Xavier is also pretty well adjusted, he'd probably laugh it off if he could. "Shit happens". Unless he pissed off the coven in which case he'd spiral.

If you tried you tell Violet that she had made a mistake she would probably look right through you like she didn't hear a word you just said

hii can I ask how / where you learned how to create a conlang . I've tried learning in the past but it's never quite clicked for me

I didn't learn from anyone in particular I just made it up as I went along. But here's my method so far!

I started assigning words to things (I started with colors, then branched out from there). I kept an online dictionary with both English and Nelthyet so I could Ctrl+F to find the words again easily. I reused some words in the making of other words (big + dog = wolf. Red + water = blood. Friend + mine= thank you)

Then for many years I just added to that dictionary over time. "Oh I don't have a word for ground yet, let's make one, oh I don't have a word for sadness yet, let's make one"

It helped me a lot to start translating my favorite songs into my conlang so I could find words I was missing or I could use what I already had to explain the same ideas.

Grammar rules I just kinda winged... My rule is you conjugate the first verb to the tense of the sentence and the rest of the verbs in the sentence can stay neutral. In Nelthyet a sentence would read "yesterday I jumped, run, and sing" instead of "yesterday I jumped, ran, and sang". But you do what you like or what makes sense to you!

Really just get creative with it! Id seen people talking about how language plays a big part of culture so you can subtly say things about the culture of the speakers by adjusting the language! Is there a certain sound that is always used in negative words? Positive words? Are there curse words? What do they translate directly to? If there are words commonly learned by babies or small children (mom, dad, food, milk, candy, etc etc etc) are these words easy for children to say? If not, do they often get shortened?

As for the script ........ Imma be real with you.. collect a bunch of symbols you like the look of, keeping in mind how you imagine this culture originally wrote these symbols. Mine was a language carved into skin so the lines are straight, no curves or dots or things that would be hard to cut. But maybe yours was written with a paint brush so it can have lots of swirls and dots and other things. Maybe it was finger painted so it has marks that would be easily recreated through finger painting. Go crazy! Now Assign the symbols to sounds. That was my method at least. Add symbols for . ? ! Etc

13. Who cries the most often? What are the usual causes?

Good question... I'm inclined to say Piper probably cries the most. She's a bit of a crybaby. (No shade, I am too). Vampires dont tend to like to display big emotions that might convey "weakness"... But Piper couldn't really care less about social cues or things of this nature lol. She cries because she misses life when she was mortal. She misses her friends from when she was mortal. Her family. She (like most vampires) starts off having a really hard time with killing to survive. Her first couple kills she probably leaves little mementos for the dead like little offerings to try to ease her mind... But still goes home and cries for the rest of the night 😅

Matthew. Definitely Matthew. Anytime I've got an idea of something awful happening to someone he usually gets it lol. Parental estrangement? Check. Being treated like an outcast in his own coven? Check. Forbidden romance that is frowned upon? Check. If I'm writing a human AU he usually also gets the pleasure of being sick, hospitalized,bullied... he's my boy but he's unlucky as hell lol

11. Who is afraid the most? How does this effect them?

Piper is probably afraid the most. She's really timid and anxious. But honestly all things considered she handles it pretty well! She adapts to coven life relatively well. She makes friends and connections and even excels at certain things. But she's naturally very much a scaredy cat. She functions at a low level of constantly afraid lol

Salem: Are you.. invoking mortal legislation right now?

Xavier: I have anxiety. Which is disabling. Therefore I'm allowed to have a small manageable creature to help me self soothe.

Salem: When you say "allowed" you mean in this coven. In my house. Where I have explicitly forbidden it?

Xavier: yes. If you don't comply you'd technically be discriminating and I could file a complaint.
