Hello STY fans!

Like me, I’m sure you’ve been anticipating reading volume 10, the final novel in the Yakumo series. If so, you’ve likely spotted the obstacle in our path: Translation.

Some of us have been talking intermittently about taking on the mantle, but unfortunately none of us is fluent in Japanese.

Anybody willing to help with translations?

Since there is no news on yakumo light novel translations v.10 , I was hoping if anyone is willing to help. We need as many volunteers as possible be it editors, translators etc. If anyone is willing to help take the project forward plz do respond T_T

Volume 10 Chapter 1 pt.1

“Hey, you. Wake Up!” There was someone’s voice in the room. When Setsuko opened her eyes, orange light was pouring in from the window facing the veranda, illuminating the vacuum cleaner that had been left in the living room. She had intended to take a break for a while and layed down on the sofa, but fell asleep. Setsuko raised her body while rubbing her eyes and sat up on the sofa again. Entering nine months of pregnancy, her stomach was quite large. It’s a pain to change positions like this. More than anything, she got tired easily. Before she became pregnant, she used to be able to vacuum without the need to take a break. Although she was puzzled about the change that is occurring in her body, she knew that a new life will be the result. ”We’ll be able to meet soon”, Setsuko said to the child growing within while rubbing her belly. As if responding, the child kicked her belly. Even with the feeling of bliss that filled Setsuko, she had to finish cleaning up or  her husband Masuhide would nag. In contrast to his big body, Masahide was quite finicky about cleanliness.  Their apartment was recently constructed, it was 85 square meters of 3 LDK in size and located near the station. The room within the apartment was facing the sun and as it was late Autumn, the sun was rather strong. Prior to purchasing, Setsuko expressed her dissatisfaction with that many times, but Yasuhide did not listen. He reasoned that he wouldn’t mind seeing as he was not home during the day. Well no use complaining about it now, this was their home. The moment Setsuko put her hands on the sofa’s armrest the sideboard began shaking. The photo stand and the vase which were placed on the side board rattled. “Earthquake?” Setsuko looked around while speaking out. It was strange.  The only thing that was shifting is curtains, which are only on the sideboard, the electric wires that can be seen beyond the window, and street trees were not making tremor. While pondering this, she took out her smartphone and immediately checked if any news bulletins about the earthquake were posted on the Internet, but was unable to find anything. “I wonder if they haven’t posted anything yet?” Suddenly, scratching sounds could be heard. Setsuko shook her head and looked around the room. Scratch! There was a sound again. It seemed to have come from above. Did an electric fuse blow too? She focused her line of sight upwards and heard a clicking sound. She turned around, there were only white walls. Scratch! Next time, the sound came from the kitchen. Setsuko supported the armrest of the sofa, somehow got up and walked to the kitchen with a heavy foot. I tried hard to run my eyes, but I did not know the source of the sound. What on earth is that? That sound was not something she was making up. The changing locations of the sound was absurd to Setsuko. *Rapping sound.* A  memory came to her mind from her college days. Back when she would tell ghost stories with her friends the rapping sound was a common theme. That sound was said to be a type of psychic phenomenon, and ghosts used the sound to make their presence known. Setsuko came to a disturbing conclusion, if that was a rapping sound, it means that there is a ghost inside this room. That’s not possible! Setsuko strongly denied it .When she was a child, she had believed in the existence of  God. However, as she grew older, she realized that such a thing was just a false sense. Even though she heard that spiritual phenomena seemed to be scientifically unravelable,her fingertips trembled and her forehead beaded with sweat. It was in that moment after she had calmed down by taking deep breaths that the voice of a man was right at her earns. Startled, she turned to the living room . “In breaking news….” Her beating heart calmed at the realization that the voice had come from the TV, but she wondered why that was. It was 09:46 AM,and the TV was not on, so why?The overwhelming panic set in,causing her to hyperventilate. Putting her hand to her chest she felt something hit her back. She was alone in the apartment, so what or who had hit her? Don’t look. She had a gut feeling. That was probably her instinct telling her this. Against her will, she turned her head and looked back. There, a boy was standing. A boy, who has a pale skin as if he had no blood, pointed slowly towards Setsuko’s belly with an eerie smile. “Hey, can I play with that girl?” Setsuko’s scream drowned out the boy’s words.
