or you can add another option (bur for different people) and have 3 already pre picked teams

IE I’m on KI but I have 3 options for DC, HW and FL

another person was originally with KI but then they have the option of BV, MQ and TM

Or bump it up to 5… along with random.

And if a team is cut from the AC those people who played with that team can have free choosing of who ever they want to play for..

or staying with your team. Personally I think the AC is at a point where people are mostly loyal to their teams and only very few people switch.
