umbra is apart of ancient scrolls/mythostale! this is his redesign bc i frankly was unhappy with his old design... XP aanyway he is a monstah !! he's considered "feral" by humans bc he has determination and is essentially a "necromanced" monster.. (hence the fact he is a skelegoat!!)

he also has justice, although that doesn't mean he's not patient nor kind!! :] he is very silly !! and doomed by the narrative.

by the time mythostale is happening, he's.. um. dead. :[ as ancient scrolls takes place years in the past!!

you can also consider him a utdr oc rather than utmv, as the mythostale part can theoretically be ignored if you ignore cameos of mythostale characters in ancient scrolls!! :3

Chara lore Chara lore please

Chara lived in an elven village on the surface, until it was burned down by The Wizard of Determination. In that moment, his HATRED got into their body and SOUL, turning them into a demigod, as well as the Entropy of Chaos.

They were taken in by Toriel, Asgore, and Asriel. However, it wouldn't last for long.

Undyne did not trust Chara since they showed up, and upon noticing Sans' scythe was missing one day, immediately ran to tell the Queen and King.

Undyne and the Royal Family got in a major argument, resulting in the Human-Monster War in the mortal realm. Chara's existence also added to the horrible calamity.

Chara had attempted to kill Toriel, failing. Upon them realizing what they had tried to do, they wanted to better themselves. By this point, the war was over, and all of the mortal Monsters were banished in Mt. Ebott.

Days later, Chara and Asriel were at the patch of golden flowers, Chara wanted to rid themselves of their HATRED, as well as free the Monsters by having Asriel absorb their SOUL and break the barrier.

However... the Humans greatly overpowered the fused being, and using the scythe Chara had stolen, killed the Gods.

Toriel and Asgore split apart after disagreements for months on end, needing space and needing to grieve.

However, Chara comes back to life, and Asriel does not.* Without their HATRED, they still retain their role as Chaos, although now they do more harmless pranks than anything. They are not a force of evil, although they may manipulate and mess with mortals for the fun of it.

*He revives as Flowey, with his memories!

it's literally just reapertale except chara isn't evil--they do TRY to kill toriel but they fail, and realize, "oh that was Bad. I should Not do that"

Some of them have custom gender/pronouns :3

In the "Pacifist" run, you focus more on the Dreemurrs!! Chara gets to see Asriel again, and this is where there's two Pacifist endings: Freedom and Closure

Closure is True Pacifist :] Also Alphyne happens here too!! + True Lab equivalent (still haven't figured this one out, maybe Ancient Scrolls related)

Freedom is if you don't go all the way back to see Asriel btw

then the geno run, aka Godslayer Route. This focuses more on Sans and... well.

Ancient Scrolls. A side-story that I imagine would be told through the runes on the walls and in books of the Librarby.

Basically, Human/Monster war. Herman Espoir was a human that fought for Monsters. Then, there was a "Monster" (actually a True Fresh equivalent but shhhh!!) named Umbra! They were.."very close friends"....

Sans knew them, as he is Death and lived a long long time!

But uh

Sans got attached to them and misses them greatly!!!! :-(

maybe in a post-pacifist, you can give her some closure

but in Godslayer, Sans is NOT messing around. Star's attacks can occasionally flash dark blue, and if these attacks hit you? It'd be theoretically insta-kill.

In the end, he still falls, though.

Instead of Chara appearing, a reincarnated Herman appears, now devoid of HOPE and emotion because Wow! You just killed Every God ! And The Aether was destroyed ! Wow !!! Heaven is GONE !! anyway he kills you :-)

For context, Herman is not evil.

Mythostale (reapertale retake! nothing against reg reapertale but i wanted to make my own version!) GODSLAYER route.

Herman Espoir, an original character of mine, is reawakened instead of Chara at the end of the genocide/godslayer route, as in Mythostale, Chara is the Envoy of Chaos and is already revived. (They're not evil in this AU, by the way. Life is not killed by them!)

Herman was a Human who fought in the Human-Monster war, on the side of the Monsters. He is hurriedly brought back to life out of The Aether (aka heaven equivalent) by The Titans (higher-ups to the Gods) and thus looks... uh. Like this!

Originally having DETERMINATION and HOPE, he is now hopeless, having lost everything for a second time. He is not letting you leave here alive.
