hi!! thank u for taking ur time to translate the new text/ringtones. as far as im aware of, there are three different sets of ringtones labelled "another story I/II/III" but i think u have to finish NE and GE of V route to unlock it. could u pls translate them as well? ovo

Hey there! Seol here, again. So, I totally forgot about those notification sounds that you get after you get normal and happy end!

Good news is, I got both normal and good end already!

Bad news, my normal end ringtones ARE NOT PLAYING? I see the options and I push them, and for some reason, I’m not getting anything. Maybe I’m having issues with the app, but I’m really upset because I didn’t even get a chance to hear those…

Anyway, I’m hoping Heather doesn’t have this problem and that she’s able to help me out in that aspect!

BUT, for now, I’ll go ahead and put up translations for the GOOD ending sounds~^^

Hi there, Seol here! Since I'm an idiot, I accidentally deleted the anon request that was sent literally a couple minutes ago. My finger be slippin' y'all...sorry to the anon you send the original question, but I am going to answer that said question now so no worries!

Anywho, I am half dead right now but I am somehow not tired? It is an absurd combination, but I am ready to answer this question for all that are curious about what the notification sounds mean! To my knowledge there isn't any mail sounds? So I will just translate to the best of my abilities what the notification sounds mean ^^

hi! i'm wondering if you could please translate the lyric previews of the songs from v's route in cheritz's new video?

Hiya!! It’s Heather here! Sorry for the suuuper late reply! I’ve been busy new semester started T-T

I’m pretty sure Cheritz put their own lyrics translations on the video, but I wanted to have a more literal translation + elaboration on some of them. 

The Korean lyrics:

V: 태양 아래 수선화 하얀 빛을 찾아서

Rika: 꽃을 피워 보려고 모든 힘을 다하죠

V: 꽃에게 부를 달콤한 이상의 노래

Rika: 간절히 부를 외로운 기억의 노래

V: 빛으로 가면 그 꽃을 피울 수 있죠

Rika: 밀지말아요 이 세상이 날 꺾을 거예요

빛이 있다면 내 존재 모두 용서하시길

나를 지키려 시작한 연극도 부디

V: 빛이 있다면 이 꽃을 피워주시길

나의 모든 것을 가져가셔도 되니

노란 수선화 사랑을 주시길

How Cheritz translated:

V: In search of shining ray, daffodil swaing beneath the blaze

Rika: Trying to bloom with all its might, it puts in all its heart

V: This, a song of dreams sweetly sung

Rika: This, a song of memory lonely sought

V: Into the light the flower may flourish

Rika: It takes a push to make me perish

Shall there be light, do forgive me

Personally, I think Cheritz was trying to make the song’s lyrics poetic. I guess it was able to express the lyrics in a concise way. But in my opinion, some of the wordings looked a bit awkward. I’ll try to translate in a literal & colloquial.

Heather’s translation:

V: A daffodil under the sun, trying to search for the white light

Rika: It’s putting all its effort to bloom into a flower

V: A sweet, ideal song to be sung to the flower

Rika: A lonely song of memory to be sung desperately 

V: We will be able to blossom the flower if we go to the light

Rika: But do not push me, the world will hurt me

If there is light, please forgive all my existence

Even the act I’ve started to protect myself

V: If there is light, please blossom this flower

Even if it were to take everything away from me

Please, give love to this daffodil 

Overall, we can see that daffodil symbolizes Rika, and V is dedicated to help her, as always. ;~; The song is really beautiful ahhhhh can’t wait for V’s route to come out this month!

Mystic Messenger Request: 707′s Route Day 8 Chatroom Translation: Puns

Hello anon!

To answer your question directly, there was some puns going on, even more than the English version! For those of you who don’t remember the English version, it goes like,

It just looks like a normal conversation where Zen just says a rhyming cliche to cheer Yoosung up. However, on the 8th day of 707′s route in the 8:00 chatroom part, the Korean version goes like this.

Korean version:

MC: 저 한 포기 예약^^

유성: 저는 김장 ‘포기’ 예약을 하고 싶네요…

ZEN: 연어유희ㅋ

유성: 언어유희겠죠. 연어 먹고 싶네요.

ZEN: 헐.

My translation:

MC: I’ll reserve one batch of kimchi^^

Yoosung: I want to reserve for  ‘give up on making kimchi’

ZEN: (what he meant to say) lol puns

        (what he actually said) lol salmon joke (literally!!!)

Yoosung: You mean “puns.” Now I want to eat salmon.

ZEN: omg.

SOOO, here comes the explanation. The Korean word 포기 has two meanings. The word that MC used is a measuring unit to count kimchi cabbages. The word that Yoosung used means “to give up.” He just used the same word for a different meaning, so he pretty much used a pun.

Now, what Zen said would be really confusing for non-Koreans. The word 언어유희’s literal meaning is “trying to make a joke out of words,” but he made a typo. (연어유희) 연어 means salmon in Korean, so that made a completely different meaning to the typo. Yoosung pretty much makes fun of Zen for making the typo by saying he wants to eat salmon.

To answer your question first, yes, you are right! Korean version Jumin: 정원을 사두면 뭐하나? 산책하는 빈도가 이리도 낮을걸. Zen: 저 재수없는 놈. 내게 정원이 있었다면 우울한 날에 소주 마시러나 갔겠지.

My translation Jumin: What’s the point of having a garden? I don’t go on a walk in there that often. Zen: Wow, what a jerk. If I were to have a garden, I would’ve drank soju in there whenever I had bad days.

To people who aren’t familar with soju, it is one of the Korea’s traditional alcohols! Few reasons why it was replaced by soju (my personal opinions!) would be

1. Soju is a strange word for non-Korean users, so they probably replaced it with a drink that is familar with the Westerners (like what the anon said!)

2. Soju has some similarities with vodka in that they appear the same! They both are transparent & look like water. Personally, I never had vodka(too strong for me, yikes!) but I did drink soju! While vodka contains 40 degrees of alcohol, most soju contains 16~17 degrees of it!

Yes, @those-starlights and @mysmess-seol have joined together to answer all questions in regards to Mystic Messenger ^^

With the new update being hot news, there were many requests to translate the April Fools SFX and that is what we came to do!

Note, maybe it is Cheritz’s way of playing us for April Fools, but no matter how many times we listen, Jumin’s last one is non-existent. We will keep listening, but for now, Jumin only has two ㅠㅠ

Before we get to the translations, Happy Early April Fools/만우절~!

젠(ZEN) 1. 내 머리 사람들에게 원래 이런 거라고 말하고 다녔지만 사실은 이거 다~아 새치다.

I tell people that my hair is naturally white, but they are actually all white hair from growing old!

2. 거짓말하는 네 모습이 너무 귀여워서 모른 척 하려고 해도, 와아 그 잠깐만, (하하) 웃음이 나와.

(In the game, Cheritz translated it as Ph. D Pepper. In Korean, it’s written as 닭털페퍼, and its literal meaning is chicken-feather pepper, LOL. So 707 just tricked you by saying its original name was 오리털페퍼, which means duck-feather pepper. I just wrote out the pronunciation of it, so I hope this explanation helped with understanding this sentence!)

3. 거짓말하면 코 길어진다던데, 님 코는 몇 센치인지 한 번 재봐도 돼요?

They say that when you lie, your nose gets longer. Can I measure how long your nose is, MC?
