Guess who finally made it into Heavensward!! :D

So, Nana is needing my help less and less with getting around the game, but she’ll get stuck on things every now and then, mainly when it comes to searching for things like in that large red circle on the map. She’s been doing lots of quests, which she says are rather boring because she’s so strong (being lvl 57 in lvl 50 or below areas). 

Here’s a conversation about things in case anyone was interested!

Me:  did you watch the long banquet cutscene?

Me: or whatever it was. i forget.

Me: that long cutscene where a bunch of stuff happens and the writing gets better.

Nana:  I got to the part where I was apprehended and tied up and I don't remember his name the gray guy with scars on his face... he freed me and we all left and then Papa blew his whistle so I didn't get to see the rest of it when I came back I was somewhere else and cid came to the rescue...so now I'm off 2 Ishgard... I turned it off because of Maintenance going to be happening but now I'm getting excited I will be on it as much as I can I think I have to go in the dungeon not sure. . I would like to go into some anyways so I can get more points

Me:  the big, dark skinned guy? Raubahn?

Nana: yes

Me:  I saw where you were and that you were in a cutscene and figured it was that big one. i knew you were close and was waiting right inside the gates of Ishgard for you lol

Nana:  Oh no... do I go in a dungeon?

Me:  no, I was just hanging out in the city.

Me: I think you go into Ishgard first before a dungeon, but not sure,..

Nana:  I can't wait to go in there but because of Maintenance I just didn't chance it..

Me:  yeah

Me:  well, i'm excited for you. lol

Nana: (emoji of happy child jumping)

Me:  you're finally leaving A Realm Reborn and get into Heavensward

Nana:  Okay I will tomorrow for sure don't know what time I think I'm going to have to go to the bank and Walmart to get scripts

Nana: Can I ever go back

Me:  no problem.

Me:  yes, at anytime

Me: the story will have you go back sometimes

Nana:  (blue thumbs up emoji)

Me:  you're just unlocking more content.

Nana:  Okay going to go do the dishes after dinner I made spaghetti sauce and spaghetti.. Makes a messy kitchen

Me:  lol okay, take care.

Nana:   (blue thumbs up emoji)

Another day, as I log in and creep around, and check on her to see where she is:

Me:  You made it to Ishgard! Make sure you interact with all the crystals (aethernet shards) since you're in a new place again.

Nana:  Yes I have been attuning...

(I laughed because I got corrected. She’s got it!)

Me:  Is the story better now?

Me: you said it was getting boring.

Nana:  The game was getting boring cuz I couldn't go ahead cuz I needed to go in that dungeon* ...so, I just kept fighting monsters over and over that part was boring now it's exciting again... 

(insert some smiley face emoji that looks like :D, but stars for eyes)

* dungeon = Steps of Faith (she waited for me to go with her)

Me:  Oh, i see. well, i'm glad

Me: what do you think of the new palce?

Nana:  I'll let you know about the storyline... PS I was so happy to see CID again

Me: Lol!

Nana:  So far it looks pretty dreary there

Me:  Yeah, Cid's going to be around for a looong time

Me: He's still around for me even and im caught up in story.

Me: Yeah, Ishgard is going through a war

Me: but you'll learn about that as you go.

Nana:  I've already signed up for some Quest.... you get a lot more points for them here

(She talks about how much points quests, etc give for her soo much. Lol)

Me:  awesome

Nana: (emoji thing of that yellow dog, Jake from Adventure Time - arms stretched skyward, looking excited)

Me:  Lol

Me: Someone sent me a message asking how you feel about the new viera race since I said you loved rabbits.

Nana:  Yes I love that new Viera... I want to be one.. you will have to explain to me how to do that..... in the trailer film she looks so powerful...

(I showed her both of the viera and dancer reveals)

Me:  Are you going to try and get the dancer job later?

Nana:  Explain

Nana: Where do I do that?

Me:  dancer comes with the Shadowbringers expansion

Me: No idea yet lol

Nana:  Okay I will stay tuned for more information...

Me:  I don't really know anything about it other than what the trailer showed.

