“not really,” miles scrunched up his nose at the thought of his old home. “we go for tour and stuff but other than that i don’t visit. don’t have any reason to.” his parents hadn’t spoke to him since he left, and his brother had moved away and lost contact. there was quite literally nothing left for him in london. “i’m not really close with anyone from back then.” he explained further.
“oh i get that.” kyle nods, completely understanding. he didn’t have anything back home either, but something about him wanted to go back instead of avoid it. he supposed there was always two options, and they each chose one. “ooh wait is this the arcade?” he asks, getting excited as they begin to approach the building.

tarzan nodded – he knew the feeling all too well. it hadn’t been that long ago that he had woke up here, in motel with no recollection of his life before. it was scary and confusing, but if he managed to figure it out, anyone can. “you’re definitely not the only one. trust me, the town is full of other people who woke up feeling the same way.”
she sighs softly in defeat. “at least we’re not alone.” she shrugs. it was terrifying, sure, but she’s not alone. surely someone would figure it out soon. “no update on how to get... back to normal then? well, i guess if there was, you wouldn’t be here.” she laughs. “i apologize.”

at this point, forest was just living life. he had a girlfriend, he liked her brother, he was far from doing what his parent’s wanted for him. he was glad that he had made the life choices that he did. he would rather a life of doing what he loved rather than making a fortune doing what he hated. “you’re not bothering,” forest reassured her. forest simply nodded, a bright smile set on his lips as he began strumming another song in his library. he didn’t think his music would take him to high stages. he didn’t want all the fame and glory, he just wanted to keep doing what he loved. plus, if he could pour his heart out into a song about his girlfriend or the choices he’s made in life, might as well do it. he strummed for a moment before starting to sing. “sweet creature… had another talk about where it’s going wrong, but we’re still young. we don’t know where we’re going but we know where we belong,” he continued on to sing more of the song, as long as the other had kept listening.
its a nice distraction, a bit of bliss in the hectic tornado that was her life currently. her mind tends to wander, so lately she’s found herself searching for anything else that will occupy her time. she’s lucky enough to stumble upon something new today to pull her mind elsewhere. his voice is something so unique it draws her in, almost hypnotic. she settles herself on a nearby bench, listening to him play. he didn’t seem to mind her listening, so lets his music drift her to a different place. while not a musical person herself, she was an artist. she enjoyed releasing her emotions through pencil, paper, and paint. once he’s finished, she offers him a gentle smile. “your voice is incredible. very unique.”

forevernalwcys:
the buzzing of the tattoo gun always electrified cat’s heart. something about printing a piece of art on someone’s skin always filled her with glee. she loved being able to draw something and it be with someone forever. cat hadn’t known what ivywood held for her, not knowing if another apocalypse was under wraps or not. but, she used her time wisely and became what she was good at: a tattoo artist. upon hearing the little bell on the door ring, cat was in the middle of tattooing someone. as she took a small break to wipe away extra ink, cat looked to see who had came through the door, a friendly smile settled on her lips. “what can i do for you?”
tolouse has always been a bit on the wild side. he’s always been trouble. he finds himself always acting impulsively. he’s always acting before thinking, and quite often that lands him in trouble. that’s what lands him in the tattoo shop. he’s thought about it long enough, all morning. he’s ready for it. “do you happen to have any openings today?” he asks, small smile on his lips. “i’m cool with waiting as long as needed, and i’ll tip well.” he says, hoping that will work in his favor. he hates waiting, he hates not having the simple satisfaction. “you can do any design you want.”

“i guess so, darn.” miles replied sarcastically, a smile on his own lips. he went to the arcade all the time. usually on his own but occasionally the band came with him. his smile grew into a grin and he laughed softly when kyle nudged him. he truly didn’t mind showing him around. he’s cute, he’s funny, he was flirting with miles – what’s to complain about? “no worries, it’s my pleasure. i moved here from london, but i had the band. that was hard enough so i’m sure…i’m sure it’s hard.”
the brunet is enjoying himself. for the first time in a long time he’s not worrying about the past, the person he used to be, his old life, or even moving away. he’s enjoying the moment, being in ivywood, starting over. it’s nice. “do you get to visit london often?” he asks. he doesn’t know what it’s like to long for home, but he knows a lot of people get that homesick feeling from being gone too long.

