Wes Janson is something else. In the x-wing series, his personality is fleshed out and we get all these little jokes (a ewok pilot, yub yub Commander, and so many more. I'm reading through The Empire Strikes Back: From a Certain Point of View and there are some amazing interactions!
Janson: ... Ix Ixstra.
Antilles: She spent two weeks at Echo Base in the brig for fighting.
Janson: Admirable combat spirit.
Antilles: she hit a Pathfinder over the head with a meal tray.
Janson: experienced at ambush tactics.
Antilles: a Pathfinder twice her size
Janson: so her threat recognition needs some work.
Janson: Another hothead. Still, he never brained a fellow rebel with a tray. And with that ringing endorsement, he's part of the squadron.

I feel called out. Fire is fun ... In moderation ... And if you're careful.

Doing art with fire is not the best idea if you are in the house. But it does turn out pretty!

"This is the Ministry of Planning and Zoning. Construction Droid Foursixnine, do you have a problem? We are showing a deviation of your course. "
Wedge hit the reply button. " No problem here, we just have new plans. With Coruscant being under new management, we wanted to get things started early to ease the transition."
"What are you talking about? Who is this? "
"Rogue Squadron Contracting. X-wings far faster, but they don't build things as nicely as this does. Antilles out."

Just rewatched A New Hope and I have to say the energy between the main trio is absolutely bonkers; like they switch between "you are the most annoying person I know" to "omg bestie hugs!" at the drop of a hat.
- Han and Luke are arguing the whole way from the cantina to the detention center.
- Then Leia comes in and she's yelling at both of them.
- Then they get stuck in the trash compactor and Han desperately tries to save Luke from the tentacles, and then when the compactor goes on and they're all panicking he's trying to help Leia get to higher ground.
- Trash compactor goes off, they all celebrate, Han and Leia freaking HUG...and next scene we're right back to the Sass.
- Leia kisses Luke on the cheek for luck right before they swing across a gap.
- Han and Luke bond over shooting tie fighters away.
- Han admits he kinda likes Leia even though they've basically done nothing but bicker (when not in immediate danger).
- Luke gets upset when Han wants to take his money and leave even though he's know him for like a day. Han pretends he doesn't care but then leaves Luke with a completely sincere "May the force be with you." Despite thr fact that he doesn't believe in that stuff.
- Luke continues to be upset so much that he complains to Leia about Han leaving and she kisses him on the cheek AGAIN as comfort.
- Han comes back and must have been tapping into the comms the whole time because he swoops in specifically to save Luke.
- When they return to the base Leia runs to hug Luke, and then Luke runs to hug Han, and then they all just end up in an excited group hug.
And maybe it's because Leia just lost her planet and Luke just lost all his parental figures and Han is just lost but they absolutely speedrun found family in a way that critics nowadays would find completely unrealistic, and yet the energy between them is something neither the prequels or the sequels were able to match. Just "nope, these idiots are mine now".
Anyway the point is Star Wars is good when it's good.
(Luke doesn't get a braincell until RotJ, Han has no braincells but is very good at making it seem like he does, Leia has braincells but they are angry.)

No problem! I'm glad to help. He is one of my favorites to read about!
Boba Fett!
Now that I’ve gotten your attention, does anyone have a good Legends reading list for learning about his character and his journey?
I’ve read several people here pissed about how Disney has done him dirty in the BoBF show. Boba was never a character I was interested in back in the 90s/early oughts when I was reading legends books so I never really encountered him. That interest is changing, now, with my growing love for Mandalorians and the build up of their culture. I want to learn more about the first trilogy’s OG bounty hunter.
Wouldn’t mind learning more about Jango as well. So recommendations there are welcome as well.
Just going by the movies, Jango comes off as a total dumbass so I was never interested. Similar to why I never got interested in Boba. However, I’m told that there’s more going on with them that wasn’t explained in the movies (Which, fair. They were tertiary characters at best).
I’m enjoying the hell out of what I’m encountering in fanfic but the characterization is all over the place so I don’t actually know what they were like in the official books. Something about Boba being Catholic?
I’m hoping to be able to find/order older Star Wars books from my library so I don’t have to shell out for coveted copies that are no longer being produced. Any recommendations, reading lists, and the order you recommend would be much appreciated.

