I use (neo)vim
I've been using arrow keys for navigation, and I decided I wanted to use hjkl instead
Someone on the internet had the idea to rebind those to jkil to make it easier to pick up
I decided I wanted to do something like that
I think I picked the most cursed option

Behold: English (US, intl., with dead keys, cursed edition)
Yes this is my keyboard layout
Yes I decided to edit xkb rather than my neovim configuration
Over the next few days we will find out what effect this has on my typing

probably i should learn how to use neo/vi/m or similar sometime. i guess the reason i haven't is i don't use console text editors that often? if i'm doing a writing project i'll either use libreoffice or scrivener (depending on length) and if i just need to edit a config usually kate or nano work. the only programming i do is html/css, and i usually just do that in kate. maybe a more powerful editor would help my flow? unsure. would totally help with the whole "relatively universal linux console editor" thing though

have you posted more your colorschemes anywhere? the one in your pinned post looks really nice! - @cups-official
hi @cups-official !!!
they're both on my codeberg as neovim schemes with a random assortment of extras (lifted repo structure from tokyonight + lua that i do not understand from xero)!! my dotfiles are a mess right now but i use them with sway, yambar, bemenu, mako, etc. i'll get around to mirroring them to github for easier installation maybe

Some screen sharing of challenging backend Java code that I was testing, although it was quite basic, to be honest.
Additionally, my notebook contained a pretty basic code base for a producer class that I wrote by hand. I want to become very skilled in creating Java classes based on the producer-consumer pattern using Kafka.

Goodbye Vim, Hello Neovim!
"It's great that I've fully migrated from Vim to Neovim. Setting up the configurations took some time, but I'm glad I made the switch. Chris was right; I should have done this sooner! While leaving familiar habits behind wasn't easy, I'm satisfied with my progress."

If you use vim or neovim (i like to remap to get vim-like keybindings in every programs i use), someone made an eva unit 01 theme for it. Popular plugins like whichkey, lualine, fzf or telescope are even themed. Palette is also lovely named about eva ("LCL" for orange^^). Author even has a custom eva mechanical keyboard. It won't replace your rosé pine, tokyonight, dracula, gruvbox... but it's a cool colorscheme.

I miss the days in uni when i was trying so many different linux distros, window managers, vim, neovim, customization, ricing, so many dotfiles.
Now that I'm working for a company and just cant live that 'wild west of tech' life anymore, i miss those days.

[WHY VIM IS MORE THAN JUST AN EDITOR]

I just put up my first neovim plugin! :3
It uses the vim.notify() function to display one of the splash text options that the user inputs in the config (it picks randomly).
It works fine out of the box, but if you have a plugin that modifies the way vim.notify() shows notifications, it can look really nice! For example:
#eventually i want to change it so that it only launches if the plugin setup function is called in the init.lua (or other config file)#but idk how to do that atm#neovim#vim#nvim#neovim plugins#linux#open source#foss#lua#codeblr

Godot's only flaw is its code editor (and in some ways, GDScript).
Why is there no way to check what type a variable is? I get that we can do `var name: type = value`, however we sometimes need to infer the type from its usage throughout the code. I find that the code editor doesn't show me that in a readable way...
I encounter so many eccentricities of the code editor that I find myself wanting to go back to neovim. ;-;
