Potentially hot take but one of the reasons we need art and music in schools is that, taught correctly, they are ideal avenues for teaching kids how to do something, kinda suck at it, keep going anyways and improve over time.

And THAT is one of the most valuable skill sets a human being can have. THAT is the skill set that unlocks soooooo many others.

A LOT of people I see with anxiety and depression do not have this skill set. To suck at something is a threat. Proof that they are doomed to suck at it forever. And then, often, that either THEY suck forever or the task must be stupid/useless/pointless (whence we get AI art fans who have decided actually making art is pointless and degrading the labor and skills of others is fine because these are useless skills).

Or you get the freeze- the inability to try things in case you fail. The sudden lancing shame and humiliation or hopelessness. The sense that anything you haven't learned by now you can't learn. Which is so heartbreaking and so untrue.

I just hate it.

"What if I write it and it's bad" "what if I draw it and it's bad" "what if I play it and it sounds bad" DOING IT BAD IS HOW YOU LEARN TO DO IT GOOD! You can't skip the process of leaning and the process is FUN if you let it be what it needs to be!

People talk a lot about the sun and the moon in ships but I think Natoru and I are the sun and the star.

Natoru is bright, open, present, consistent. She's always there, and always shining regardless of what's going on around her. That's a sun character for sure.

Meanwhile, I think I'm also more like a sun than a moon in many ways, yet more distant and less obvious than a typically sunny character. I'm always there, but when it's too bright or there are too many clouds in the way I don't make myself known.

So I think if we do fall into that dynamic, we're more sun-star than sun-moon. Idk though, it's an abstract picture lol

Being an anti-ai selfshipper puts me in a weird spot.

I'll see people treating the concept of AI partners as a bad thing, and I'm like, "Yes, great, exactly!"

And then they go on to say "...Because the concept of dating something fictional is stupid and unhealthy."

Nat is a cheerful, easygoing cat from the magical Cat Kingdom, and works as a loyal servant to the Cat King. Her most notable trait is just sort of going along with whatever, happy to follow her boss's orders to effectively kidnap the protag but just as happy to hand over the remote that is immediately used to destroy one of the Cat Kingdom's oldest buildings in an explosion. Basically, Natoru exists purely to further the bit, and he doesn't really care what's going on specifically, he's just always happy to be involved!
