Mr. Jimmy Ray Kirkland, 65, of Cottonwood, passed away at his residence Tuesday, September 11, 2018, after a brief illness. Graveside service will be at 12:00 pm Friday, September 14, 2018 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Cottonwood with Mr. Earl Sellers officiating and Kendall Glover of Glover Funeral Home directing. Mr. Jimmy Ray Kirkland of Cottonwood, Alabama passed away on September 11, 2018, at age 65. He left his family at his residence after suffering from a brief illness. His body was laid to rest at the Hickory Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Cottonwood and graveside service was held on September 14, 2018. The funeral ceremony was officiated by Mr. Earl Sellers and directed by Kendall Glover of Glover Funeral Home. Born on April 27, 1953, to Harold "Shorty" and Essie Mae Kirkland in Houston County, AL, Jimmy Ray worked as a plumber and electrician. He is survived by 2 daughters, 6 sisters, 3 brothers, a half-sister, 3 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
