Charles Leclerc is the greatest gaslighter on the grid. He had everyone — fans, the paddock, even the press — convinced he’s this sweet, calm, tragic hero when in reality he’s insane.

The funniest shit right now is watching people slowly realize that Charles Leclerc is just as mad as Max Verstappen — and being shocked about it. Like, babes… there’s a reason Max races Charles differently. He knows.

Now that I think about it. Mental health discussions in f1 have always been swept under the rug, haven't they?

As a short example: to this day there are people who think that the sole and primary reason Nico Rosberg retired was so he could go out as an undefeated winner who was afraid to loose, and that was a whiny thing to do. And not the fact that the sport was more than likely killing him (he cut his hair and changed helmet colours to loose weight. What do you think he could have done to his own body?). It's been near nine years since then, and yet.

There is a very dangerous narrative of hyper masculinity pushed onto drivers to this day and it is terrifying to witness.

Another example would be the way many men (and boys) praise Max Verstappen's father for being abusive, because "Max is a champion! It worked!" But what about the very real kid? What about the adult man today, who sees his own merits and accomplishments shadowed by people claiming they are due to his father? And when he is angry it is "dangerous", when he is happy it is "pride," why isn't he allowed to feel? Why does he have to be the picture perfect driver that he'll never be, because he's a human and not a racing machine?

When Lando Norris expresses sadness and anxiety he is a whiny little kid. When Lance Stroll distances himself from hateful criticism he is a spoiled brat. When Oscar Piastri is aloof he is cold and calculating. And whatever feeling Lewis Hamilton will express, the press will analyse and criticise tenfold.

Why have we decided that F1 drivers were not allowed to be humans? Why do we retain these dangerous ideas of toxic masculinity even in 2025, and refuse to acknowledge the complex emotions they are allowed to feel?

They are not perfect and never will be. Pretending that they are, constructing houses of cards on a pyramid of lies will only allow for the narrative and the fall to hit even harder when a facet of their true, flawed, personality reaches the surface.

Wait so this user posted two days ago this post. The user is talking about the author using AI and using her drawings without asking first.

Now, people have written in the comments and all, saying bad stuff and also sending hate messages to the author.

Apparently this whole thing was just a mistake and the auther publicly apologised for using the drawings. This is the authors apology.

But what the apology shows me that not only did the user accuse the author of using AI but has since then not said anything about this. And people have been writing comments under the useres post, so the user would have seen this.

And also, the user didn't write the author before they posted their thing, which resulted in the author getting so many bad messages. And it has been now several hours, and the user hasn't even said anything about this nor commented on the apology or anything.

This is fucked up to me. Because it is all about drawings. The author, a 15 year old, apologised and stated she thought that tagging was the only thing the author had to do. Yes it was not right, but they apologised several times.

However, what is bugging me is that the user is definitely older than the author and hasn't said anything about this, not even acknowledging it. What the fuck. Because of your post, a person gets death threats. And the user just has fun reposting CL16 stuff.

What is also bothering me is that the user hasn't even tried to talk with the author before making their post.

Nah, what is wrong with this world. Communication is dead or what.

Yes the author did a mistake, not asking for the drawings, but what the user did is much worse. I hope you all aware that this is not the authors fault anymore, but the users.

And people like this, like the user, should get cancelled. We can't just look away when young people get online hate from adults. This is sick and can end very badly. Online bullying has already left many marks on many young people. Let's talk about this publicly.

In my point of view, the user made themselve the victim while the real victim has been the author all along.

Seeing two incredible drivers who actually care about racing and once again have proved that they only know how to really race eachother without immediately screaming on the radio, be forced down to this because of the team..

It really just hit me that we are living through history.

Even if you are not a Max Verstappen or Red Bull Racing fan, stop for a moment and relish in the greatness we’ve witnessed these past four seasons.

I remember being young and asking my father and grandfathers about Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost and Niki Lauda.

I remember being just old enough to understand the enormity of what Michael Schumacher was able to accomplish towards the end of his time with Ferrari.

One day our own children and grandchildren will oooh and aaah about how we got to witness Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen’s domination.

This sport moves quick. Champions come and go. Drivers come and go. Teams come and go.

So stop for a moment and just appreciate the era of Formula 1 we’ve been lucky enough to live through.

I saw this post and a fic idea immediately came to mind! I’m now in the progress of writing it.

It’s an AU where both Max and Charles are promo actors. However Charles mostly gets casts for more sensual advertisements whereas Max gets cast more often for his acting.

They get cast together in an advertisement where they have to combine their skills.

It’s a bit of a rivals to lovers (however they’re not really rivals?? they do really dislike each other though), lots of banter and tension!!

Ideas or suggestions for the fic are always welcome!
