Putting near in non-niamero relationships while he's still obsessed with mello is a concept I'm deeply in love with. um. post canon near never getting over mello's death and not being able to have good relationships with other people because he keeps thinking about his dead wife (metaphorical) and won't go to therapy (or outside even). i say as they drag me into a white padded room (near-coloured)
