Fandom is amazing we’re all just writing stories for each other and making gifs and video edits and fanart and for what? For sharing the joy of it, the love of it. So we can look at another human and see ourselves

I think the longest I waited until the next update came was 2 years.

as for my own fanfiction.. if I ever continue Destiny (which I kinda want to but can't get myself to do) it will have been 5 years...

Real talk: how long do you take posting chapters on fanfic? Cause part of me is like “oh it’ll be fine if I take a couple months cause life- out of all people AO3 understands.”

But then I wonder if I severely overestimate the attention span of current fans in the wake of instant gratification and consumerism.

My fandom brothers! Doth ye still wait years for a fic chapter update? Is there hope for a long winded scribe?

One time a friend told me that she doesn't read fanfic anymore because there aren't any good ones and I still think about this all the time like.... I haven't read a bad fanfic in years. And so I was like, what website are you looking on? Is this ao3? What fandom is this? How are you searching?

Now every time I go to search for something new on ao3, I'm like, "lol too bad there aren't any good ones anymore."

There's so many good fanfics, award winning fanfics just laying around all over the place for FREE.
