winter vacation challenge (the target is me and me only) (i have so much to do)
small deal tasks: 1 point each
go for a walk of some kind daily (if no other exercise)
do some quick language lessons
organise some of my space (declutter etc)
some hygiene / aesthetic task that doesn’t have to be done daily
reading (any kind of book)
some brief revision i.e. flashcards or a couple of questions
medium deal tasks: 5 points each
an hour of study/revision (chem)
a longer language lesson / practice
more intense tidying / organising
some time on CV etc or research for after my degree
big deal tasks: 10 points each
go for a run / workout
past paper or longer set of questions
some type of appointment or stressful thing idk
watch a film or something in a language i’m learning
i realise a lot of this is vague but i can’t really pinpoint effort levels rn. small tasks definitely take < 30 minutes unless i decide to wander around for ages on a walk instead. medium ones shouldn’t take more than 1 - 1.5 hours and big tasks are variable time-wise. i think i’m just gonna track what points i get each day. social time will also limit what i do when the actual holidays get here

as good a day as any. i shall Attempt to start a 30 day productivity streak because in approximately 6 weeks i start fourth year.
the goals:
obtain a better sleep schedule (evening wind-down by 11pm, wake up by 7:30 if working or 9:30 if not. and actually get up at that time).
prepare for uni: by finishing the textbook i’m reading and starting (i’m unlikely to finish) the other one i want to read (they are large). this is a self-imposed task. i expect i can finish the first one in the first week of september if i keep at it. i’ll also do reading around my research project once i hear back from the prof.
languages: keep my korean lesson streak. reach the end of section 3, unit 28 on the duolingo course (it’s not the best but it gives me consistency and some vocab). at least twice a week do a specific session on grammar or hanja/vocab. // also, finish section 1 of the greek course (i do greek just for variety).
life admin: draft and then write up a new CV. start to make plans for driving lessons. check options after fourth year. sort through what i pack to take to uni so i can reduce it. (weekend tasks methinks)
health/general: drink water immediately on getting up (i used to do this and then lost the habit :/). consistent aftercare for my new piercing. daily walk or run. keep in touch with friends.
bonus: include a photo of something nice/interesting/pretty every day
end
it’s gonna start tomorrow but today i read a chapter of the textbook, did many duolingo lessons in multiple languages, met up with a friend, and cleaned the piercing twice as recommended.

summer (month 1 of 3)
honestly i’ve been doing almost nothing but enjoying the time off.
reading a couple of textbooks in preparation for next year. currently ≈ 1/4 of the way through the first one
catching up on tv shows i want to watch & new music
a couple of holidays & trips with friends & family
i’ve successfully tricked myself into enjoying going on little walks so i just need to do that more regularly
towards the end of the vacation i might try another productivity challenge or something to help with consistency
that’s about it really

hell yeah i’m staying at uni for another year (masters). to be honest my results were mixed (but still good enough!) i am cursed with perfectionism and self-critical tendencies and also in this instance, Getting My Hopes Up Too High. so results day was eh
i definitely want to work hard on language learning and reading around chemistry before i start fourth year. and see my friends and be dedicated to my own wellbeing. i will also need to work out what the hell i’m gonna do after next year, which is unfabulous

born to “we’re so back” forced to “it’s so over” (is this funnier the other way round?)
when you’ve had a bad few days, the solution is a little treat (cookies)
not entirely sure what’s gone wrong i think it’s just several smaller-medium things adding up
anyway today i was in the lab, i have done some organic chem work, that’s about it but im tired
