I truly think a better use of Mashiro would be having him in the background with human sized Goode and theyʻre just always doing some weird stuff "to teach Goode the good and bad/joys and sorrows of life" or whatever. Like the battle starts and midway they show up with snorkels on and a live seal in hands (likely represented by a prop). And the Gozyugers are like "dude wtf" and Mashiro just responds with his god complex intro and "Donʻt you know that learning how to hunt for seals is a vital life experience?"

Like either playing up the parallelism with Hoeru where theyʻre both feral but Mashiro just seems more well adjusted, but theyʻre truly two sides of the same coin.

Or just make him completely rich and absolutely, incomprehensibly unrelatable like real rich people. Just like, make him be into beluga caviar and he modified his bathroom to be the Doom Bathroom kind of extravagant, unethical things so we can see why the world heʻd create with his TegaSword wish was "flawed" and so money reliant "a.k.a. still has capitalism which we see Hoeru suffering under every day" but he doesnʻt have enough self-reflection to realize heʻs part of the problem.

Regardless of how they do it, ultimately I just want them to address the whole reason Goode is with Mashiro. Which is Mashiro making that promise to him, and seeing him making good on that promise. Show, donʻt tell and then completely drop the premise. Goode is willing to fight so hard for Mashiro but besides that one moment, we donʻt really see their relationship beyond Mashiro continuing to call on Goode when itʻs convenient for him, and Goode being the biggest Mashiro apologist of all time who is acting childishly because he was literally born about a month ago.

Also separate but still Mashiro related. Currently, I see fans treating Mashiro like heʻs part of the team. But is that because heʻs actually acting like a team member or is it just because heʻs arbitrarily placed near the team when itʻs convenient?

I donʻt know, but I just feel like itʻs mainly because heʻs arbitrarily placed. He acts like heʻs better than all of them and he tries to lord over them; but if the scene needs it heʻll just go along with what the Gozyugers are up to or what the No-One of the week is demanding.

His actions and attitude is contradictory to me. One scene he seems like he wants to lead the "second gen" Gozyugers, but the next he gets into his god complex and acts like he's the only Ring Warrior ever; and when he does that he acts like he wants to prove heʻs better than them. Or he'll just have some heart to heart moment with someone and suddenly start lore dumping about the previous world or what happened to him. His motivations are too flip floppy from scene to scene.

I get the sense they might clumsily be trying to have Mashiro win the current Gozyugers over the way he likely won his team over but itʻs not working. I think they can lean into this more and have him be jealous like "why does your team work with you" at Hoeru, and Hoeruʻs like "I owe them all money." Which from his perspective is true but all the Gozyugers secretly (or very outwardly in Kin-chanʻs case) care for him a lot. And Mashiro seems to look down his nose at them because theyʻre this scrappy team. But theyʻre a cohesive team that works well together in battle because they do all care for each other in one way or another. Theyʻre still with Hoeru "for the money" but also because they really like him which I think they should lean into that hard. Maybe Mashiro didnʻt really have that, or if he did, it was superficial. Maybe they can even show this with an episode where he steals the rest of the teamʻs rings and freezes them to have the blue bands, and gives them to randos heʻs convinced to worship him but the teamʻs bonds with Hoeru break the ice on the bands and let the rings return to them.

Idk just lean into making him an antagonistic sixth that has a redemption arc, because having him as a cooperative sixth definitely isn't working and probably can't work with his character currently as it is.
