I will never get over how weird it feels to have tragic and emotional chapters of your life where you just also still go to work, and the grocery store, and see funny videos online all while feeling such paralyzing fear and heartache
life just goes on no matter what
#this time of year i esp remember going to the local grocery store#in the small town where my dad had lived for a few years before he passed#and buying groceries for my stay as if nothing hurt#and having to come back and go to work#and act as normal as possible#still not an easy thing to do#but we do it

#so my mom tolerates hugs and doesnt like cuddles much#my siblings dont like either one#my first really close friend (in the not-a-cult) liked hugs and tolerated cuddles#(in that “ill let you lean on me but im not participating)#the people i knew at the casino all basically fell in the same boat#(paprika youre my “share space dont need touch” person like i can relax without it which im realizing as i write this is special to you#miss it kinda for all that i have lots cuddles now)#anyway the point is that for basically my whole life ive had people who woukd gladly hug me#and even let the hugs last a bit#but then they would be done#and if i wanted cuddles it really was just me leaning against an unmoving arm#which is why 4 months after being close to my darling im still constantly surprised#because he INITIATES#he RECIPROCATES#he ENJOYS#and its just... so precious to me