“you don’t remember anything from before?” tarzan asked carefully. it was only a short time ago that he arrived in town, feeling just as lost and scared as she looks. hell, he still woke up that way just about every day. “yeah, that makes sense.” he says with a soft smile. “i wish i had all the answers for you, but i’m still trying to figure all this out myself. i’m not from here either though.” he figured knowing that she wasn’t alone would help a little bit at least.
“i just know something’s wrong.” she says with a sigh. it was a bit hard to understand, and it confused her as well. she didn’t remember details, she just knew something was off. she didn’t know anyone here. she didn’t know how but she knew this place was new, and something was off. “it’s okay. i think knowing i’m not the only one makes it a bit better.” the blonde smiles gently.

miles nodded, glancing at the small watch on his wrist. it was getting kind of late, but where they were going was open all night anyway. “okay, but just know that if you go to the comic book store without me — i will be sad.” he pointed out with a soft smile. “also i know the owner so you’d be losing your chance for a discount.” he added. “oh, we’re going to the arcade!” miles answered, his smile growing into a grin. he liked the arcade quite a bit too, just didn’t have as much time as he’d like to spend there. “it’s not too much farther.” he assured kyle.
“guess you’ll have to take me out again then, huh?” kyle says with a hidden smirk. an arcade? this town had a lot more than kyle realized. “i don’t mind the walk, i’ve got pretty good company.” he nudges him before giving him a smile. “thank you, by the way. it’s hard starting over somewhere, especially if you don’t know anyone. it’s not every day you get a hunky tour guide.” miles is a nice distraction from the depressing day to day he’s been dealing with. he’s thankful for a bit of sunshine to brighten up his cloudy week.

at her question tarzan gazed down at her, lips pursing together. “is it that obvious?” he joked with a soft chuckle. he thought he’d done an alright job of fitting in. the best way he knew how anyway. maybe it was the obvious obliviousness of his cell phone. “no, yeah i’m not from there. not really sure where i’m from actually.” he spoke, making a note to find that out later. he frowned a bit at her statement. “i…i’m not sure if anyone does unfortunately. people are just showing up. – do you remember where you’re from?”
amy’s quiet after that, mind wandering. where was she from? where did she want to go? home? where was home? “I... I don’t know.” she says as she comes to the realization. she had no clue. where the hell was she? and where did she come from? “i don’t know how long i’ve been here.” she admits, “i can’t remember what it was like before, but I know it wasn’t this always.” the blonde says, “does that make sense?”

bubbles practically gasped at the idea. baby blue was her color after all. it had always been her color for as long as she could remember. “oh my god, you’re right! that’s the best solution i’ve ever heard!” the girl almost exclaimed, excited at the thought of having only baby blue clothes in her wardrobe. she carried a childlike joy on her features as she looked at the other. she mentally threw away the image of blossom and buttercup’s reaction to the laundry situation for a moment.
kyle laughs harder, nodding. “see, not that big of a deal.” kyle shrugs. it seemed to fit her, baby blue. matched her fun and energetic personality. “and if you ever find something in white you know you could just dye it blue. everything matches everything. you never have to worry about an outfit because it won’t ever clash.” kyle sort of did the same thing, most of his outfits were black or white, a few colors mixed in, but mostly monotone was his type of vibe. it was easy to match, black almost never stained, and what white clothes he had, he kept pretty clean. “makes your eyes pop.”

forevernalwcys:
his fingers delicately traced the chords of the guitar, playing a soft and soothing song. forest believed so highly in song that made you feel comforted. sure, he did love a song that could make you dance, but he always reverted back into his calm voice being the main centerpiece of a song. he was actively trying to make a step into music, but he didn’t want to take a fast step into it. he figured if he wanted people to be passionate about his music like he was, he would take the slow approach. “we’re not who we used to be, we’re just two ghosts standing in the place of you and me … trying to remember how it feels to have a heartbeat,” his voice was soft and calm, swaying slightly as he strummed on his guitar. once he was done with the song, he ran his fingers through his hair and set the guitar down. he hadn’t noticed the other’s presence, but he simply smiled as he looked at them. “sorry, was i distracting?”
lily has taken a liking to walking through the park, enjoying the fresh air, sometimes even working on her sketching or thinking of ideas for her next piece of art. eventually her mind would wander to thoughts of her family and how afraid she was that she might never make it home. she’s trying to focus on anything but, and the melodic sound of voice accompanying guitar. it’s beautiful, drawing her in. she follows the sound until she’s met with a stranger. “no no, you’re.. you’re very talented. i just overheard you.” the blonde smiles shyly, stepping closer. “would you mind maybe playing another song?” she asks, “as long as i’m not bothering?” anything to keep her thoughts from drifting to the unknown.

forevernalwcys:
“so.. metaphorically someone accidentally mixed some of their blue clothes in with their whites and now everything that they had white is now light blue…” totally wasn’t bubbles’ life at the moment. she knew to not mix those colors. totally not her, at all. bubbles twirled her fingers around one of her pigtails, nervously biting the inside of her cheek. “how would you suggest that they fix that?” was there a way to fix it? bubbles had no idea, but she didn’t want blossom or buttercup to freak.
kyle isn’t great at laundry, but he was always careful with his whites. “oh, uh... you could try using a bunch of bleach to try and get the blue out of the white? other than that i’m not too sure, honestly.” he says with a laugh. “what if you just got rid of all the white? wear all baby blue, you know?”

