Starting to make my first neovim plugin, wish me luck

I made my Neovim config from scratch cus hell yea.

Neovim is an amazing text editor but very bare bones in the beginning. Because of this we all had to configure it at whatever measure we can. Some people choose to configure it from scratch while others aren't that willing to do that so they will choose to use a Neovim distribution (Not calling any names because they can be pretty cool). The latter is what i kinda have a problem with.

Should you take these opinions into face value?

Not at all, These opinions are from my own past experience with using these distributions. There are people who've had better experiences with using these distributions than what I've had.

Why do I hate Neovim distributions?

Neovim distributions can be a bit more of a chore to configure. There are 2 main reasons

Very Undocumented : Many Neovim distributions can be vague on how they present things on their wiki especially adding plugins (i use a lot of plugins) due to their unique directory structure. I broke a Neovim distribution trying to add a plugin.

Unoptimised for most : Neovim distributions do offer good plugins that are useful for most people but there are still plugins that aren't offered which can optimise the workflow for a number of people as well as circling back to our first reason It can be a pain in the ass to add plugins.

Should you make a config from scratch?

Making a config from scratch is one of the best ways to learn about the Neovim ecosystem enabling to have a grasp of how each plugin or configuration communicates in your Neovim workflow. Having a config from scratch is that you have a better understanding with plugins and you can add plugins on a whim. (That is just how I like configuring Neovim).

Should you use a Neovim distribution?

Surprisingly, Yes but only if you are starting to use Neovim. Neovim distributions are an amazing way to step into the wild world of minimal text editors like Neovim.

Another Final Thoughts

You should make a Neovim config from scratch unless you are a beginner then you should try a Neovim distribution out.
