Lucy baking a spring time focaccia because it’s been a tradition she had with her mom that all the chefs kept up. It’s something slow and takes time but always means a lot to her. The first nice day where the sun shines just right she busts out her bread pan and makes it.

The first year natsu see this he doesn’t get it because food should be fast and easy to make and ready to eat! What do you mean he has to wait a whole day?!? Lucy that’s too long. Sorry I can just hear him and happy lol.

Lucy gets frustrated but once she bakes the bread Natsu gets it. The time and patience made something no restaurant has recreated for him. Plus it helps that Lucy uses all the local spring time herbs and produce. The wild garlic and onions make for something even more amazing.

The next year natsu helps her by kneeding the dough. His warm hands help activate the yeast so the loaf rises faster! A win for him in his book.

The following year him and happy go out and look for herbs for Lucy. Going as far as to take a job outside the city just to try a new herb that only grows there.

The tradition has now evolved but into a pleasant new one. One that has now become a once a month bread (because the boys keep bringing new things to put on the focaccia).

Means everything to Lucy to share this with them and quite literally break bread with them.

Mira makes her teach her and Lisanna how to make it. Juvia finds out and so does levy and all of a sudden Lucy is in the guild kitchen with everyone showing them how to fold and kneed bread all because happy let it slip that Lucy makes the best focaccia (he said it like fur-couch-yeah).

If you see her crying no one would say a word or Natsu would growl.

New HC dropping for yall:

Lucy and Juvia both grew up wealthy. Aka they went through the studies of ladies. This means both of them speak fluent noble lady language (back in the day it was French or Latin or literally whatever language this is fantasy pick your fav!). Levy has been reading books and learning languages through that. A lot of literature was written in this noble lady language for their studies so she learned the language too.

They have a shit talking club where they can freely complain about their men all they want in this “secret” language. The whole guild is under the impression that they made this language up and have formed a secret club.

It pisses off Natsu, Gray, and Gajeel so much and they complain to Mira who just giggles (they’ve been teaching Mira of course some of the basics so she can gossip with them). Natsu of course wants in on the secret club. Gray just wants to know what is said about him because he can HEAR his name being said. And Gajeel knows if it’s anything juicy Levy would tell him unless it’s said in the secret language and so he can’t gossip with her later and it annoys him.

Then one day the thunder league shows up and Freed hears Lucy complaining about Natsu destroying something so he just pops over and starts chatting not even realizing that it’s in this other language and everyone’s like “WHAT ITS NOT A SECRET LANGUAGE THEY MADE UP?!”

Cue “book club” starting up that is just them complaint (and reading smut) where no one can bother them.

Freed has sworn himself to secrecy to not share what language they’re talking in because he loves book club too much.

Nalu head cannons for a college AU I have been marinating in my mind palace;

Natsu is a year older than Lucy. He joined a frat, the stoner frat. He loves doing dumb shit with his friends and giggling. Their parties are chill and usually people know that they’re the stoner frat so it’s a good first party vibe. He’s studying chemical engineering (PRY THAT FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS) and likes to pretend that he’s stupid when he’s actually so passionate about his field. He actually becomes a TA later that’s how good at chem Eng he is.

Lucy is a year younger like I said. She’s of course a marketing major (closest she could get to writing that applied to Jude’s needs) and she rushed a sorority. After she went through becoming a full sister one of the first parties she goes to is at a different frat and it was kind of crazy so it takes her a few more weeks for her friends to convince her to go to another party. This one’s at the stoner (natsu’s) frat which are known for being chiller! Lucy finally says yes and has a great time. She decides these are now going to be her friends.

Lucy is a good student and is still worried to do anything too crazy because Jude has drilled it into her head that she is the future face of the company blah blah blah so even tho they all smoke she doesn’t. She hangs with them and bakes them cookies and stuff for their munchies. The frat boys (natsu) are so comfortable with her. Of course that means that her and natsu get closer. They are flirting without even knowing it.

Natsu gets so much shit about how into Lucy he is but he’s respectful and she hasn’t really done anything to make it clear to him that she’s anything more than friendly. And she has said that Jude won’t let her date anyone (sad). Lucy has the most school girl crush on natsu that she knows she cannot act on. It’s painful to watch.

