I had this happen with the Yolena cutscene I believe unless that’s deliberate but I really don’t think so.

The cutscene crashes! Didn’t happen as often but it still occurred for the entry into the town cutscene.

Cryonaia, the revealed Hypogean who’s meant to be a play of the Ice Queen, specifically her design. I understand Fan Service but Bonnie was just released. Looking like that, I don’t see terrifying or God, I see someone who needs to put on some damned clothes. Would’ve been better to see her in armor that’s still feminine.

Cyran (The dark and brooding guy), kinda just… appears and vanishes, which is consistency but I don’t know his fate or the reaction of his actions by the people. We don’t get to see the death of the King, the sudden disappearance of the ‘Princess’ and the Church. Who’s in charge now??

Important Pros

The music in this chapter was spectacular, like, really good. Especially in the fields of flowers.

The environment’s are pulled off well. Broken noble homes, the swamp being dreary as a blood soaked battlefield, especially Valka’s commentary in it. The fields of flowers are pretty too.

The introduction to new Magister Lore like, we aren’t the only Merlin? There’s another in the past who was chill with the God of Death? What does that mean for us?

The added activities like Ice Skating and Snow Ball fights are fun! I really like doing them actually, more than I expected.

Showing the diversity of Graveborn was nice, seeing their more tragic sides through Valka and the nobles forgotten, Ludovic refusing to turn Princess Yolena into one for her own good and Carolina’s brother a machine. How they are villainized when all of them in Cedartown were once heroes.

Either way, I really liked it. I got more screenshots to post separately.

I was recommended a Wordgirl video basically explaining why she’s the most powerful being in existence and that tickled something I guess so I drew this.

I designed solely off imagination, no thought. Didn’t even flip it to check if the pose was correct but here’s to the Wordgirl fans! It was a good show.

Day ?? - Elden Ring

I don’t know how many times I’ve died. I got hyper fixated on other games and got a job, went back to Elden Ring and got bodied by the two Gargoyles with weapons who have poison.

My last update was of Margitt, the Fell Omen. Well good god, my 27 deaths have probably turned to eighty if we’re being generous.

First off, found Patches, discovered Invasions existed and no longer needed internet to happen which I love soooo much thank you Fromsoft, truly, I love to walk about and suddenly unable to enter caves or ride Torrent.

Found a portal that took me to a high up place clear off the map section (Elevator I believe) and after nine tries I gave up trying to kill the giant there (Got it to one-fourth health though). Teamed up with Ranni the Witch and made a friend in Blaidd which Igi has warned will not last long.

Gave up fighting a multi armed spinning beast near the Storm Keep entrance where you meet Melina after being the losing beyblade and getting butchered.

Gave up fighting a Crucible Knight if I remember right. Man grew wings and I suck at dealing with him so I am avoiding the Evergoai’s all together.

Killed a General in Scarlot Rot lands after dying a few times, Killed a Black Horse Rider after we both fell off the ground which was great since I still got the echoes. Killed a Bell Guy for a Bell Bearing.

After a dozen tries or more, finished Radahn and will admit I mostly let the others do the work though I think my blood build did some work (For Bloodborne sake. I wanted to do Parry but I suck at it)

I am aware there is a DLC. I am also aware that my sanity has suffered enough playing this and I am not even done yet. I’m probably not even 20 percent done. I beat the Old Hunter’s DLC, I say I can skip out on this one unless I suddenly get good. At this point, I might have to break my blind playthrough rule.

Yes, I am using a Twinblade with Bleed trait as well as a Katana blade I cannot remember how to spell but I got it in some ruins. I do not know what I am doing and unlike in Bloodborne, I cannot seem to work with that anymore.

I just beat Hogwarts Legacy and my god, I never wanted to kill Professor Black more. (Spoilers for Hogwarts Legacy)

I suppose the game isn’t fully over, OWLs and all that. But I wasn’t expecting to lose anyone until Fig told me I was stronger than I knew.

The fight was a bit of a mess with the dragon. Not exactly difficult combat wise but the mechanic of finding the spheres of magic, unleashing the right type spell while not trying to get hit was more of an annoyance. Music was good though.

It was also amazing to see all the professors come and fight, assembling like the Avengers. I do wish our friends (people we’ve helped with relationship quests) came as well but it’s a very low wish.

And of course the speech of Professor Fig. I knew Avada Kedavra and I wanted to use it on Black for his blatant disrespect towards Fig and Miram. At least Crucio.

I was sort of hoping Fig and I would just relax after the battle, admit what we knew together to the other Professors. I don’t know if Wizards believe in Heaven but I hope he and Miriam are together again.

I should say, I’ve never read, played and barely watched the first movie and watched none the others but I really liked the game actually. My first big open world I actually enjoyed. The combat is simple but still fun, the challenges, the side quests, the professors are a highlight. I heard of a second one coming out and I do hope to buy it, if it’s anything like the first, I think I’ll enjoy it. It’s a full game of optional DLC items and feels complete. No paid storyline needed.

Secretly, I think it would’ve been cool to take the power after defeating Ranrok, giving you the ability to turn into a Dragon if you wanted to in the Open World, or keep the power and get a boost. Doubt the Keepers would be happy about that.

I think the only critique would be a little more immersion, more classes, more times with companions, a hint of a curfew like Hogsmeade residents wondering why a Student is out past night. Being able to talk more with the professors and fill them in on what’s been going on in your life. I feel like being able to connect more would lead to a more painful ending for Fig. It’d hurt more if he left a note behind, like a final letter to us wishing the best….

All in all, 8/10. Can’t wait to play the next one.

(Edit: I just realized all we got was a stone necklace. Like, not even special stone. Just a stone necklace. It would be so cool if he got Fig’s scarf, the Keeper’s clothing, a special wand handle, but no. We got a necklace. We saved Hogwarts - the school of wizardry and magic - and got a necklace. Not even money.)

Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen Spoilers (Vague-ish?)

I had always thought at the end, when the Pawn takes form of the Arisen, specifically this shot when they nod, that they were actually looking to the sea as Pawns often say,

“Man says the sea is mother to all life. This pawn only sees water.”

Yet “A body washes ashore on a deserted beach. Nameless, this soul awakens, eyes gleaming with the will to live, and for all things worth living for.”

Upon the ending of Dragon’s Dogma I always viewed it as Pawn, now Man, now sees the sea as the mother of life as it probably holds the body of the Arisen who bestowed their loyal Pawn a life.

But looking back it now just looks like they’re nodding at the camera. Which is less cool but I’m going to chose the more poetic one.

Obligatory “Screw you Aelinore” as I really wanted Julien but oh well. Next run.

I chose Dark Forest here, I’m shocked only 24 percent of people chose seeing the Wilder Crew. Most are probably Ryeham though, but at the end of the day I like Lorsan, Bryon and Eironn while Ryeham would probably just have Mirael and Valen. Theee outweighs two, I have little regrets.
