I understand the desire to ship but "we would find each other in every universe...as coworkers" is an insanely funny concept to me I'm sorry.

I support the "fiction isn't real so nothing matters" mindset but tbf at a certain point it can tip over into "the curtains are just blue" territory

the insane experience of missing a fictional character . like you can always go back and reread the book , replay the game , rewatch the show or movie , you can always go back & see them , but you can never experience them & their story for the first time again . its absurd to miss them because they'll always be there , but you'll miss when there were still new things for them to say .
for a small time they were real & growing and changing and you hung onto every new word, but now all they can do is repeat the same story forever&ever & they're not real anymore because you know everything they're going to do. & you miss them. its fucked man...

Honestly part of the problem with this obsession with only consuming unproblematic fiction is that people are less likely to acknowledge when something is harmful. If you so much as say hey this one joke in this one episode was offensive fans will write you an essay on why it wasn’t. Because they’ve created a world view where this is basically accusing them of being a bad person who has committed an unforgivable sin.

recently i started getting back into an oc ship of mine from ages ages ago. basically my biggest shipping obsession before irukiri.
this ship made a fascinating journey from "well these are the only two guys in this story that are not in some or other way paired up so ig they could be a crackship of some sort haha they don't really interact but it's a fun thought experiment" to "holy shit i am actually genuinely obsessed with this and they work so well together that i think i am making them canon" to "they have completely redefined the story and what it is about, giving it proper direction but also stealing the spotlight from the supposed main characters somewhat" to "i'm so obsessed with them i might reuse these characters for this other story for lolz" to "holy SHIT they now literally have cosmic connection through time and space and different universes"
an even more fascinating part is the fact that there is an 8 year long break between the last time i was actively obsessing over them and my renewed interest. that 8 year long break happens between the "i'll add them to the other story for lolz" and "holy shit they have a cosmic connection" phases.
the worst thing is that after getting so used to my irukiri life i have now developed this ghost instinct of "need to scour the ao3 and pixiv and everywhere possible for content of them", but, like. they are my ocs. the only content of them that exists out there are my old shitty drawings. extremely weird feeling
#ocs#rant#i will be making you read my oc rants and you can't do anything about it#there is one thing that never changes and it's the fact that my otp MUST contain a round glasses guy who is an insane sadomaso pervert

Thoughts on latest irumafia
After a year of waiting, it's finally here!
Hm? The different font, and Kirio being relieved that the can communicate - does that mean that Iruma can talk japanese? Or is Kirio talking to him in whatever international language they have in this universe? (english or other).
This is how people feel when Azz bows down to Iruma and tells him he will serve him, isn't it?
Interesting setup here. What will Kirio wish for? Perhaps, for Iruma's friendship? (Or "friendship"...)
this is just adorable
this parallels the frame of Kirio introducing gabuko to Iruma. Love the role switch here.
once again, love the parallels and role reversal here. it also implies that mafia kirio is a lot more competent with gadgets than his original counterpart.
beautiful, wonderful frame. what a sweet and innocent laugh... still, i was hoping that this would be followed by either Iruma going "omg... he laughed! he is enjoying himself after all!" and perhaps paralleling that one Iruma blushing after talking to Kirio frame, or by Iruma simply joining in, and the two of them laughing together. Instead, it's followed by a love trio frame... it's really too bad.
Nishi has for the longest time described Kirio as very honest in a sense, since he has a tendency for laying his true feelings out in the open. I loved to headcanon that really he only ends up being like that around Iruma, or when Iruma is brought up, that it's mainly with Iruma that he lets his true self slip out (no mater how horrifying and deranged that true self is). Kinda nice to have him confirm my delusions like that!
This is a very interesting choice too. In the og, Iruma is the one to explain the concept of a friend to clarazz, but here it's Kirio explaining this concept to Iruma, which is so wonderful.
Once again, this alone moment between the two of them gets somewhat turned into a love trio moment instead, as Iruma stares at clarazz while thinking about the definition of a friend, but it's a much smaller distraction compared to the previous one.
I wonder how this is going to go?
Iruma proclaiming that no, someone like Kirio could never be his friend and is his enemy instead?
Or Iruma proclaiming that Kirio is important to him, that they had fun and shared food, and therefore, despite everything, he still considers him a friend?
The last one would be more in-line with the canon relationship, and the second one could be a reverse of the original, where it's Kirio who proclaims them destined enemies. Perhaps it will be both? "You are my enemy now, but I am looking forward to the day you will become my friend"
Now THIS is insane. The way he is rubbing his neck while looking forward to seeing Iruma again... This guy is so parasocial
All in all it's a really cute chapter and a nice treat after a long wait. I'm a little sad that they don't get to spend time alone, like in the og, and that some of the emotional peaks of this chapter are really more love trio than irukiri. Not a bad or irrational choice, just somewhat disappointing to me personally. I'm also sad that two of my most favoritest frames ever (Kirio and Iruma tinkering with the tools and Iruma blushing after talking to Kirio) are missing from here - though they could show up later, and even if they won't it would be boring if the chapter copied everything from the original.
On the other hand there were other really nice moments that balanced the above out. I am not seeing a lot of people getting as excited as they were when 267 dropped, but... There is still a whole arc to go, and I am certain there will be plenty more strictly iruma-kirio moments to enjoy in the future.
I am curious to find out what this Kirio's deal is and how he and Iruma will clash in this universe.