Me: I'll let you know how to change race when we get the expansion.

@_@; I’m going to need to show her how to watch old cutscenes...  I’ve been following her around Sea of Clouds while she quests, and since she’s overleveled for the area, she’s creating mobs again. (shoot one, two more rush in, she backs up, aggros more, they beat her up, i run in and help her, or she just darts off) Sometimes, she gets lost on the map and I’ll redirect her where to go.

Did I mention she asked me if there was a strategy guide for this game? Because that came up at one point. Lol I told her it’d be too big, so they don’t bother.

Merry Christmas, happy holidays, and happy new year from Nana and I! ♥

Sorry it’s been quiet on this end lately! Oh, she’s been doing better with her knee! She says it hasn’t been hurting her like it used to, so she’s making progress. She’s currently on Keeper of The Lake and lvl 56, and she’s super excited to play blue mage and change to a viera (she loves rabbits). She also has been asking me for tips on how to play better since a pug pointed out that she needed to play her bard songs more. We’ve gone over how those work a few times and she’s been doing great keeping those up! When we tried Titan HM, she dodged most of the landslides and earthquakes up until near the end of the fight. I’m so proud. She lasted longer than those that were higher level. xD

I also took advantage of the sale and bought her a carbuncle mount, which she hasn’t seen yet. That’s kind of rabbty, right? =p

Still around!

Hey guys! Sorry it’s been quiet here, but we’re still around! Nana’s been busy and her knee went out, so the meds have been making her too sleepy to play while she recovers.

She’s been in game sometimes, but not for long and hasn’t made much progress, but she’s hit level 54.

Just thought I’d let you all know in case you’re wondering where we’ve been. I hope all is well for the rest of you! ♥

New Primals & Some Dungeons

Hi guys! Nana has reached level 53 and has cleared more content, and is still in the ARR portion. Someone asked if we’ve reached the banquet, and unfortunately, not yet, but we’re getting there.

Leviathan was definitely something new, and she looked a little lost, trying to follow my character across the boat. She did get hit by things a few times, but all went well in the end. 

Next up, we tackled Haukke Manor hard, which I felt was good for her to experience because of the boss mechanics at the end. Up until this point, she hadn’t been too concerned with taking care of the adds. I don’t think it’s been something that important before this, whereas fellow party members can help pick up the slack. I normally don’t explain much unless I see some issues, but I did this time. I noticed she was trying to get the adds early on, but she may not have seen the others, so she stayed locked on the boss. I don’t think she maneuvers the camera around too much since the games she’s used to playing don’t rely as heavily on that or at all. The first attempt was a flop though, so I explained the mechanics again, and since she was mostly familiar with the fight, she knew what to expect. I know it’s old news, but watching her dodge visual aoes on the ground still makes me smile. She still does really well with that. Anyway, as the adds came out, she moved onto those, and everything went great this time! Dungeon cleared!

Next, we had Pharos Sirius. I was a little nervous about this one, but still curious to see how she’d handle things. First boss was add city! I was so glad we picked up Haukke HM before this. Our party was a bit rusty with this dungeon, so some of us were still trying to remember things as we went. We wiped the first time, being overwhelmed by all the adds, but I noticed her focusing on trying to take those down. Since the yellow aoe bit in the center was something new, she wasn’t avoiding it though, but regardless, we cleared it! For the 2nd boss, the mama Zu, I did warn her not to touch any of the eggs or mama bird would get angry, and she did just that and did not target them... but, lol.. She went ham with her quick nock and kept getting slammed by the boss as the debuffs stacked on. I was confused at first as to what was happening till I saw half the eggs were gone. She enraged the Zu enough to finally kill her just before we beat it. xD; When we reached Siren, I gave a brief explanation, aaaand it went just about perfect. Whenever adds came out, she was on them. :]

We also beat Stone Vigil hard (before the others), but I actually can’t remember anything from it. ;o; I didn’t update soon enough so the above is by my fuzzy memory.

Sometime later, she had unlocked more. We knocked out Odin, Ramuh, and Hullbreaker Isle. 

