There was ever only you.
this is a public declaration of me missing you. being 17 and in love is something just so fun. parts of this is so i have something to hold on to when you’re gone. and that i don’t forget the precious beginnings of us.
when we were hooking up in my parent’s basement after watching we’re the millers - me straddling you, the both of us covered in blankets and trying not to get caught. you pulled away for a brief moment, only to catch my eye and whisper in a hoarse voice to me, “you’re amazing”. i had never heard you sound so sincere. besides telling me you liked me, that was the first time i heard firsthand what you thought of me and i was taken aback, filled with butterflies. we continued hooking up and you wrapped your arms around my waist and hugged me tightly because we both knew it could be the last time we saw one another for the next 3 weeks. you ran your hands through my hair and all over my chest, shoulders, neck, playing with my necklace. i stayed straddling you and neither of us made any effort to move even though you were already 1h30 min late. we were going to take a trip to return library books, but you told me you didn’t want to (so we could cuddle and hook up) and that you would pay the overdue fine for my returns. it’s all in the little things.
we swam in your best friend’s indoor pool, gossip girl school break-in style after getting burger’s priest and returning to the house we decided to watch inception in the home theatre. your best friend made a love seat for us by removing the barrier, and so it began. 3 hours of snuggling, whispers, cuddles - me enveloped in your warmth. your legs were wrapped around mine and me hugging your body while you held me. your hands and fingers would trace gentle circles on my arms and shoulders. i’d never felt so loved and adored. you ran your fingers through my hair as well for a large portion of time and i loved it, even though it was still wet from the pool. we were savouring every last moment before you left. i dozed off briefly in that position since we stayed up the night before talking until 3 am and i’ve never slept better. the lights came on when the movie was over and you asked to turn them off so i could re-envelope you into an embrace and we could continue cuddling for those last moments. when we hand to leave i propped up my legs and you still put your hands on my thighs.
you kissed me outside the car and your house and hugged me real tight for the last goodbye. but you would be returning soon. either way, i missed you already in those moments.
it’s not 11:11 but you’d be a fool not to correctly guess what i’m wishing for right now.
