‧₊˚ ⋅ 𓐐𓎩 It’s funny how yesterday one can be cheerful and the next day unwell. I woke up today feeling sick and unable to stand, so I could not attend school. Maybe that’s just how life is—unpredictable. The thing you were so sure of in the past, could be one thing you are doubting now. I guess the only constant thing in this world is change. 

I just let myself rot in my bed and take medicine to ease the pain I was feeling, letting the warm light from the sun seep in to my curtains signaling that the morning has come. Everything felt different lately, that even my life seems to have mood swings with the sudden changes and realizations I had been experiencing the past few days. I just remember myself being busy yesterday, and now, here I am in this quiet room, ill and suffering from pain. I let out a sigh, assuring myself that everything will be alright.

‧₊˚ ⋅ 𓐐𓎩 There’s something about Mondays that make the whole world busy. The classroom is so engaged and preoccupied with all the assignments, projects, and performance tasks. And somehow in the midst of all, I find myself blending into the same pit, actively working and immersed into the rush of it all.

Juggling everything from schoolwork to personal life as a graduating student is not for the weak. It’s tiresome, really. However, despite it all, I always tend to look at the brighter side, motivating myself that it will all be worth it in the end. In just a month, I will be on my way out to pursue my passion, and that is enough as my daily reminder to maneuver forward.

time flies.

‧₊˚ ⋅ 𓐐𓎩 Waking up to the second day of the month was not good as expected. The feeling of period cramps felt so unmotivating that I was not able to check out anything on my to-do list this morning. I was later on accompanied by my cat who slept beside me. It was the first time after weeks that I was able to bond with her since being tangled with busy schedules and deadlines to meet. In that moment, I realized how much she had grown—how fast the days are.

It’s strange how time can be so slow and quick at the same time. Yesterday, I used to say how I wanted our kittens to grow instantly, but now it feels as if they were growing old too fast. But then again, we do not control our lives and the best thing to do is to cherish every moment with our loved ones. Life does not stop when you want to, so despite the period cramps, I motivated myself to accomplish something before ending my Sunday.

‧₊˚ ⋅ 𓐐𓎩 Today the school held an event for everyone. It is a moment for all of us to gather and bond with each other. Therefore, I entered the school with my dad to enjoy this year's Family Day. The event included raffles with the possibility to win cash prizes and kilos of rice, parlor games, and of course eating together. Throughout the event, it was a wonderful opportunity to see everyone with their families playing and knowing more about each other while having fun. I turned my head, satisfied with seeing families smile, realizing they have no regrets in attending and celebrating this special day with everyone. 

As the afternoon progressed, we then set up our food for lunch, which made my mouth water at the sight of the lavish spread. While not everyone attended the event and most were without their parents, we all gathered at the table, sharing stories and enjoying the delicious food together. The classroom had a comforting atmosphere different from before. After a while, I was not here to stress about studies but to simply chat without trying to prove myself to anyone. It was a hot afternoon, different from the past days, but I know it was another memory I will forever cherish.  And so, the journey continues.

a night to remember.

‧₊˚ ⋅ 𓐐𓎩 Days passed since the midterm exam, and there I was just a few minutes ago walking up the staircase to receive a certificate of recognition after my name was called as part of the honor roll during the third quarter. It felt so fulfilling to know that all my efforts and hard work to improve my grades paid off. Not long ago, I was surrounded by expectations, responsibilities, and unending nostalgia. There were times when it felt so unbearable that I forgot the feeling of appreciating and celebrating even the little things in life. It was today that the weight of the recent weeks seemed to lift lightly.

Besides this day, tonight was even better and probably one of the nights I will forever treasure. After almost a year, I was able to attend another concert of artists I listen to. This night was not just an ordinary concert, because being able to hear these artists sing and do what they love motivated me to do the same. It was when the first band Nameless Kids, who I just recently discovered, played their songs I have been listening to for the past week, made me the happiest. As they sang my newly favorite song of theirs, I let my gaze wander as I held up my phone to record and move to the beat. Despite the noisy and crowded Rose Garden, the moment the next performer entered, Maki, I couldn’t help but smile to see another artist I truly admire and have been supporting. For the first time in a while, all my worries were gone in an instant. We were greeted by his song “Bakit” which was surprisingly one of my favorites of his. The atmosphere was filled with loud shouts from the crowd, but all I can hear were voices of passion and bliss.

It did not only end there because just after the concert at Rose Garden finished, we immediately ran towards Melvin Jones to watch tonight's highlight, December Avenue. It was entertaining to see everyone so dedicated to run inside of Melvin that I could not help but laugh while squeezing in through the crowd. The air, although cold, did not stop me from moving forward and staying. The grandstand was occupied with individuals coming from near and far locations just to see their favorite artists. After watching other talented artists such as Illest Morena and Kyle Echarri, the most awaited OPM band finally showed up. The whole audience was just singing along with their songs regardless of the freezing Baguio air. Hearing December Avenue live made something inside me shift. It was too good to be true to be able to see them for the first time without paying a single penny. As they played their final song “Sa Ngalan ng Pag-Ibig”, everyone’s phone lit up the whole venue while our voices were going along with the song. There, my night finally ended with a smile.