With Odin, it went pretty fast. I had to gather some from a PF, dangling the “unsynced” bit to make the wait less. (She doesn’t like to wait in queues long).

Ramuh was similar to our last boss of Haukke Manor HM, and adds were missed, so it was a wipe. xD; She adjusted though and it was downed.

Hullbreaker was one she seemed to like. She said it was beautiful. She got caught in a few bear traps, and at one point, we took a turn and she got lost and continued on without us. Poor Nana was defeated by an angry Nanka. After reviving her, we avenged her, and continued on. There wasn’t much to note on the worm and gorilla bosses, but the last boss was a little tricky. With the water spouts? she just relied on following us, which worked out alright for the most part. When the cyclones were placed in the area we were all standing, I had to just shield and heal through it, but we survived the explosions.

After clearing those 3, she said she had Qarn hard and Ultima to do, but we realized Qarn wasn’t unlocked yet, so she went to continue that quest to get it. By the time we got there, it was late and she decided it was time for bed.

Sorry if this update wasn’t as interesting. I was struggling to remember things and may have left some things out... D8 I’ll have more screenshots and stuff next time.

She Knows Now; & Some Cleared XIV Content

Hi guys! It’s been awhile! \o/

Alright so, Nana knows about this blog now. Up until that point of telling her, I really wasn’t sure how to do it. ..Haha. But, she took it well! She actually really enjoyed the idea. At first, she didn’t understand. I went into it after she asked me about the netflix series, Stranger Things, that I got my mom and her hooked on. With that, I asked her about Dad of Light (neither of us have seen it), and then explained what I knew it to be about. Next, I started telling her that people (I may have said her “fans”) were referring to her as Nana of Light. She for some reason took this as the FC were calling her this because they sometimes call her Nana. So I went into talking about how she has a blog about her adventures and that these people/fans were all following it. She kinda looked at me smiling, but taken aback. So I asked her to pull out her laptop so I could pull the account up for her to look at, but she ended up turning it on and logging into FFXIV before handing it over. It threw me off for a bit because I looked at it and realized she could get 130+ fps on max settings while standing around the higher level area of the .. shroud outside the Sylph area. I forgot which one that is. But.. Wtffffffffff?!

Anyway..! I showed her the blog and she may have asked me why I did it, because I remember me sharing about how she wanted to play on the ffxiv subreddit and how there were a bunch of requests for updates, etc. She kept laughing though. Kinda like.. a happy laugh, not one where she thought it was something funny. She does however think things she does on here to be hilarious at times. She ended up bookmarking it to read later, which she does every now and then, but hasn’t caught up with everything. At some point, she said she wanted to be friends with all of you. 

I still remember one of you suggesting that a bunch of us go with her when she starts doing the 24 man raids, and last I checked, she actually has the Crystal Tower chain started, so it looks like we’ll probably be doing that sometime, and I’ll be letting you guys know on here if any of you would like to hop aboard that with us.

We finally cleared Praetorium and Castrum Meridianum, which Nana got lost in a couple of times times because the group we were with kept running off without her. I had to go back and save her when she found a mob while trying to find us, and the party just kept going. At the very least, she was able to watch all of her cutscenes though.

She still really likes Cid, by the way. She says he and Thancred are her favorites.

There was a large break in time where it was a combination of it being too hot and being busy, and us missing each other, so we didn’t get much done in game. The other day though, we got a PF group (+ FC member) and cleared Thornmarch Hard. The group was very pleasant and it went by fast. Thanks again, strangers. :] I found it funny though. She had tried to queue for the trial alone and saw the wait to be 11 minutes and thought it was way too long and cancelled it to wait for me to help her with it. If only she knew the true, harsh life of the dps queue times....

She says she can speak telepathically now. 

Me: “oh, you have the echo now” Nana: “is that what that’s called?”

A few people asked me why/how she ended up with the laptop she has because it’s so powerful. Lol. She told me a friend who used to work for Microsoft helped her pick it out. She was watching sales somewhere and found it, showed it to him, and he said “that’s the one”. So, she bought it and is very happy with the purchase. I would be too!

