Psyche did not think the feeling running through her could exist, it was too powerful, too profound and pierced her soul in a way that was a beautiful agony.

Japanese Mythology: Amaterasu
Solar goddess of the sun and the universe. She is the daughter Izanagi and sister of Tsukuyomi, and Susanoo, together they painted the landscape while she created ancient Japan. She was born when Izanagi was purifying himself upon entering Yomi(the underworld), when he washed out his left eye. He then placed Amaterasu as the ruler of the High Plains of Heaven. The Emperors of Japan are believed to be direct descendants of Amaterasu.

She is mostly associated with mazes and labyrinths because of her involvement in the myths of the Minotaur and Theseus.

SUMMER MYTH EVENT 4/7 → Western or Southern European Deity: Amphitrite
Amphitrite was the goddess-queen of the sea, wife of Poseidon, and eldest of the fifty Nereides. She was the female personification of the sea--the loud-moaning mother of fish, seals and dolphins. Amphitrite was depicted in Greek vase painting as a young woman, often raising her hand in a pinching gesture. Sometimes she was shown holding a fish. In mosaic art the goddess usually rides beside her husband in a chariot drawn by fish-tailed horses or hippokampoi. Sometimes her hair is enclosed with a net and her brow adorned with a pair of crab-claw "horns". (x)