One day she gets in a fight with Jude and decides to rebel. How you may ask? Well she’s bffs with the stoner frat she’s going to smoke weed! But she’s so scared because she’s watched others try it for the first time and it’s made them cough or get too high the first time. So what does natsu do? He offers to shot gun for her. If you don’t know what that is it’s when person A inhales the smoke and then blows it into person B’s mouth. Lucy says okay because everyone’s like “that’s so much safer you get so much less etc” so she says okay.

When natsu takes the inhale for Lucy he has to then blow it into her mouth and she hadn’t realized how close they were going to get and oh god he’s looking at her eyes to make sure she’s okay and now his hot lips are nearly touching hers and he blows out and she inhales and it’s the hottest thing that’s ever happened to her. Of course she coughs ruining the moment but it awakens something inside.

And they lived awkwardly ever after the end (kidding but I may have just convinced myself that this is an outline and I wanna save some of the brain worms)

Nalu Drabble: Rough Day

It was that day again, the day that came around once a year. The day that killed him inside.

Lucy knew that natsu wasn’t one to share his feelings. He kept to myself always wanting to be the smile and shoulder for others. Never wanting anyone to worry about himself.

If he kept all the bad inside and away then he wouldn’t have to ever deal with it.

But on this day even Natsu couldn’t hide the pain he was feeling.

And so Lucy did the only thing she knew how to do. She supported him and knew that she just had to be there for him.

She woke up earlier than him not wanting to disturb his sleep she kissed his head and ran to the local coffee shop, grabbing his favorite breakfast order.

Getting back and placing the treats down on the counter Lucy hopped back into bed snuggling right up to him. He was warm it wasn’t her fault that she craved that feeling.

Natsu latched onto her feeling her chill, “where’d you go” came muffled and mumbled due to the morning grog in his voice.

“Just wanted to get you something for breakfast it’s ready when you are.

He signed and snuggled further into Lucy. She didn’t need him to say anything she just knew that was his way of thanking her.

Today was going to be hard on him but Lucy knew just how to soften the edges and take some of the pressure off of his shoulders.

Nalu Drabble: Waking Up

It’s such a nice day out. Spring is bleeding into summer, the trees are filling out adding much needed shade, the birds are chirping, the bunnies are munching on every green patch of grass they can find. Lucy had a do nothing day. One of those relaxing days where she can sleep in and not worry about anything. No plans no job no writing deadline.

She looked up from her bed lazily rubbing the arm of natsu having since given up on kicking him out of her bed.

“I wanna go for a walk today I think”

Natsu hummed his agreement and pulled her closer to his body. It was time for them to cuddle with the window open and the fresh spring breeze hitting them.

“Can we go to that bakery with the fresh fruit breads?” He said nuzzling into her hair content to stay here until she made him get up.

“We’d have to start getting ready….” Came her reply bringing her hand up to his hair to rake her nails through it knowing he would melt further into her.

“Okay fine” came his reply. Softly he moved his arms under Lucy pulling her tight to his chest before he lifted her out of the bed

Lucy couldn’t stop herself from giggling as they got ready for a comforting stroll to the bakery.

I have been saying for years now that natsu can cook. He grew up alone and needed to learn to survive on his own. He can’t always be out there buying food as much as he would probably love to. He loves trying foods and flavors and wants to eat everything (literally) so he teaches himself how to replicate foods he loves! This bleeds over into Lucy and how if Lucy loves a food he will learn to make it for her for special occasions (which let’s me real with sentimental natsu that could be always).

Lucy on the other hand cannot cook. She grew up wanting to but she was never allowed in the kitchen. She can boil pasta and other very basic essentials but she can never get the flavors right. She cannot balance the flavors always adding too much salt or acid to a dish and not knowing how to save it. She never gets the timings right always burning something because she walked away or forgot to chop something. Natsu never minds he loves her and wants to eat her food says it’s full of love.

Lucy can however bake! It’s a science it’s a recipe that is written out to the gram and has timings all over it. She can follow written instructions and mix everything together well. She prides herself on baked goods and the guild is happy to let her. Erza has been known to ask for strawberry cake often. She will make natsu spicy chocolate brownies once a month at least because he inhales those things.

Natsu cannot bake. That man cooks with his heart (years of practice) and thinks winging baking is easy! It isn’t. He creates mush and burnt things and it’s not good. Lucy will try everything though because he made it!

They slowly teach each other once they move in and now they are an unstoppable duo of the kitchen <3333