Oh yeah, she tried to give me her gil because she didn’t know what to do with it. I then realized I never introduced her to the market board, so we went over that. We also talked about the housing system, comparing it to something like the Sims. She seemed to think it sounded cute, so I’ll be helping her unlock some private chambers. She has some Grand company stuff to do. We also went over what Gold Saucer was which she was curious about, but she says she’ll try when she has nothing else to do. (Nana’s just interested in her exp points!)

Hi Anon!

I asked her about this a bit ago over the phone, and she says she sometimes doesn’t read it. I’m guilty of doing the same as well with ARR, so I can kinda understand.. I assured her that around this point in the story, the writing starts to get better, so she’s looking forward to that. Anyway, she told me .. (she was saying a few M names, and I think i heard “Maleficent” in there) Minfillia was talking to a fairy and they all got attacked, and she had to carry bodies, then ended up where she’s at now (in Northern Thanalan, outside Castrum Meridianum). She also said that when Cid showed up, she cracked up because he’s in every Final Fantasy game. She tries to look for characters from other FF games that she’s played, but can’t seem to find any.

I’m really looking forward to her wrapping up ARR as well. I hope I can get her through that next week!

A Non-Game Update. >3>

Hey guys! It’s official. We’re seeing Nana tomorrow (Fri, June 15). Trip’s all booked and stuff! 

So, why am I telling you guys this? This means I’m finally showing her this blog. xD;; She still has NO idea it exists or that she has such wonderful people following her journey. I really have no idea how she’ll take it. Lol... Ahhhh! I hope she thinks it’s cool! But anyway, I’ll be showing her stuff from you guys finally too, so if you have something to ask her or something, go ahead and start sending them my way. :] Just keep in mind that I maaay put them on the blog in case anyone has the same question.

In the mean time, before the trip, hopefully I can make some progress with her in game. She’s been busy with irl stuff. D:

Edit: Oh! I almost forgot to mention. She told me about a strong white mage who was helping her out in Mor dhona (she described fire flies and non player people enemies), after she died there and got a raise from them, then was “hypnotizing” (putting things to sleep) for her so she could kill something. Thanks! That meant a lot to her. It sounds like she tries to carry phoenix downs so she can help do the same. She only just learned how to use them though.

Stormblood: Acquired!

A tiny update! Nana got Stormblood installed. Oh boy!

She still has yet to hit up those 2 long ARR story dungeons. We’ll be knocking those out soon though.

Here’s part of a conversation we had about that though (Note - she’s using speech to text):

Nana:  I'm really tired today so I'm just going to be on here looking around and doing some collecting to get my points Nana: What I just downloaded is it new Lands 2? Me:  it's basically 2 whole games slapped onto what you had before. there's a lot of new maps added on, etc Nana:  Oh good well I still have things to do here some Bart work Me:  you're a bard, not a bart lol Nana:  I knew that look funny after I sent it LOL Nana: Really really tired Me:  lol no problem Nana:  Okay going to go maybe tomorrow we could be in a party here Me:  yeah, we could do that. your next two dungeons are 8 person parties with a lot of story to watch in them. Nana:  Okay yeah I'm getting stronger I can knock them out with one blow. Bam 

Haha, I like hearing her talk about her character like that.

The boyfriend and I are planning on making the trip to visit her pretty soon finally! Not entirely sure when, but in 1-2 weeks. Hypehypehype!

Hi guys!

Nana is still going strong and enjoying herself. Last I checked, she was roaming around Northern Thanalan, at “Camp Bullfrog”. The gearset I updated her with around level 49, but felt like surprising her with a glamoured version of it. The above shot is what it ended up being, which she really liked. At 50 (yes! She finally hit 50!), I surprised her with a Ramuh bow to go along with it, plus another gear upgrade. We haven’t done any new dungeons yet since the last update. We did, however, do Garuda and Cape Westwind. When she unlocked Garuda, she had parked her character outside the instance entrance and told me she was “waiting outside the gates of hell”. The run itself went pretty smoothly and without much to really note. Same goes for Cape Westwind. Although, I did notice her get hit by a cleave from the boss, so I may need to go over that with her.

