Eve Titus (1922-2002) was born 103 years ago.
I drew Anatole, his family, and his friend Gaston to pay tribute to Eve Titus, the author of Anatole and Basil of Baker Street.
Personally, I'm not familiar with Anatole, even though its animated series adaptation, produced by Nelvana, premiered the year I was born.
So, I discovered the world of Eve Titus with The Great Mouse Detective, the animated film adaptation of Basil of Baker Street by Disney Studios, released 12 years before the Anatole series.
I hope you love it, becaucse i worked on it a lot.

I did this art to celebrate the 39th Anniversary of The Great Mouse Detective, the 26th Disney animated feature film and the first film directed by John Musker and Ron Clements, the directors of The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, The Princess and the Frog, and Moana.
It's an underrated Disney animated film that's less well-known than The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, The Lion King, and Frozen in terms of popularity. Yet, it marks the return of Walt Disney Animation Studios to success after the commercial failure of The Black Cauldron.
In addition to being the first animated film inspired by the world of Sherlock Holmes, it was the only animated film to be nominated for the Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best Picture.
Without The Great Mouse Detective, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King, and Pocahontas would never have existed.

The opening sequence of The Great Mouse Detective takes place on June 19, 1897. Hence Susanne Pollatschek's age at the time of production of The Great Mouse Detective in 1985 under the title production "Basil of Baker Street", I figured Olivia was born the same year as Charlie Chaplin.
That's why I drew a picture of Olivia celebrating her birthday.

I made this new drawing of Lulu from The Little Witches, the animated series by Jean-Yves Raimbaud, creator of Oggy and the Cockroaches and Space Goofs.
The Little Witches is a lesser-known animated series compared to Oggy and Space Goofs, which enjoys international popularity, but I think it has potential for a new generation of viewers.
The 28th anniversary of The Little Witches, which first aired on September 3, 1997, on TF1 in TF! Jeunesse, is coming up in 85 days.

In honor of the 39th anniversary of The Great Mouse Detective and for my friend Bluthian90, i draw Olivia Flaversham, the first heroine of John Musker and Ron Clements' universe. 🙂
Olivia Flaversham is an atypical heroine of Disney animated features, since her characteristics have nothing to do with the Disney heroines with her youth and her animal side.
When I compare Olivia and Alice from Alice in Wonderland, they have the same british nationality and the same color palette. A sort of hybrid character between Alice and a mouse.
I've seen all of John Musker and Ron Clements' films, including The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Hercules, Treasure Planet, The Princess and the Frog, and Moana, and it's clear that Olivia is the only all-animal heroine from the Disney directors duo.
Additionally, Susanne Pollatschek (born in 1977), the voice of Olivia Flaversham, was one of the youngest Disney performers. Her vocal performance at the age of 8 in The Great Mouse Detective made her the youngest Disney performer after Donnie Dunagan in Bambi in 1942 and the second youngest actress of John Musker and Ron Clements film after Auliʻi Cravalho (born in 2000) in Moana in 2016.
For me, the universe of John Musker and Ron Clements didn't begin with a mermaid, but with a mouse. 🐭
I hope you love it ! 😉

Here's my new drawing of Fievel and Olivia together, this time with the art style more accurate from The Great Mouse Detective and An American Tail.
To achieve this result, I drew on John Pomeroy's animation work on Fievel in An American Tail and Mark Henn's animation work on Olivia in The Great Mouse Detective, including the opening sequence and the final scene where Olivia says goodbye to Basil and Dawson.

My new Olivia drawing, which you've been waiting for for maybe ten days.
I hope you love it !
I love Olivia so much in her coat.
She's so cute in her coat with the two buttons and her red striped scarf that I dream of seeing her as a character to meet and greet in Disneyland for the 40th anniversary of The Great Mouse Detective.
I'm guessing you share my dream of seeing the characters from The Great Mouse Detective in Disney Parks (Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Disneyland Paris). If so, please feel free to share on social media.

Rare Characters at Disneyland for 70th Anniversary
Disneyland's 70th anniversary is coming in 70 days !
For this anniversary, you may be dreaming of meeting the rarest characters.
We hope that the rarest characters and those absent from Disney parks will be present at Disneyland for the park's 70th anniversary in California.
Here is the list of characters meet-and-greet who deserve their place at Disneyland on July 17, 2025 :
Dumbo (Dumbo)
Robin Hood, Little John, Friar Tuck, Maid Marian and Prince John (Robin Hood)
Bernard and Miss Bianca (The Rescuers)
Tod and Cooper (The Fox and The Hound)
Basil of Baker Street plus Dr. Dawson and Olivia Flaversham (The Great Mouse Detective)
Oliver, Dodger, Tito, Einstein, Francis, Rita and Georgette (Oliver and Company)
You can start a petition on Change.org to make this event more magical.
Here are the examples of the Disney characters who are now rare and have disappeared from Disney parks :
Let's start with Dumbo. Dumbo is one of the first Disney characters to be met at Disneyland when it opened in 1955.
He was mainly present in Disney parks until 1996 before disappearing from Disney parks, even though his appearances are extremely rare. Robin Hood characters are the rarest characters meet and greet in Disney parks. While Robin Hood, Little John, and Prince John make rare appearances in the parks, Maid Marian, who appeared in Disney Parks three times, has disappeared.
The other rarest characters in Disney parks are those from The Rescuers. Bernard and Bianca were mainly present at Disneyland, Walt Disney World and Disneyland Paris from 1977 to 2000 and today, they are only found at Tokyo Disneyland.
Orville, Evinrude, Madame Medusa, Nero, and Brutus were also present at Disneyland to promote The Rescuers, but they have now disappeared from the park. And finally, Basil of Baker Street and Professor Ratigan from The Great Mouse Detective.
While The Great Mouse Detective is a film filled with a wide cast of characters, Basil and Ratigan are the only two characters from the movie present at Disneyland and appeared in the music video for the song "Basil," performed by Douchka, Disney's ambassador in France from 1984 to 1989.
In 2004, these two characters disappeared from the Disney parks, including Ratigan, because he frightened young guests.
Today, we'd like to meet Basil again, this time accompanied by Dr. Dawson and Olivia Flaversham (with her coat with a brighter blue color than in the film, especially in the restored version of 2012 as was the case for Snow White for merchandising products), who were absent from the Disney parks for financial reasons at the time of the release of the film in 1986, which compensating for the commercial failure of The Black Cauldron, released the previous year.
Feel free to share my wish to rediscover the rarest characters in Disney Parks and those absent from Disney Parks who, I believe, will make their first appearances as meetable characters.
