[Since it seemed like she was looking better, Natsu decided to respond Lucy’s joke with a remark of his own.]

Hooh~ You’ll have to try really hard to achieve that!

Happy: Don’t worry Lucy, I’ll help you! 

[Whether Happy had been included in that promise of Lucy’s or not, he made it so that they would both join forces to make Natsu be the one ending up “gross” instead. Of course, Happy had other ideas to help achieve this.]

[Natsu briefly looked at Happy and Happy looked back as if he was judging Natsu.]

What? Why are you looking at me like that?

[Happy sighed and shook his head in response.]

“Natsu…” He said, words slow. 

“Do you not remember me?”

Standing with her fingers laced together in her lap, she turned to smile as Natsu’s voice rung out down the street. His scent became more apparent as he approached, and for a brief moment she wondered just how it felt to not have senses as strong as she did as a Dragon Slayer. She’d learned her magic when she was only five years old, so she could hardly recall. Not to mention her senses had grown a great deal sharper over the year she spent with Lamia Scale.

“Natsu-san!” Elated, the girl called out her friend’s name once he was within what most humans would consider an earshot. He was on time, which she somehow found surprising. Not to say Natsu wasn’t reliable, he was likely the most reliable person in the world to her. But like all people, he wasn’t perfect. She didn’t really perceive him as someone adept at meeting deadlines.

“I only just got here myself!” A lie, but she didn’t want him feeling bad. In comparison to her two Fairy Tail, Dragon Slayer peers, she was likely the most responsible despite being the youngest. “So what did you want to do today? It’s almost lunch time, so we could get food, or…?”

[Seeing Wendy’s smile was enough to make Natsu feel at ease to know that she was doing alright even when they had been living in separate places and thanks to the odd jobs in this city’s branch, they had barely been able to meet much lately so this put any worries he had at ease.]

Oh, is that so? Then I’m glad I made it in time.

[For Natsu, it was a rare occurrence to reach a meeting place at the appointed time but when it came to some people, he made sure to put some extra effort, specially since he rarely ever got out with Wendy of all people.]

Yeah, let’s go eat something first and then we can decide where to go from there! I know there’s a pretty popular place around here that I haven’t tried out yet.

☂ { even if juvia did, that would be her business! it is juvia’s body, after all! maybe if she happened to be that bold, gray-sama would actually notice how much of a woman juvia has grown into. but no, juvia is not that desperate. she does, however, tend to lose control of the form of her clothing when she takes on her water body. juvia can only turn her own flesh into water, after all. }

While it’s true you can do whatever you want with your body, would you really not mind any random person to stare at your naked body? Gray’s a lost cause in that regard but you should only imitate his good points, not that.

[Natsu turned around along with Happy and instead of greeting back, he replied:]

Who are you?

[Asked with a confused tone.]

A hand raised up after he saw his old friend. Quickly running down the street to greet the Salamander. 

“Natsu! Happy! It’s been to long dudes!”

[Natsu simply kept his hand on Lucy’s head as if to let her know he wasn’t moving from the spot so that she could cry the sorrow away until she was satisfied and then be able to smile once again.]

[Also having memories of the year away and the memories from this place was a bit weird, but he could understand why she was so shaken and simply awaited for her to calm down.]

Happy: I’m also here for you, Lucy!

[And it was to be expected but the blue exceed tried to cheer up their friend, making his presence known in case she hadn’t realized yet.]

Gildarts can’t help it and laughs a little. The damage caused doesn’t affect him a whole lot. That’s something he can take care of later. The mage knows very well that Natsu meant no harm there. Sometimes, things just go a little out of hand in a amicable competition.

“It’s good to see that you’re doing so well, Natsu.” Gildarts gets back on his feets and proceeds to ignore the weird mix of shocked stammering and angry hissing from the guy behind him. It’s something about ‘saving my ass’ and ‘destroying my ice cream stall’.

“And you’re still reckless as well. What did I tell you a thousand times before about how to greet properly? At least, say hello first before you attack someone!”

[Even though there was a guy angrily arguing with no one in the background, Natsu ignored him completely and smiled brightly at Gildarts instead.]

It’s good to see you alive and kicking as well!

[Gildarts was probably next to the only parental figure on Natsu’s aside from his late foster father and so, it was always a pleasure to meet him, specially because he could always fight with him to his heart’s content, at least when he was at full power.]

Ehhh?... But it’s boring to greet people properly. Plus it’s not like you can’t take a beating!

[Natsu greeted everyone with enthusiasm but he only greeted strong people with his fists and Gildarts was one of the strongest ones he knew so there was no use pulling his punches for him.]

[As Natsu was walking through the city, thinking of where to go eat next, he spotted a very familiar scent and couldn’t help but start seeking out where it came from so he started dashing to the source of the scent. Surely enough, he got sight of who the scent was from and as soon as he was about to yell for her to see him, he realized she wasn’t doing well so he stopped running and then walked towards her. Once he was close enough, he heard her saying something that made Natsu’s smile to fade momentarily because he hated seeing her depressed. Instead, he approached her and patted her head smiling once again.]

I am right here. You are not alone.