I notice she doesn’t seem to have much of a preference on customizing things. She’s happy with anything I give her, and every time I ask her what color she wants something, she says she doesn’t mind. The closest I see her get with customization is changing up her minion every now and then (she’s been running around with the Nana Bear that I gave her early on). She’s just happy to play the game though it seems.

For awhile, she wasn’t using a battle chocobo, and struggling with certain areas when alone, dying. I guess she is making death parades in stronger areas.. I helped her unlock her battle bird though, and she’s said that’s made such a huge difference for her. I gave her 99 gysahl greens too, so she should be good for awhile there. When I brought up how she could recolor her bird, I asked her if there was a color she wanted, but she didn’t seem too interested in going through the trial and error or feeding and waiting 6 hours at a time. When I offered to do it for her while she was asleep, she was on board with that. So I aimed to get her a white one, but using the same method I did previously didn’t work (somehow I did 1 successful feeding and went from default to white one time), and I ended up with sylph green, i think. The above screenshot was mainly to show her the chocobo and have a more recent/cute picture of her character. The first thing she wanted to do when logging on the next morning, was go see him.

So now that she is level 50, this seems to greatly bother her. As I ran along with her while she worked on quests, she pointed out twice, on different occasions,  that she wasn’t “getting any points”. I wasn’t entirely sure this would happen since she only had ARR, but I explained what was going on once it clicked for me. For weeks, I had been looking around for her for a PC download version of the game that was a standalone Heavensward. This apparently no longer exists, and all I found it on were two very sketchy websites that I ended up avoiding. I guess I just wanted her to get the sense of awe and excitement I had with the HW menu screen (plus, it’s the prettiest one, imo!). I think you can purchase physical copies still, but her laptop actually wasn’t built with a CD/DVD drive...? (oh, I recently found out she has an Acer Predator laptop. That really surprised me! And the keyboard is backlit with a red light, so it also matches the red PS4 controller I picked out for her. This makes me happy. Lol) But anyway, I explained her options to her, and it seems like she’s going to be purchasing the complete bundle of ARR/HW/SB Stormblood (thanks to nightmarecandle for clearing this up for me! I didn’t know SB included HW). I wanted to buy it for her, but had to deal with car repairs then found out someone slashed two of my tires?? What terrible timing and luck.

She still has a decent bit of MSQ left and is a bit over leveled thanks to all her side quests, so she still has content to work on at least. I think Castrum Meridianum and Praetorium are up next. Plus, there’s finishing her bard quests, which she for some reason keeps pronouncing and spelling as “bart”.

Oh right, we still haven’t made the trip to visit her, but that’s still coming up, just a bit delayed due to irl events. Anyway, I hope you all are enjoying the new patch!

Brand New Bard

Hi guys! 

Nana is still firing away~ She got to level 44, and had not touched her bard soul crystal. She's been more focused on her MSQ and side quests, and her archer quests kinda took a back seat. I’d remind her a few times, but didn’t feel it was too urgent. Recently, I had mentioned that she was close to being able to get the lvl 45 gear from the bard quests once she got caught up  with them. After asking me where to go for those, I brought her to Quarrymill and lead her over to the guy. Apparently, she actually had been all caught up on her archer quests, but hadn’t started the bard ones yet. When she told me it was telling her that “it was red” and she wasn’t able to do it, we talked about the soul crystal and how that worked with switching from a class to a job. After she found hers, she put it on, and told me she had “less weapons”. I was confused at first, but found out she was talking about the skills on her bar. I didn’t think of it at the time, but i’m wondering as I type this if she thinks each skill is a different type of arrow, since a lot of  the icons tend to be a bunch of pictures of arrows on them, and that’s why she’s referring to them as weapons rather than skills. I’ll have to ask her about that later. 

