In Another Life

Edgeworth retains a perfect record until his career ends prematurely due to a murder conviction. No lawyer takes his case, and a public defender is no match for Manfred von Karma. Our story begins a day after Edgeworth’s conviction, where Phoenix learns about the murder accusation a little too late. And soon enough, he learns he will only have about a year to overturn the verdict and save Edgeworth’s life.

There are two main plot threads in this story:

1) Phoenix’s journey to find a way to get to the truth and overturn Edgeworth’s verdict. He isn’t a lawyer and can’t defend Edgeworth, but it’s a little too late for that anyway. With that in mind, how will Phoenix save Edgeworth?

2) The tragic romance between Phoenix and Edgeworth, which develops over the course of a year. A non-traditional love story with one half of the ship stuck behind prison walls. How does their relationship develop in a setting with limited opportunities for privacy and physical intimacy? How will the milestones of their relationship play out?