[He knew how the scientist’s messed up with them so he knew she wouldn’t remember being here before but he had seen her already a few times here and everytime she didn’t remember this fact so he had decided to just make sure to help her settle down first before they decided anything else.]

It had barely been a day since she arrived in Hive City, but already Lucy was putting her feet to the pavement in her quest to find people she knew.  She’d done it before, leading up to everyone coming together again one year after they split, and she felt like she could do it again.  They were her friends, she was their friend, and she wasn’t going to give up.  Someone in Hive City had to have answers, or at least maybe she’d come across something that could give her hope.

Still, as she continued to explore and venture through the City and it’s Districts she was beginning to think she was getting overzealous right out of the gate.  What good would all of this do if she burned herself out at the very beginning?  She should pace herself, take her time, but Lucy was feeling the sting.  Everyone had just gotten back together, she was finally back with all her friends.

Trying not to cry and failing rather miserably at it, Lucy stopped in the middle of the sidewalk and raised a hand to the side of her face.  “Gray, Erza…Natsu.  Where are you?  I don’t want to be alone again.”

[Natsu enjoyed spending time with friends a lot but in this city, sometimes it was hard to accomplish even that so once he got the chance to relax and just hang out with one of his close friends, he made sure not to forget the appointment and be there on time and made sure to dress a little more, wearing pants and a closed shirt but as it was usual, still wearing the symbolic scarf of his over it.

By the time he made it to the meeting spot, he realized Wendy was already there because he could feel her scent as soon as he reached the area. It didn’t take long to spot her among the crowd and waved at her as soon as she came into his visual field.]

Yo, Wendy!

[As Natsu shortened the distance between them, it also became clear soon enough that Natsu was coming alone as well since Happy was nowhere in sight.]

You were here earlier than me, I hope you didn’t wait for long?

Wendy was excited. Seeing her get ready, one might have thought she was getting ready for some sort of date. This wasn’t the case, however. Close as she was with Ayato, he wasn’t the sort of person that she could meet and go out with in broad daylight. Though the person she was meeting was just as important to her. While not related by blood, she truly loved Natsu like a brother so of course she’d be just as excited.

Prettied up in a frilly white dress, she waited at a light post near the meeting spot. Carla was taking care of the animal shelter in her stead so she couldn’t attend, despite Wendy assuming Happy would be coming.

For now, all she could do was wait. She knew he’d be arriving soon, since the nose of a Dragon Slayer was uncanny. His scent had caught on the breeze, so of course he was in the area.

A swift punch to his head would suffice for now to calm her slight unsettlement at what happened. Though her temper was quick to leave her while starting to watch him swim around her. An eyebrow raised up a little bit, as she had no protest against just, she didn’t really see too much fun in swimming around one could say. Though relaxing in the water such as floating on her back she did not mind of course. The lioness though did want to have fun with her friend so she would still participate.

Lowering her head a little bit to the water and blowing out bubbles into the water she closed her eyes for a moment. Opening one up she raised up her head a little bit and slightly smiled. â€œ Well swimming isn’t too bad. â€œ

Her body would then turn around to where she would be floating on her back and she would smile contently. â€œ At least they didn’t make the water hot, that would certainly be bothersome. â€œ She spoke knowing full well these scientists could have done anything to make this less pleasurable than it is. Seeing how they were the last people you would ever want to put faith or trust into.

Switching over to her stomach, Leo just moved herself a little forward closer to Natsu. When she got closer she then proceeded to make a giant huge splash at him. Was she still feeling a little bitter about being forced into the water? Maybe slightly. Was she hoping salt water got into his eyes? Maybe about 5%.

“ Your guard is heavily down right now from wanting to just play. â€œ

[Natsu disregarded Leo’s complaint and just continued to swim around her until she seemed to be getting in the mood to swim herself. He stopped for a second while smiling and as he was motionless, a surprise attack got him. Natsu blinked his eyes for a few seconds as if clearing the salt water from them and then smirked.]

Oh, so that’s how it’s gonna be! Two can play that game!

[And with just that, he also started splashing wildly in front of Leo to make sure she would get showered in this â€œsea” water. He made sure however, not to use his powers or those splashes would end up in huge waves that would get others caught up in them and it would earn him a scolding and it was too soon to get one.]

Come on, come on! Who’s got their guard down now!

☂ { juvia has only ever gotten into the habit of removing her coat, natsu-san. is that really such a travesty? a wet coat can be quite hard to work with, it is why juvia picked up the habit. }

Oh, as long as you don’t go completely naked like Gray without even noticing then it’s fine but be careful not to catch that habit of his completely, alright?

[Natsu couldn’t help but smirk even wider at Leo’s words since it was clear that she got the bigger picture quite easily.]

I don’t really care as long as we get paid enough to buy our food and a few other things but a little exercise every now and then is really needed!

Happy: Aye! Natsu won’t calm down unless he gets to beat down some bad guys once in a while!

[Happy always had fun no matter what since he was either looking at Natsu do ridiculous odd jobs or if there were fights to be joined, he’d even fight as well against small fries as he could at the very least defeat those.

Once Leo asked if they were ready, both of them nodded and started walking in high spirits.]
