With the development of the internet, people can absorb varied kinds of information from the internet. Through Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and many other websites, we can be in touch with the fastest and latest news. We can even catch up with what is currently happening by watching live shows. Businesses are also using soft implant on the internet to promote themselves and their products. We can see many “invisible” advertisements in corners during we are online. Big brands even have their own social account. Now we are going to research Apple Inc.’s social media presence and profiles. It did a great job on seizing consumer's mind.

Apple Inc. is an American multinational technology company headquartered in Cupertino, California, that designs, develops, and sells consumer electronics, computer software, and online services.[1] Data from Statista shows that Apple was the second most popular mobile OS with a market share of 44.3 percent in the United State in May 2018.[2] There are many well-known products like iPhone smartphone, Mac computer and Apple Watch for hardware devices. Apple Inc. also has famous operating systems, like macOS and iOS. Famous online services like iTunes and iOS App Store also belong to this brand—Apple Inc. As a brand popular among young consumers, Apple Inc. has his own Facebook and Twitter.

When you click on Apple Inc.' Facebook page, the first two things that catch ed my eyes was the background and the Facebook photo.

The background of it is "Think different"——the business slogan, and the photo was Steve Jobs who promote this slogan of this image. The picture of the background was simple and elegant. As long as you see this picture, you would associate this picture with Apple's design style——high-end and technical. I think these two images are really successful in seizing the minds of consumers. Young people like products that can bring people a sense of high intelligence. Also, for the Facebook photo, Steve Jobs is definitely the idol of many young people who have an American dream. He is also the soul of Apple Inc.

Same as this video I found about Apple Inc. From Design Shack, there are 15 tips to learn from Apple design.[3] The first one is “Kept it simple”. When you watch this video, there is only grey, white and black, three color, which is really simple on color. This is what young people what. They want to be special and elegant. This simple style definitely can catch their heart. Same as this blog from envatotuts+, as the author says, the reason why Apple has influenced web design is because Apple Design believes that less is more, which makes so many young consumers love Apple Inc. so much. 

Then if you check Apple Inc.'s Youtube page, the first video on that page is their new advertisement for Christmas. 

This video is for Christmas. There were many Christmas elements in this video. The main character looks lonely surrounded by this Christmas atmosphere, which is in line with the situation of many young people today. The main character has a dream and kept working on it. However, she has no courage to share it with others. Through the whole video, we can find Apple products everywhere. When she does some work on Mac computer for her dream when she is waiting for her friends with Mac when she lounges on the bed with Mac in her hand, as a young people with the American dream,  the main character kept using Apple products. At the end of the video, she saw everyone was smiling for her dream——those paper she printed out from Mac. I think most young consumers can resonate with this character. She is like many other young people who have their own dream. Apple Inc. catches this consumers’ minds. 

On Twitter, I found this tweet. This is a Canadian Apple user who wants Apple add Apple Pay in Canda. Through his picture, we can see that to send these $28 dollars, users just need to use their message. Convenience is what young consumers also seeking for. Also, same for this tweet below, it also shows Apple Inc.’s style, which is elegant and high-end, catching consumers’ eyes.

As we can see, as a huge brand, Apple Inc. did a lot on their media pages and soft advertisements online. Using media, they keep their own design style and make consumers deeply believe that. They also make their own design style became a lifestyle for young people. That’s why half of the young people in America is using Apple products.

This weekend I talked about the topic of assignment 4 with my group mate Esme. We choose Tik Tok as our topic. Tik Tok is a famous app, which is very popular in China. In my moments in Wechat, I found a lot of my friends love to share short videos on Tik Tok. I even found there were many Americans were using Tik Tok. Those details arouse me of doing research about Tik Tok. I think it would be interesting to know what’s people’s opinion about this application. 

We will separate our video into two parts. We want to let Chinese and Foreigners watch Tik Tok and express their feelings.

I’m writing his letter to apply for Song Li Lin in M. Butterfly. As a Chinese, I have the required background for this character. I grow in Shanghai, China,  also loving listening Peking Opera, which fit Song’s occupation and racial identity. I also studied aboard in Michigan for 4 years, so I have the basic knowledge of western thoughts. 

I did research about mental health and theatre before, which has the experience of Song’s Queer experience. I understand how Song would work the mental health problems. 

That’s why I think I fit this character.

For spring break, I went to Boston, new york and Philosopher. In Boston, I took that first picture. The statute was a great American man who helps fight in Boston. He stands in a small street in Boston, staring this city. In New York, it was so lucky that I watched Sleep No More. The whole show was full of movement sequence and combat scene. this is an immersive theater based on Mcbath. I put that ghost mask on my face and watch the whole show not as an audience, but part of the show. I felt so good to watch this show. also, i ate a lot of great Chinese food in New York. Those food were from Xi’an. With more, Chinese students study and work in America, i can see the cultural exchange between two countries.

This week, the most exciting thing for me is finishing my show named Thus With a Kiss I Die.i was so excited because this show talked about some sensitive topic in America, which was difficult for an actor to went through this show. My boyfriend made me some spicy chicken wings for me. he was smiling when I went home. he gave me a huge hug and told me there was something he wants to show me. he covered my eyes and led me to the kitchen.  I smelled a great spicy smell and I pulled off his hand and I saw this awesome chicken wings.  I think happiness is very simple. finishing a difficult thing and having some great food is happiness.

This was what happened during our strike in Thus With A Kiss I Die. I think this was really fun. Americans, especially, theatre people can make everything interesting with music. We just finished a 2-hour-show and everyone was tired. We had to strike everything in this show every night because there were a lot of sensitive things in this show. Those actors were very tired but when music came, everything changed. We danced and sang with a tired body. I love this program.

This week is the last week for my show Thus With Kiss I Die opening, which reminds me of the great gatsby, which was another show from BFA acting program. From the last picture, I realize that as an actor, there was a lot of ways to develop our acting skills. our professor was asking as to do a monologue. For making us have a great acting experience, he helped us to create an environment as similar to our monologue. The boy laid on the floor was the actor and his monologue was about fight in his heart. To make him feel the struggle. our professor lets our classmates catch him and put him on the floor. in those pictures, everyone’s facial expression was natural and smooth. This is what actors have after several training of acting.

This week, my mum sent me some pictures of my childhood. I was forced to learn how to play the violin. at that time, I hated music. I was just finished class from the violin. my behavior in that class was bad. My mum heard my bad action in the class. so she just punished me. my uncle came and want to take pictures for me. I was crying and took those pictures. I can found my facial expression was upset. I miss that time when I was a child. I can’t beileve that time flies so fast. I want to back China as soon as I can.

This Sunday, I went to the DIA and the car exhibition. I saw Van Gogh’s self-portrait. I felt so excited. I had never seen such famous artists’ painting before. I noticed that he only showed his one ear. I guess he already lost his other ear when he painted this picture. I also saw his The Digger, which made me felt his control of emotion. The next two pictures are paintings from Picasso. I can distinguish the huge differences between these two artists. The way they painted were totally different, but I can feel their emotion from the painting. The next picture was a pottery figurine. It looked really like my boyfriend, so I took a picture of it. The last picture is the new car on the car exhibition.
