Week 2
I continue to just kind of muddle my way through, just barely making everything come together. Hopefully this weekend was enough recharge that I’ll be able to still meet some of my goals. I just need to give myself some motivation.
On Tuesday I made these excellent shrimp noodles on the recommendation of my co-worker. It also meant that I had a bunch of plain udon to make myself quick lunches with. Just noodles and some chili crisp makes an excellent lunch. Maybe need to do that more often.
I also got the yarn for the first half of the sweaters this year! I should be able to finish the hats by the end of the week, and the embroidery will take me a little longer but I can continue to work on that in the evenings.
On Wednesday I noticed that Bean was acting a bit strange, chewing on her toes a lot. Turns out she has some sort of cut or infection on her toes. Vet appointment is booked but until then she’s going to look like a sad little tangerine.
Logically I know she is and will be fine, but I can’t help but feel all this anxiety and fear for her. I love her so much, I don’t know what I would do if something were to take her from me prematurely.
So of course the rest of the week was kind of a write off for me. Nothing got done, though I did bake a pretty nice impromptu cake, and my favourite plant is flowering which is bringing some much needed joy into my life.

Personal highlights from the klimt exhibition at the van gogh museum, which i saw yesterday. The 3rd and 4th artworks are illustrations by aubrey beardsley in his salome series, which i wrote about years ago for my BA thesis! It was such a joy to see these in person, as well the study for the madame x portrait by john singer sargent (the 2nd pic)

WEEK ONE
A week late, but I wanted to make sure that at the end of the year I would actually end up with 52 posts, and at least as many pictures.
The first week of the year was EXHAUSTING. Seemingly unending urgent tasks at work, working in the office on short notice, but there were good things too.
In gaming I had amazing luck in EnsembleStars, and got several new 5 stars because of the new years bonus. I’ve been thoroughly enjoying State of Decay 2, both with friends and solo. Genshin has become really interesting with all the leaks about the Fontaine cast. I also finally finished getting the fish for the refinements for The Catch. I’ve been focusing on building one specific character per week, and I’ve been preparing Faruzan so that she will be ready for Xiao next week. Well, at least preparing her as best as I can with the limited weekly boss materials that I have, her talents are still a work in progress.
I’ve been slowly making my way through all the belated Christmas gifts. I finished 2 of the 4 hats for the Johnstones, and making steady progress on the embroidery for Brenna. Hopefully most things will be ready to go by the end of January.
Cooking has been delightful with all the new ingredients available at T&T. Personally I’m most excited about the peanut chili crisp and the kewpie mayo. I absolutely have to look for more recipes where I can incorporate those things. Maybe that means trying to deep fry more things?
Anyways, this is as good a summary I can make considering this week has been long over.