I explained how she still had all her skills, but changing from a class to a job was kinda funky, and she needed to arrange her bard ones herself. I had written up a guide on how to do that previously for her and relinked that. Since I was planning on visiting her relatively soon, I suggested that if she had any trouble with it, I can help her with that when I come by, and she could play on archer when we ran her dungeons. I had thought that’s what we were going to do soon since she told me which ones she unlocked. However, she seemed determined to figure this bard stuff out first and said she wanted to hold off on them for the day. After that, she ran around, shooting stuff, trying out the default bard skill arrangement, seeing how it was. She entered in a fate, which synced her down, and unfortunately, a nearby squirrel thing, which was considerably higher leveled, decided to join in her death parade she built (she still jumps right into mobs when it’s not in a dungeon), which promptly destroyed her. As she laid on the ground, she says to me, “my archer would have whipped those guys”. Ahhh! I tried to explain what happened to prevent her from thinking her bard was that under powered. It was late in the day, however, and she decided to call it a night. Before she logs, she tells me she’s going to get stronger tomorrow.

The next day, she decides she’s ready to do her two new dungeons, Stone Vigil and Dzemael Darkhold. Sometime before we go though, she asks me how to switch back to archer and if she can go back and forth. It doesn’t seem like she’s fixed her bar yet, which is fine, for now. As I’m waiting for the boyfriend guy to log in to tank for us, she reminds me that Stone Vigil is part of her MSQ and that it’s in Coerthas. I smile every time she tells me little things like this. It was then, however, that I suddenly realized she had been leading me to the spot on the map right outside the actual dungeon before telling me she’s good to go, so I let her know we didn’t have to do that as long as it was unlocked.

After the boyfriend joins up with us, I queue us up for Stone Vigil first since it’s part of her MSQ. Our 4th ends up being a quiet, yet friendly, level 40 something dragoon. (thank you, random drg) The boyfriend decides to make huge pulls for the run since I’m healing. Oh! I ended up parsing this run to see how Nana’s doing. For some reason, I never thought to try up until this point. But lo and behold, she was 1st or 2nd throughout nearly all of the dungeon! Omg I am so proud. Lol!

Things went pretty smoothly though. We got extra exp/mobs for the leveling dps and only had 1 death. While Nana is quick to dodge the red stuff, she didn’t realize the blue icy patches on the ground for the last boss was a threat to her. In the end though, she got a level. Yay, 45! \o/

For Dzemael Darkhold, someone from FC tagged along as our other dps. Since the previous run went so smoothly, we decided to pull large here too. But unfortunately, it got fudged and we dropped.. Lol. Round two went great though. \o/ For the 1st boss, I explained how the purple light from the crystal worked for Nana, but I guess she didn’t see it and stood outside of it. D8 She eventually stood in it though after a couple times of relocating the boss. The rest of the dungeon was big pulls as well. For the 2nd boss, which I think might be the most dodging you have to do in a fight up until this point, she did pretty well and dodged everything. @_@ Then on the last boss, i’m not sure if she was attacking the crystals when the boss would tether to them, but she avoided all the other bad stuff, despite standing a bit too close to the boss and getting whacked by his spin move. Another level was gained from the run and she got to 46! Huzzah! 

After we exit, she says that run was scary. She does her usual of telling me she’s done playing, but ends up talking to me or runs off to do side quests before logging off. This time, it was asking me where I got my eagle (Rose Lanner) and if I could fly. I’m slowly keeping track of the mounts she gets interested in so i can help her with them later. I can’t wait til she gets close to wrapping up ARR and starting up Heavensward. I really want to know how she feels about the direction of the story. I also really want to see how she does when she gets to fly for the first time.

Lord of Crags

Titan has been downed! \o/ 

.. And so was Nana. When the arena had the red telegraph along the edges, she tried to follow what we were doing, which was standing near it, but she stood in it, and thus, toppled over. I dropped from an instant landslide, thanks to lag, and without me healing, we wiped. With the 2nd attempt, she learned from her mistake, and avoided those red areas. She didn’t dodge Weight of the Land and took damage from that, but the next time she found herself standing in it, she avoided it. It’s so neat watching her learn. And she dodged all the landslides too. :]

When we got out:

(We learned recently that my brother is going to be a father.)