Granted, I've not read all of the books Boba Fett is in, but here are some of my favorites. And hopefully, I didn't give you too many spoilers.
Boba Fett series by Terry Bisson and Elizabeth Hand. This basically spans the events of the clone wars. It starts right after the events on geonosis and goes all the way to some point I'm guessing in the third year of the war. Not 100% sure about that part. 6 books
The bounty hunter wars by K.W. Jeter. It's a trilogy of books that span a time period just after the events of A New Hope and during the events of The return of the Jedi. They go over the events the part about the destruction of the bounty Hunter guild and the events after Boba Fett falls into the Sarlacc. For me, this series really demonstrated just how tough Boba Fett is supposed to be.
Legacy of the Force series by Karen Travis, Troy Denning, and Aaron Alston. ( Granted, there may be more authors I might not remember) the series heavily focuses on the Skywalker/Solo families and a fall to the dark side. But it also talks of Boba Fett and his family as well as him stepping up as Mand'alor. He isn't in all of the books, but he plays a fairly big role in the plot. 9 books
Tales of the bounty hunters edited by Kevin J. Anderson. This book has a lot of short stories in it, but the one about Boba Fett dives into his backstory a little more. It spans from when he is late teens/early twenties to in his prime/or just beyond.
There is another series he might be mentioned in. I never really read it, but the New Jedi Order series may have mentions of him. 20 some books
You may be able to find these on Google play books if you aren't able to find them at the library. I hope this helps! Enjoy!

The Executor
Here's just a small little drabble about the SSD Executor that popped into my head on the way to work the other day and wouldn't leave me alone.
It's vaguely based off of @musewrangler's Star Wars Empire Reimagined AU and their portrayal of both the Executor (excuse me, the Lady) and her Admiral. I had been thinking about how the Executor is portrayed in that series ( If you haven't read it, you are missing out!) while listening to the Song "Valhalla Calling" by Miracle of Sound and this idea wouldn't leave me alone.
Enjoy!

A fleet of star destroyers under the command of an admiral of the Imperial Remnant hammered on the alliance fleet. Just outside the gravity well of Arkanis, the Imperial remnant had the upper hand as their crews and fighter squadrons continued to plague their foes. One Captain Brenger of the Destroyer ‘Plunderer’, stood with his hands behind his back and surveyed the battle with an ease born of the confidence of victory.
Worries of the Alliance did not plague him as he watched the Plunderer’s turbo laser battery bombard a nearby Mon Calamari Frigate. He glanced across the battlefield again, like a king surveying his kingdom and it was only the minute twitch of his lips that indicated there was anything amiss. Sparing a second deeper glance to a sector of space cast in the shadow of Arkanis’ moon, he had thought he had seen something. Just as he was about to turn away and resume his confident surveying of the battlefield, a sense of being hunted wrapped itself around him and began to tickle his thoughts.
Slowly from behind the moon, a sliver of white-gray began to wax larger. The firefight between the Imperials and the Alliance began to slow before ceasing as every eye was drawn to the behemoth that had been hiding in the dark of the moon. A pointed bow began to make its appearance as one … four … six kilometers of the hidden menace slid from the shadows. Its bays were dark and menacing as not a single running light was lit.
Captain Brenger’s hands fell to his side and he swallowed back a sense of terror. As the captain of the flagship, he had been in charge of the fleet, but now he felt like a tooka being stalked by a much larger predator. Seven … ten … Twelve more kilometers slid form the shadows as the battle ship … no, that was no battle ship. It was a dreadnought. He hardly dared to breath as the iconic lines of the massive 19 kilometer dreadnought slipped from the shadows. This was the Executor and he had an uncomfortable suspicion that he had flown right into a trap. Right at that moment there was a wave of light that washed over the massive Super star destroyer as its running lights lit one by one from bow to stern, illuminating the ship in a blood red glow.
“Captain, We are being hailed.”
Swallowing back his dismay and reaching for his blandest voice, he nodded to the communications specialist. “Put it through.”
“This is Fleet admiral Firmus Piett of the Alliance. Imperial Destroyers, stand down and power down your batteries immediately. You are surrounded and the only chance of escape with your lives is if you surrender. Be advised that if you refuse to stand down, Be advised that we will pursue with deadly force.”
Brenger had started when he heard that they were surrounded. Glancing around confirmed that as he notices that other destroyers that made of the admiral’s fleet. Like the Admiral had said, they were surrounded, the others having crept up on them unnoticed as the Executor had effortlessly caught their attention and held it. The act of menacingly revealing themselves and slipping from the shadows had been a ruse to distract them and it had worked wonderfully.