Luna heard his reasoning, and while she knew it was a valid thought, she didn’t believe it. That was just her though. Listening to him, she started to move through their reservation books, nodding his head as she checked what they had opened. “Okay so, we have been pretty busy lately, but I might be able to make something work for you.” She commented, grabbing a pen and their registration packets. “If you want, we can go ahead and book through the month and you can pay for the first two weeks up front. And if you want to keep your room, just have the next two weeks ready at the end of the first. Does that work?”
he knew the town was busy, a bunch of weirdos popping up, but he was stuck. he didn’t have much of a choice other than to stay and figure it out. he was thankful there was room at the motel for him, even if it was just for a bit. “i can do that.” he says with a nod. he smiles softly at her, thankful she was able to help him out of his situation. he hands over his card to her in exchange for the pen and registration packets. he fills it out quickly, ready to have some place to rest his head other than the couch of his ex-boyfriend’s house. “that’s.. it’s perfect, really. thank you.” once finished he hands over the paperwork and pen. “i owe you. do you like coffee?”

“my favorite spot?” miles ponders for a moment, laughing at kyle’s comment. “i do actually like back to the grind a lot. now even more, obviously.” he smirked, glancing over at kyle. he could feel the other boy’s eyes on him, but it didn’t bother him. if anything made him feel a bit cocky. “i like the thrift store quite a bit too, there’s always some cool stuff in there. the comic book store, too. there are some great shops in ivywood.”
kyle takes his flirting back as a good sign. he wouldn’t be showing him around if he wasn’t at least a little bit interested, right? “i’ll have to check them out. well, when everything’s not about to close.” it wasn’t too late, but late enough he doubted they were open, if they were not for much longer. “where are we headed now?” kyle asks, because he’s just been following miles’ lead. “not that i mind.” he adds with a shake of his head. “you’re the guide, i’m just following along.” it was a nice night, a light breeze, full moon to light the evening sky.

relieved to hear that the girl is okay tarzan lets out a soft breath. “no, i – it wasn’t your fault.” he insists with a shake of his head. he’d already learned a lot of new technology because of work but that didn’t mean it was easy. and he definitely couldn’t figure out this phone very easily. “i’m glad you’re alright.” he nodded quickly at her question. “yeah, yeah i’m okay. i wasn’t paying attention, this…” he trailed off, looking at the cell phone in his hand. “stupid telephone,i can’t – figure it out.” tarzan scoffed, shaking his head then. “i’m okay, yeah. sorry again.”
amy looks to what he’s on about, the cell phone in his hand. “i’m sorry to say, i’m afraid i wouldn’t be much help either.” she looks to the phone again and then up to the stranger’s face. “you’re not from here are you?” he had that same bit on confusion to his face, feeling entirely lost and not knowing what’s going on or how anything will get back to normal. if it ever will. “i can’t... i don’t know anyone who knows what’s going on.”

miles couldn’t help but laugh. it wasn’t the first time someone had judged him for drinking black coffee. “listen, sweeteners in coffee and tea are an american thing. where i’m from it’s just black. maybe a little milk if you’re lucky.” miles explained. he didn’t drink coffee because it tasted good. he had a caffeine addiction. “that’s good. the people are kind, yeah. perks of a smaller town i guess.” miles shrugged casually. he didn’t mind the town. it wasn’t home, but his friends and his job was here so he didn’t mind it.
“what’s your favorite spot in town?” kyle asks, looking around a bit before back to miles. somehow his eyes kept wandering over him, taking mental note of tiny details, such as his tattered shoes, hair elastic on his wrist, holes in his jeans. “well, besides the music studio.” he chuckles, “i know about that one already. unless the coffee shop has now become your favorite because of your new favorite barista.” he teases, smirking at him.

“oh damn, i’m sorry. that sucks, but don’t be embarrassed. sometimes things don’t work out.” if you asked miles he was already getting back on his feet quickly. moved to a new town, got a new job. that’s hard stuff. “i don’t know about the fancy stuff, but my coffee was pretty good this morning.” he smiled, glancing over at kyle. “oh no, i grew up in england. only moved here because the band is here, and the record label.” he explained.
“well, i’m glad you liked your coffee, though I’m not sure how you could’ve, with no sweeteners or anything in it.” he teases, “you know like, three or ten pumps of vanilla.” kyle had a sweet tooth, and even though he loved the taste of coffee, he just doesn’t like it plain. needs something to lighten it up. “that explains the accent.” kyle says, “i like it here so far, it’s nice. everyone’s kind.” well, he may be a bit biased, because miles is being sweet to him, and he can’t stop staring at him. kyle’s in no way ready for a relationship, but he also isn’t about to let the blond flirt with him and not flirt back.