We talked about that for a bit and about visiting her sometime (which is probably when i’ll bring up the blog and you guys), and she ended up logging for the night, so I couldn’t ask her about the fight.

Also, she’s now 37, but still not a bard. Last i knew, she started her bard quests, but i’m not sure she finished them. i’ll have to check on that next time. She seems to have picked up the pace on her leveling though. She gets about a level a day now. She’s also seems to not pick up as many side quests anymore. The other day, she was telling me she was working on getting the list smaller before we went into Brayflox. That seemed to be what she wanted to work on for a bit before progressing the MSQ. 

At one point, I tried to introduce her to Leveling Roulette, enticing her with “bonus experience points” because she likes to point out to me when something gives her a lot, but surprisingly she didn’t seem interested, and teleported off to work more on MSQ. I think she’s too into it, but I’ll try asking her again when she’s not playing.

Oh right, she was also telling me how much she loved that monsters are starting to ignore her and it was a game changer for her. I explained that when you’re a high enough level above a monster, they won’t attack you. She also thinks it’s funny how strong she is now when she goes back to the older leveling areas and kills things in one shot.

Me: “...  i don't have enough hands to count how many times i've been in all those dungeons.  we have most of them memorized since we've been playing for 4 years “

Nana: “ Do you see that ability I have the button lights up and I do the last blow to the monster the Red Cross hair?

Me: “yeah” Nana: “That's like going to Disneyland every week you know what door is going to open I got it “

We used to go to Disney Land sooo much when I was little.. But I’m not sure if she was comparing the dungeon memorization to knowing the doors in Disney Land, or if she just gets really excited for Misery’s End to get activated. Either way, I found it funny.

Still Going

Hi guys! o/ Sorry for the lack of updates. We kept missing each other and the times we were playing, there wasn’t too much going on.

Anyway, her free days ran out, so she started her subscription. she somehow tried to pay for 128 days? I’m not sure how, but she told me it wouldn’t let her, so she settled for 90. We got our Refer a Friend rewards from that and she’s now level 32. She has yet to unlock bard though. Despite knowing she doesn’t have to do the side quests, she still chooses to do them. I originally thought she didn’t want to when I told her they were optional, but when I asked her recently if she did, she said she loved doing them, just not when she gets stuck. (every now and then, she accumulates way too many quests, and when she gets stuck, moves onto another, so she has a lot active usually.. lol) She tends to get tripped up when she needs to target something and do an emote, but she eventually gets it. I’ve been trying to follow along with her with quest guides opened up on my other monitor for when she gets lost, but she’s been doing pretty well without my assistance, so I end up just following her around often.

Sometimes, people in my FC will tell me they’ve found her somewhere and might try to wave or say hello, but she either doesn’t see them and runs off or she’s afk/tabbed. Other times, they try to talk to her in FC chat, but i found out that she wasn’t talking back to them. I told them she misses things in chat a lot because this happens often with me, so i have to say things more than once sometimes. The other night, someone told me she was talking to them though and that she just figured out how to change the chat. When I asked her about this, she told me she had been responding to them, but was talking in another chat this entire time. xD; Every now and then, I’ll craft her a new set of gear and mail those to her, along with some new minions, and mail those to her, so she’s gotten pretty good at keeping her gear up to date on her own. I no longer have to remind her to update it. Every set i give her, I try to dye it to match her character better, and every time, she thinks she looks so awesome. She sounds so excited with each update. She recently got her grand company chocobo, which i helped her unlock. She forgot that you got to name it, and didn’t have anything planned, so she asked me for ideas. I tend to just name things after food, so I’m not a very good person to ask. (i just like food) I told her a few of mine, along with one of the boyfriend’s, so she got to learn what FUBAR meant. She found that hilarious. Me: uhhhhh KFC? Nana: lol El Pollo Loco She ended up just naming it Loco, and told me I could rename it. I’ll try to think of something for her later I guess. If you have some good names, shoot me some and I’ll run them by her.
