'The Body Artistic'  11th June 2014  6-9pm 'Asylum', Peckham SE15 2SQ I am taking part in a group exhibition on 11th June at 'Asylum', a beautiful dilapidated chapel in Peckham that was bombed during WWII. Anatomy Study 1 5.8" x 8.3"  Graphite and Pastel on Toned Paper Drawing from a recent Anatomy Course at Kings College Hospital.

Dissection 2 Oil on Linen 30” x 48” Original and Prints for sale at Saatch Art Having recently studied anatomy at Kings College Hospital and drawing directly from both cadavers and wax models, this series of work was inspired by historical wax sculptures of anatomy, and their somewhat romanticized and classical approach to the subject. Naomi created the pieces with the original exhibition venue in mind, a disused and neglected building at London Bridge, drawing inspiration from the dilapidation and powerful atmosphere of the exhibition venue, and the idea that the body of the building itself was to be taken apart shortly after the show.

Hello, I'm currently organising an exhibition to be held two minutes walk from London Bridge station from the 9th-11th May. The exhibition is located in a dilapidated building that is soon to be knocked down and involves a wide variety of site specific work on the theme of the body. Our touchstone for the project was Paul Valery's essay The Three Body Problem, although we have moved beyond this, now responding to the building as a metaphor for the body, as well as looking at its ambience. They are all labelled with medium and size, but all of those uploaded so far have been done in oil paint, on either canvas or board :)
