WHUMPTOBER 2025: PROMPTS LIST

Welcome to Whumptober 2025 — The Eighth Year!

WHUMPTOBER is a month-long, prompt-based creation CHALLENGE (think: Inktober, but whumpier). There are four prompts for each day of the month, giving 124 for you to play with! There is also a list of 18 alternative prompts that can be subbed in for any day to give participants as much creative freedom as possible.

All prompts are meant to serve as inspiration without being taken literally (e.g. you don’t have to include the exact wording of prompts into your work). Feel free to run rampant on interpretation. For example, if the prompt is “flame", you could create something with reference to a candle/campfire, your character could have suffered a burn, or the flame could be a reference to an ‘old flame’ - an old relationship. It’s truly down to you!

You can produce work in any media you choose, including but not limited to: writing, visual artwork, photo/video/audio edits, paper crafts and elaborate recommendation lists (not just a list of links). You can participate as much or as little as you want (i.e. you don’t have to do ALL the prompts if you don’t want to) and prompts can be used in any order. They are also free to use even after the event ends.

Please make sure to read the Event Info and FAQ carefully, as most of your questions will be answered there already. For everything else, you are welcome to come to our ask box or ask questions in our Discord server here.

Seven Sentence Sunday

I still haven't really gotten back into writing but I'm starting to try again so I'm posting another drabble that'll probably never get posted to ao3

Loki swept back into the bedroom in his bathrobe, freshly showered, drying his hair with a towel. It was early still and the sun streamed lazily into the room casting everything in a soft yellow light. Loki had woken with the sun and could no longer sit still, so, not wanting to wake Mobius, had gone to wash off the previous night's activities. The sight that greeted him on his return made him pause. Mobius was still in bed, sprawled out haphazardly, the sheets tangled around his legs. The light filtered in over him, kissing his skin and making him practically glow. His face was buried in the pile of pillows that Loki had insisted they needed despite Mobius' protests that it was "too many". The muscles in his back expanded with each breath - a soft snore and huff that had become synonyous with peace in Loki's mind. Sunkissed. A sprinkling of scars telling the stories of a myriad of missions were visible among the freckles and newer marks Loki had left the night before. Loki's mouth went dry. He was sure he'd never seen anything more beautiful before in his life. His spot in the bed beside Mobius beckoned to him like home so he dropped his towel and climbed back into bed. He slid back into his spot next to Mobius wrapping his arms around the man. Mobius' hair stuck up where Loki had run his hands through it multiple times, giving him an unruly look. Loki couldn't help himself as his hand reached up to touch those locks once more. One of Mobius' eyes squinted open before a smile grew on Mobius' lips. He sucked in a deep breath and gave a full body stretch. "Good morning," Mobius murmured, and Loki decided right then that it was.

Cheering with excitement, the kids picked out their treats, then thanked him before running off to the next house. From behind, Mobius felt a pair of strong arms wrap around his middle and pull him backwards against a very familiar lean torso. "You've said the same thing to every trick-or-treater so far." The accusation was purred right into his ear, Loki's voice low and full of expectation. He wanted something for sure, and Mobius was pretty sure he knew what. His grin warmed as he melted backwards into Loki's arms. "What can I say? I can't help myself from supporting their energy."

i was inspired by a drawing that @natendo-art posted on patreon and i decided that I NEEDED to write loki being an absolute menace winding mobius up.

this is your suggestive warning!!!

Loki’s fingers danced over Mobius’ shoulders as they strolled back to their table, his hips swaying enticingly with each step. With a playful skip, he quickened his pace to reach the table first, carefully balancing his pie in his hand. As he lowered himself into his seat, it wasn’t just the sweet treats that drew Mobius in. No, it was the smouldering depths of Loki’s dark emerald eyes that captured him completely. With an intoxicating elegance, Loki lifted his spork to his lips and let out a vulgar moan as he slowly licked the cream off, savouring it as if it were a fine delicacy rather than a dessert he loathed. Each flick of his tongue sent shivers racing down Mobius’ spine, and he found himself pathetically captivated by the deliberate way Loki’s tongue lingered against the spork way longer than necessary. Mobius clenched his jaw and turned his attention to his pie, taking the time to ensure that he got a good spoonful of crust, filling, and cream. As he bit into the dessert, he made the mistake of locking eyes with Loki, who was casually wiping a smear of cream from his lips. With a teasing flick of his tongue, Loki slid his finger into his mouth and drew it back out with a loud, suggestive "pop," all while maintaining eye contact.
