Text
nobody told you that divinity is lonely.
as the gods scooped you from your grave, breathed new life into your limbs.
new power bestowed runs like fire through your veins.
the air crackles with energy, fingers curl and atoms bend to your will.
creatures bow in your shadow, bend over backward to please you.
high on your pedestal, the whole world beneath you.
gods give and gods take, but they don't cross the threshold.
maybe the companionship in mortality is what tempts you ever closer.
