NaruSaku Wiki Relaunched!

Hello fellow NaruSakus! I'm happy to announce the site transfer is complete! The new NaruSaku Wiki is now live!

Majority of the content from the old wiki has been carefully moved over and adjusted to the new format!

As we focus further on forming our own NaruSaku canon, some previous images and pages have been excluded from the move. Moving forward, we would like to avoid mentioning or referencing majority of the information presented from the end of Naruto onward. We would also like to avoid using the anime as a reference and focus on the original Naruto manga and databooks.

In preparation for Shinachiku Kosen, a big joint project created by NaruSaku fans, you may see it referenced on the wiki more often. But never fear, ALL NaruSaku AUs are welcome on the NaruSaku Wiki 🧡💛

If you previously had an account on the NaruSaku Wiki and created a page or two, it's likely your new account has already been created and is waiting for you! You will need to reset your password with either your username or email.

If you need a general idea of how the new wiki works, a page has been created to help you Get Started! Feel free to submit questions to our askbox if you are confused! As questions are answered and confusion is cleared, the Get Started page will be updated to reflect that.

We're still hard at work moving and redesigning the new NaruSaku Wiki! Can't wait to make it public!

Update!

We are in the process of meticulously moving to a new platform for a better experience!

This will take a bit more time as we try to make sure nothing is left behind before the switch, so we ask for a little more patience until the move is complete.

Further Information:

Originally, NaruSaku Wiki was developed with a platform named "Mediawiki". Mediawiki is the software many wikis use. Although it was a great collaboration tool, we ran into a lot of issues with spam and malicious editing.

To protect content better and for a more WSYIWYG ("what you see is what you get") experience for editors, we switched to "Wordpress". Wordpress is a lot more closed off, but allowed us to built out forms and other tools to make creating and filling out page easier.

While Wordpress has been great ease of access, we have run into many issues over the years upgrading the site even though there are not many plugins or fancy features in use. It's too risky.

For this reason, we are transitioning the site back to Mediawiki. Mediawiki and its extensions have many many good changes over the last 10 years, so we hope for a smoother page creation and edition process for editors.

That said, Registration and editing permissions will be manually approved and given at our discretion to avoid spam and malicious editing issues we faced in the past.

An announcement will be made as soon as the migration is complete. Please look forward to it!

We're Migrating!

Hello folks! You may or may not have noticed but the NaruSaku Wiki had a major issue when switching platforms. This has caused us to reconsider the software the wiki is currently using and looking at alternatives.

The site might not work as expected during this time, but all content and accounts will be moved to the new software without intervention.

NARUSAKU WIKI UPDATE

Heyo all!

I just wanted to let you know in the next year or so, NaruSaku Wiki will be getting a significant change of focus.

Before we begin, we want to make one thing clear. The NaruSaku Wiki is meant to be a database for information on ALL NaruSaku Universes. We want it to be a place where you can go and add your own details for each character for YOUR universe so that other people can learn about your work and your vision. This is not changing.

The major change that will be taking place mostly pertains to CANON characters. As of right now, many of their profile pages are mostly empty and exist to create relationships between neo-generation children.

With the purpose of filing out the wiki more and consolidating all our various fanon lores into “one”, I want to the NaruSaku Wiki to follow the future Shinachiku KOSEN lore, which is meant to be a collection of all our NaruSaku lore into a whole story.

This will take time, feedback, and again, more time. We will let you know when the process will begin and how you can contribute.

Don’t forget to participate in Shinachiku Kosen polls and discussions, it’s meant to be a story composed for all of us after all!

It looks like we’ll be ready to push out the new updates this weekend! We noticed that some people have signed up and created new pages in between our updates. We’re going to do our best to make sure the new stuff doesn’t get lost in the process, but right now I’d suggest not editing or updating anything else until the updates are complete.

NaruSaku Wiki Updates: Making Progress!

We wanted to write about the progress being made on the wiki overall. There is still a lot to do, especially regarding translations, but things are coming along well.

Today, I wanted to talk about a new organization features coming to the wiki

Fanon Section

In the upcoming update, users will be able to add details about their fanon version of each character.

The example pictured above is on Naruto’s character page. One of the sections is titled “General”. These are common traits our version of Naruto has that is different from his canon counterpart.

Below that is “Road to Ninja”. There is a brief description of what he (Menma) is like in the alternate universe. In addition to that, if selected, you can link your fanon description to one of the Universe pages on the wiki. Of course, you can also add your own universe, as always.

Adding these fanon descriptions is very easy and painless. You simply press “Add more” an a new unnamed section will appear for you to fill in whatever information you please.

Translations

One of the biggest changes to the website is moving to a different language translation plugin. While the old one served us well, we ran into too many issues. The new one is not especially different or new, but offers a lot more organization options.

Based on the current make up of the NaruSaku fandom, these are the languages we feel covers almost all our bases. But what do you think, do you think another language should be added? If so, which ones?

IMPORTANT NOTE: The admin of the wiki, the one making all these updates unfortunately only speaks one language. English. There’s only so much that can be done, but they’re doing the best they can. When the updates are finally live and registration is open, do let us know if you want to help fix any weird translations you see, there will definitely be a lot of them!

More Details

We have added more details to the wiki such as abilities, tools, height, and chakra nature. We can’t expect this wiki will be completely comprehensive like the Naruto wiki, but filling out some details for NaruSaku artist and writers can be very beneficial

Overall Design

The design of the wiki has been changed to be even more streamlined and readable. Sections are now more clearly defined with only 1 main sidebar.

We’re going through a redesign and reformatting of the NaruSaku wiki! The new wiki is not only organized better and easier to navigate, but we hope to finally fill in some holes about all your favorite NaruSaku kids, Naruto, Sakura, and other Naruto characters!

We’re looking to get some summary snippits for all the canon Naruto characters. It does not have to be very long, just a short blurb no more than a few hundred words.

We’re also interested in hearing what you think happened to each of these characters and who you believe they got into a relationship with post-canon!

NaruSaku Wiki Updates!

Hello all! I am here to inform you that very soon, the NaruSaku wiki will be getting a visual and functional update!

This is necessary as we move to different and easier to manage plugins and display options for every character, OC, and child added to the wiki.

Updates include:

Site visual update

New character fields such as abilities, jutsu, and tools

We will update you as soon as the changes are complete! Until then, the existing NaruSaku wiki is still viewable on all devices.
